is it true and should cowardly complicit republicans agree to investigate the claims to find out? Of course they should but they probably won't, just like they've refused to live up to their oaths of office: In a normal, functioning American society which we are unfortunately light years away from at this point in time and may never get back to, an allegation of sexual misconduct toward a nominee for the highest court in the land would absolutely spell doom for confirmation: First of all, I’m not even sure a mentally unsound un-indicted co-conspirator like Donald Trump has the legal authority to nominate a supreme court candidate, and that’s what some experts are calling him now after Michael Cohen confessed that he instructed him to commit a federal crime, and secondly, if it were legally acceptable, can’t republicans find a candidate who hasn’t been alleged to have engaged in serious criminal sexual acts?

I think the FBI's disinterest in a presumed allegation from am unnamed source pretty much sums up the gravity of the situation.

The lynch mob mentality of the left got shut down on this one.

FYI, actually, it's not the FBI's job to investigate allegations of sexual crimes by a supreme court nominee, it's the job of congress but unfortunately it appears as if many crazy republican congress-persons have also been compromised by Vladimir Putin or at least that's exactly how they act, this includes sleepy complicit worms like Lindsey Graham: So, unfortunately  , there will probably be no probe to determine if these serious allegations are true of not which is nothing less than an egregious disservice to our once great country: As if republicans even care:

If the allegations were serious, there should have been an investigation years and years ago.

I know facts and reason can prove an impediment to mud slinging but you will just have to deal with the facts and the propensity of some to apply reason to their views.

You are really on a roll Jake.

One mysterious anonymous '11th hour' letter - presented by the opposition, and you are ready to hang the guy.

Yet you give no credence to a letter signed by 65 former female acquaintances. Great balance; One anonymous letter that suits your bias versus 65 signers that counter Ms. Anonymous.

It also seems that to you, the apparent dismissal by the FBI and 12 or 15 years of bipartisan acclaimed judgeship don't hold water next to that one anonymous letter that suits your bias.

If only we would all just see things the way you do...

[ADDED] If we can believe the media talking heads, Fienstein's Democrat  associates aren't real happy with her tactics either. It appears they can see how the general non-Jake public are perceiving her action.

Well GA, my guess is that sexual predators typically don't assault every woman they come in contact with and yes, here in the USA, just one crime of sexual misconduct is enough for you to serve a prison sentence and of course just one confirmed incident would negate all the other women who claim he's just a beattie eyed harmless little man:

Just like one murder or one burglary or one count of conspiracy against the USA is quite enough to convict a person:

In a normally functioning, non-crumbling, non-corrupt democracy complete with republican congress-persons who did not seem to be under the big red thumb of Vladimir Putin, this allegation against Kavanaugh would be thoroughly investigated and vetted before a vote, but we both know that won't happen right? Complicit frantically frightened republicans are gonna try to jam this guy through faster than Bozo Trump peddled and jammed his 'Trump University Diplomas':

        Not anonymous anymore.

Woman who accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her as a teen reveals herself to be a University professor, aged 51, as she goes public with her harrowing account

Christine Blasey Ford is going public with her allegations against Kavanaugh

She described to The Washington Post how he attacked her in high school

She said he pinned her down, covered her mouth and tried to rip off her swimsuit

She said she felt like she had to come forward as the stories about the letter grew
'I feel like my civic responsibility is outweighing my anguish and terror about retaliation,' she told The Washington Post

Ford is a professor at Palo Alto University and originally spoke on the incident in 2012 when she was in couples therapy with her husband

Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who wrote the letter accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, is going public with her story, saying she thought he might kill her.

'I thought he might inadvertently kill me,' said Ford, now a 51-year-old research psychologist in northern California, to The Washington Post. 'He was trying to attack me and remove my clothing.'

Ford said she was able to escape when Kavanaugh's classmate at Georgetown Preparatory School, Mark Judge, jumped on top of them and sent them tumbling.

She told the newspaper she ran from the room, briefly locked herself in a bathroom and then fled the house where the party was taking place.

