Now running for congress , Claims to be the first Native American elected to congress if elected ? Hmmmm, I wonder how that's going to hold up in the party of the left ?
"Her father, J. D. "Dutch" Haaland, a Norwegian American, was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and recipient of the Silver Star for his actions in Vietnam; he was buried with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery in 2005.
Her mother, Mary Toya a Native American, served in the United States Navy.
Haaland earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of New Mexico in 1994.
She earned her Juris Doctor in Indian law from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2006.
She served as the tribal administrator for the San Felipe Pueblo from January 2013 to November 2015." Wikipedia
what do you mean, "hold up" She looks quite qualified to me. Maybe even the "new face?"
We welcome it, diversity is ALWAYS good, the more the better.
I think it was a jab at Elizabeth Warren.
That is too bad, L to L, because I think that she is "tops" too.
With respect Credence (as usual), I think Liz is a bit too dramatic.
Hi, Promisem, nice of you to drop in. That's ok, you are more of a political centrist than I . I am a bomb throwing leftist, you know...
I find Ms. Warren a perfect fit for me both ideologically and politically.
Ohhh , I can stand anyone even if Debrah said , I'm a democrat ! See..........you learned something new about me .
LOL. Bomb throwing on here livens up the debate.
I admire Warren's enthusiasm for taking on Trump. But if she wants to be President, I just think she needs to act more Presidential.
Instead of so many Democratic politicians co-opting with the corrupt aspects of the system. Wall Street, etc. I need someone whose commitment to Progressive values is impeccable and in the face of what it takes these days to call out the bad guys, I am willing to forgo a thing or two. in regards to her style.
I'm interested in learning more about her. Although, she should be old enough to have known the native American thing was a little silly.
No. Were you?
"Warren vigorously campaigned for Hillary Clinton and took an active role in the 2016 presidential election. She remarked that Donald Trump, the Republican presumptive nominee, was dishonest, uncaring of people and "a loser". A year after the election, Trump referred to Warren as "Pocahontas," which Warren considered to be a racial slur, referring to her contested claims of Native American ancestry." Wikipedia
Trump was just being funny. She can't be half as Haaland is. Any of us could be a smidgeon.
So yeah, that WAS silly!
There is actually no wonder that Democrats have to scream RACISM at the top of their lungs every time that Trump accomplishes something positive , THEY DON"T RECOGNIZE anything positive to begin with . They sure as heck wouldn't know racism if Booker T Washington hit them on the head with encyclopedia .
You know , I was going to say I posted this in the wrong thread but in reality , it's kind of fitting , no ?
