Do you think social media is well on its way to overtake traditional face to face meetings?
It already has in many ways. Microsoft's Lync has changed interaction at work. Within a decade the process of group interchanges will be unrecognizable; I'm seeing it now. This is a great topic. Holograms by 2020? Why not? The process of innovation is only speeding up.
For work meetings they are very good, and also for keeping in contact with distant friends. But they will not replace face to face meetings between friends who are near: no social media will replace the face to face relationships, they can be used as a helpful communication tool, but not as a replacement...