Ford described the attack as taking place during the summer in the early 1980s, when Kavanaugh and a friend — both 'stumbling drunk,' Ford charges — corralled her into a bedroom during a gathering of teenagers at a house in Montgomery County.

While his friend watched, Ford recounts to The Post, Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed on her back and groped her over her clothes, grinding against and attempting to pull off her one-piece bathing suit and the clothing she wore over it.

She said she tried to scream and he put his hand over her mouth.

Ford said she didn't tell anyone about the incident until 2012 when she was in couples therapy with her husband.

She gave portions of the therapist's notes to The Post.

The newspaper notes they do not mention Kavanaugh by name but say she was attacked by students 'from an elitist boys' school' who went on to become 'highly respected and high-ranking members of society in Washington.'

Additional notes show she described a 'rape attempt' in her late teens.

INSANE: This is absolutely outrageous and if GA wasn't one of the last remaining Trump fans associated with the rapidly shrinking republican party, I think he'd think so as well:

UNREAL and Outrageous: What else is tucked away in thousands of pages of documents on Kavanaugh the Russian Republican Congress refuses to disclose to the public and why are they trying to ram him through at light speed without a proper vetting and investigation?

So now, according to the latest shocking press releases, Brett's accuser has made herself known and she says he tried to or perhaps even succeeded in raping her violently, and she has the positive polygraph test as proof which corroborates her recollection of this horrific crime: UNREAL:

I never trust anyone with beattie little shifty eyes and it looks like my assumptions might just be dead on accurate again:

Will Brett 'Beattie Eyes' Kavanot be willing to take a polygraph so we the people can compare the results ??? Apparently, not only did he have a problem with alcohol according to reports, but he's now officially according to press reports, an alleged rapist: UNREAL, but what else could we possibly expect from a disgusting Trump nominee??

Have at it bud. If it turns out my caution was misplaced, I will be the first to say so. In this case, I think it is possible it was, (although I am still not discounting political chicanery, or misinterpretations), but will wait for the story to play out.

You, on the other hand, make outlandish claims and assumptions on the barest possibility of being in the proximity of a fact.

But hang in there, it seems many enjoy your style. And if you do turn out to be right on this one, just imagine the possibilities. You might see Earthshine and Nostradamus in the same sentence somewhere.

There have been a lot of uncouth, even unseemly events and statements made during the Trump era, on both sides.  But I don't think any situation, any event, in the past few years has crystalized the current state of affairs, and how these two 'sides' operate more than this situation

It is clear to me based on how this information was saved for the very last moment, that this was timed exactly for the purposes of delaying the vote on his confirmation.  The Democrats are in essence using the accusation of sexual harassment/assault for purely political purpose.

The efforts made by Senator Gillibrand and others to make this accusation of a 35 year old hazy and unsure of where or when it happened event to be considered fact, and the likes of 'news reporters' like Maddow stating matter-of-factly that he should be in jail, exposes the 'Left's' leaders and voices as willing to lie, deceive and falsify anything, against anyone, to further their political goals.

I don't know how any rational person could look at this situation and not be appalled that this is what our country's leadership and discourse has fallen to.

When the Republicans wanted to block a Supreme Court nominee vote two years ago, they just didn't vote, they didn't destroy the person's character and reputation.

And when Republicans didn't have the vote, they allowed Obama nominees to go through without much hardship at all.

The Democrats in my views have become a party of the despicable and immoral, where once I voted on the merit of the politician, today I have to assess these state of affairs and conclude I can only vote along party lines because the other side has become irrational, immoral, and anti-American, their actions against this nominee just confirm this.

Interesting fact. The gentleman Ford claimed witnessed her alleged attack has sent a letter to Eric Bruce to the Senate Judiciary Committee obtained and reported by CNN. The letter added as a resource. This man has denied ever being at such party or witnessing such attack.  We now have one witness that disputes Fords account. As of yet, Ford cannot produce the home, the date or anything to prove her allegations. No one has stepped forward to being at said party? I like to follow facts that are at least backed up by a face and a name. His name is Mr. Patrick J. Smyth. Ms. Ford has produced nothing except accounts of a crime. She has made claims that she told her therapist, and husband, as well as taken a lie detector test that was done by an unknown individual. None of her evidence has been provided. No names, no results of any test. Just claims. Claims she will not even step up and confront the man she is accusing. She leaked her own story, yet claimed she did not want to be identified. None of this is pausable or believable without presenting her truth.

