Why are people defending illegal immigrants in the USA?
Can someone help me to understand why people are being protective of those who came into the US ILLEGALLY--that is, they are breaking the law? Why couldn't they come in the right way? Is this insulting to one who did come into the States legally and paid all that money and did all that work?
I know exactly what you mean. What about 'illegal', do they not understand? If these people wanted to come in legally, I would have no problem with them. Now they want to term them 'undocumented' to make it seem that we should not have a problem with them. Any other country would put them in jail, and ship them back to their country of origin. I would consider it highly insulting, if I came in legally.
Because the US is a nation of immigrants, and many of us understand that immigrants are invaluable to our nation.
Also, White people would scream bloody murder if the price of produce suddenly exploded because we kicked out all of the agriculture workers. Same with child care, construction, restaurants...
By the way, whose ancestors "paid all of that money" for US citizenship? We stole the land and brought (undocumented) slaves to work it. Fines on immigrants is a stupid right wing idea borne out of their hatred of brown people. Just stop with this anti-immigrant, white supremacy nonsense.
Who said anything about white. I am part native American. I have two Mexican heritage daughter-in-laws and a grandson. Their parents and grandparents are worse than I am. They are outraged that their countrymen do not need to learn the language.
This has NOTHING to do with white supremacy! So sick of people throwing that label around every time someone says something with some common sense! Don't agree= you must be a bigoted, islamophobic, white supremacist. Get over yourself!
Justin, this question is about ILLEGAL immigrants, not immigrants. When will people learn to separate those two terms?
Yes, extremely bigoted. Your boy Trump is the poster child of anti-immigrant sentiment, and he said Mexicans are rapists and criminals. He talks of deportations forces and banning religions. Playing ignorant isn't getting you anywhere.
Justin, you still aren't separating LEGAL and ILLEGAL. There is a difference.
Justin, you still do not get it. We have no problem with LEGAL immigrants. We just have a problem with those that insist on breaking the law to come here. That is why they are ILLEGAL.
There is no such thing as an illegal person. Your insistence upon using an ugly slur against immigrants (in a nation of immigrants, no less) reveals you to be motivated by bigotry.
If they don't come here through proper channels then they are ILLEGAL. Or would you rather be politically correct and call them UNDOCUMENTED? Same thing.
Only the ugly will turn this into a slur. Keep changing the meanings of words, why doncha.
Misplaced compassion for the underdog, the illegal immigrant, instead of the Americans who have lost their jobs and sit on welfare or family charity to get by.
They forget the obligation to take care of the poor in their own gates first, before the foreigner.

really get tired of people who say the United States is a horrible place. I have no idea why they just don't go to a country they think is better. I wonder if they are too unintelligent, cowards or just lack the conviction and commitment it would take to move to another country. ...
