Secretary of State Rex Tillerson did not speak to President Trump before his firting and is "unaware" of the reason behind his dismissal, according to a statement from Tillerson's top deputy.
The statement from Under Secretary of State Steve Goldstein strongly suggests Tillerson found out about his firing from Twitter.
Goldstein also said that Tillerson had "every intention of staying" before his firing.
So, Trump says he fired him because there were differences of opinion between he and Tillerson.
But, a week ago he said: "I like conflict, I like having two people with different points of view, and I certainly have that. And then I make a decision. But I like watching it, I like seeing it, and I think it's the best way to go."
Why now? Why today?
Today, before being fired, this was reported.
Trump obviously walks on eggshells with Putin and Russia. He is so cowardly he can't even fire his own Secretary of State with dignity. He is not worthy of the office he occupies.
Obviously, his failure to apply his own rhetoric to this situation is one the many character failings of this man, Trump. Great leaders don't want an entourage of "Yes Men". But, of course, we are not talking about a great leader in this case. But, for conservatives, this guy is some sort of oracle, a political genius in a death struggle with the "deep state". It going to turn out to be like deep doo-doo for Trump and his supporters, as the outrages continue to accumulate. November, 2018, hurry along.....

“As I reflect upon the state of American democracy, I observe a growing crisis in ethics and integrity.”
"When we as people, a free people, go wobbly on the truth, even on what may seem the most trivial of matters, we go wobbly on America."
“If our leaders seek to conceal the truth, or we as people become accepting of alternative realities that are no longer grounded in facts, then we as American citizens are on a pathway to relinquishing our freedom.”
“preserve and protect our freedom by recognizing what truth is and is not, what a fact is and is not... demand our pursuit of America’s future be fact-based, not based on wishful thinking, not hoped-for outcomes made in shallow promises.”
“If we do not, as Americans, confront the crisis of ethics and integrity in our society and among our leaders in both public and private sector — and regrettably, at times, even the nonprofit sector — then American democracy, as we know it, is entering its twilight years,”
