   What causes pro-lifers to have very skewed summations regarding women's reproductive freedoms &

   Their ignorant bible, their ignorant husbands, their ignorant grasp of "my body, my life" rights, their ignorant "holy men" who claim to have the right to tell people what god wants them to do with their reproductive organs. Their idea that they have the right to force people to believe in whatever it is that they believe in without a thought as to what the person actually believes in or doesn't believe in. Their "holier than thou" attitude toward non-christians.
   As usual, the list goes on and on, but it basically boils down to - My god/pastor/husband/Lord/Master tells me what to think, so I insist that everyone think the same way.
   Pro-lifers are a contradiction in terms. They are all for killing whoever their "god" tells them to kill, but can't grasp the fact that a woman who cannot, does not, want to be a parent has control of their body and can decide to have a baby or not. They are all about forcing people to OBEY the "will of their gods". And of course, they are the ones who speak to their gods directly, so they know.
   I have to say I am sick to death of ignorant religious folk trying to run things. They really do a horrible job of it. They are sick, brainwashed people who should just move on to their "afterlife/heaven" and be done with it.
   Seriously? They believe that "god" wants babies to have the head of their male organ cut off? Or a woman to be "fixed" so she can't enjoy sex (since it's only for procreation). And if a man rapes a woman, it's OK to force her to birth the rapist's baby? These people are INSANE!
   Do they even listen to what comes out of their mouths???

   The whole discourse on the subject been skewed by the dominant narrative focusing too much on women's rights. The two sides are speaking past one another.
   
   Yes, the freedom to choose must be considered a human right.  But no, the Christian motivation to overturn that right is not based in the desire to hurt women. It's not a war on women. It's not about hating women. It's not internalized misogyny when Christian women stand against abortion.
   
   Christians believe that life starts at conception. They believe the fetus is imbued with a soul, and that therefore, abortion is a form of murder, and is therefore wrong. This is about the fetus, for them. It's about a human life. That the life is growing inside a woman is incidental, not central. For Christians, the fetus is a fully fledged human, and from this it follows that a human right to live is far more important than a human right to end that life just to avoid a year of physical discomfort and health risk.
   
   So by framing this as purely women's issue, as purely a misogyny issue, dominant culture misses the point and fails to address their opposition. Naturally, the opposition stops listening.
   
   What to do instead? If you really want to have an effect on pro-lifers, argue for pro-choice on Christian terms. Do parts of the Bible allow abortion? Does allowing abortion follow from parts of the Bible? Or, what about Jesus' "render unto Caesar" line, his words in favor of church-state separation? What about the value of people being granted the freedom to choose to obey God with a genuine heart, rather than being forced to follow his laws unfaithfully? Etc.

   They are focusing on the rights of the child, not the convenience of the parents. And those who do not want to raise the child can give it to someone who does.

   I believe the bottom line is, they do it so their highly dysfunctional society can continue to exist.  Obviously, no one who knew anything and was in their right mind would choose to bring a life into a dysfunctional society.  The only way to perpetuate such a group is to hoodwink its members into reproducing, and to pass harsh laws against those who see through the farce.
