I may not like Rex Tillerson or agree with his politics, but one thing I'm pretty sure of, given he was the CEO of Exxon, is that he's not dumb nor is he "dumb as a rock".

Does President Trump not understand how many people see this accusation? If you accuse somebody who is quite obviously smart of being dumb, then that means that you're not smart enough to make an accurate value judgement nor are you smart enough to know the difference between smart people and dumb people which, by definition, makes you the stupid one.

So here is what I'm saying, as if it weren't already obvious: if I listen to any person (nevermind the POTUS) call somebody I know to be smart, stupid, I am compelled to assume that the speaker is an idiot.

I think you're right.  Should we also apply it to those that call Trump an idiot, or that say one of the biggest financial moguls in the country doesn't understand business?  Those that declare him mentally ill, without ever having an examination by a qualified professional? big_smile

But given his statement, I would seem to be justified in calling him an idiot because he thinks smart people are idiots. I would point out that your analogy doesn't work because I've established an objective basis for calling Trump an idiot and that his business acumen has been called into serious question (losing billions of dollars during the 1990's).

I think strictly basing Trump's idiocy on not understanding business would not be accurate and would call into the question the opinion and intelligence of the person calling him an idiot on that basis alone.

With as many bankruptcies as Trump has on his resume, apparently he doesn't understand business.

Likewise, the massive losses on the tax returns we have seen so far.

All of Trump's fans who believe he's a great businessman may get a wake-up call when his taxes are finally released. What idiot loses money on a casino?  lol

Did you watch that special on Trump's investments last night on CNN? It was very enlightening.

if Tillerson is dumb as a rock why did Trump appoint him Secretary of State? Is Trump dumber than a rock?

No, folks, it's not The Onion. We have a president who calls his own former Secretary of State dumb as a rock and who refuses to do his job unless the Democrats stop investigating him.

And he still has an almost 90% approval rating among Republicans. I wonder who is really dumb as a rock? big_smile

Prior to appointing Tillerson, Trump called him "one of the truly great business leaders of the world."

Look, I didn't actually create this forum to bash Trump necessarily. It's just a basic fact of being alive. If somebody who claims to be smart calls a smart person dumb then the person who claims to be smart sounds dumb.

Trump's behavior only makes sense when one acknowledges he is a mentally ill narcissist. Every person and situation is judged by whether it portrays or affects Trump positively or negatively. Simple as that.

A Bush official recently hired two psychiatrists to analyze Trump. They scored him 10 out of 10 for narcissism.

Other "qualified professionals" have said the same thing.

Yep. It's so obvious that I cannot comprehend how thinking people can deny it. I know that sounds snotty, but I'm sick of those who turn off their brains so they can deny their own eyes and ears..

I'll bet he was a brat of gigantic proportions and never got his butt spanked...unless of course a porn star did it when he was older.  yikes
