What is your opinion of Ted Cruz's speech yesterday at the GOP convention?

Did you like or dislike his speech and why?

It appears that we wrote our questions at the same time.wink  I believe that Ted Cruz gave an excellent speech and that Donald was lucky to have him speak at the RNC convention, especially given that many establishment Republicans chose not to attend.
I also felt it reflected badly on Ivanka Trump in that she could not be bothered to clap during the speech and because she sat stone-faced throughout most, if not all of the speech given by Ted Cruz.
But you asked about Ted Cruz, not Donald's privileged children. He did a fantastic job as far as I am concerned, even if he did not specifically "endorse" Trump in actual words. Too bad for the audience for childishly booing Cruz at the end of his speech. I was ready to vote for Trump because of Pence, but now I am back to withholding my vote, given Trump's disgusting lack of appreciation for Ted Cruz.

I totally agree with you. The first 90% of the speech was excellent and presidential. It's a shame the press and media and pundits choose to focus on the last 10%. They are so dishonest.

I don't know what you people watched, but Cruz's speech was much like Comey on Hillary and the emails. Cruz is a failure he couldn't beat Trump, so he is taking down the republican party. He has nothing to offer the pres& now not even the congres

How could TC support a guy that called him a liar? He belittled TC before the whole world. Trump has no coolness about himself. He has a blown off stack...

That's right. Cruz did as much as can be expected. Too bad Trump couldn't do the same.

Cruz and Kasich failed to win the vote of the people, so they opted to take down the party, and give it to Hillary. That is treason, vindictive and childish. Neither of them are worthwhile pres material.

Keep in mind this deals with Politicians.  They are all actors, liars, gangsters, con-men, and a few other things.

We can't think about them the way we think of normal human beings.

Is Trump a politician at this time?

Trump is a politician and has been for a long time but from the other side. He was instrumental in donating to Democrats that got us to where we are...If he had an epiphany and have turned around, I suppose you can give him a break but I doubt it.

Dislike it. The party needs to unite behind the official nominee in order to fight the national battle of the parties, and he tried to go "last gasp, nominate me!"
He undermined the party, increasing its odds of losing, while hurting his long term chances by not graciously supporting Trump (showing he can abrogate personal ambition for party and national good).
If he'd supported Trump 2016, he'd find better odds of succeeding 2024 if Trump won and 2020 against Hillary if she won.

I did not get that message. I think he did the honorable thing by telling people to vote their conscience and up and down the ticket to support the Constitution... To me, that means, go to vote, don't stay home and vote for keeping majority Congress.

There was nothing honorable in breaking your word to endorse the winner of the convention. He didn't get invited to the prom, so now he wants to burn down the school!!