11 One day he went into the house to attend to his duties, and none of the household servants was inside. 12 She caught him by his cloak and said, “Come to bed with me!” But he left his cloak in her hand and ran out of the house.

13 When she saw that he had left his cloak in her hand and had run out of the house, 14 she called her household servants. “Look,” she said to them, “this Hebrew has been brought to us to make sport of us! He came in here to sleep with me, but I screamed. 15 When he heard me scream for help, he left his cloak beside me and ran out of the house.”

16 She kept his cloak beside her until his master came home. 17 Then she told him this story: “That Hebrew slave you brought us came to me to make sport of me. 18 But as soon as I screamed for help, he left his cloak beside me and ran out of the house.”

Your 'progressive' Potiphar's wife doesn't even have a bit of a cloak to use as fake evidence.

I think we are forgetting he is willing to face her, she is not willing to face him. He has a witness that she named as being there, that claims he was not. So far that is the only evidence that has been offered.  I do know she has made many claims without any form of evidence. I would be happy to have her produce the lie detector results. This would show she is truthful on at least one count. Perhaps produce her medical records from her psychologist for the committee to have a look at. Actually, given the special election results where republicans are getting their clocks cleaned by the progressive blue wave resistance and how can that possibly be a surprise to any sane individual, it looks like America is fed up with what must be the most corrupt, chaotic and insane white house ever:

BTW Wesman, Brett whats his names accuser has taken a polygraph and passed, which of course indicates she's telling the truth: What about 'beattie eyes' Brett? Will he take a polygraph to prove his innocence? That will probably happen about the same time Bozo Trump gives a full and total refund for all those 'Trump University Diplomas' he peddled years ago:

I'm not really sure how this nonsense relates to the subject of 'beattie eyes' Brett, but Senator Flake is calling for a halt to any voting on this awkward man until further investigation and perhaps questioning under oath can be performed:

Brett Kavanaugh has been accused of violently raping a woman who was in fear for her life as it occurred, not that I'd expect Bozo Trump or any of his last remaining fans to actually care, but it's an abominable crime she is accusing him of and she has positive polygraph results to corroborate her nightmare while 'beattie eyes' Brett has nothing but what appears to be an unattractive, perpetual constipated grin:

BTW, Progressive Dems have the overwhelming advantage in the midterms: Dems 52% Gop 38% and perhaps one reason why republicans are sinking so fast is because their slogan is the following: "We as republicans in congress haven't succeeded yet, but we are still trying like hell to take away your health insurance":

As if we've never seen this exact left wing game time and time and time again. There should be a #metoo movement for men slandered by paid off women and their fake sex assault allegations.

Getting terminal for 'beattie eyes' Brett: BOMBSHELL:

"Lawyer: Kavanaugh accuser willing to testify publicly"

      https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/17/politics … index.html

But don't worry too much, repugnant republican senators like Lindsey Graham are calling for a delayed vote so the alleged rape victim can be heard, they never said they wouldn't vote for 'beattie eyed' Brett because after all, many of them endorsed an alleged pedophile for senate in the recent past and continue to be complicit with the most evil dark force ever to occupy our oval office so what's another dreg of society serving on the SC to them? :

Just one of many reasons why the republican party is shrinking fast:

A man of his questionable character and unthinkable allegations of at least one incident of a serious violent crime, should actually be standing trial not making decisions on what happens to all Americans: He should stay at least 100 miles from our supreme court:

Americans are outraged with this typical trashy and possible felonious Trump nominee where a polygraph indicates a truthful allegation by the alleged victim: The only way to find out how truthful 'beattie eyes' Brett is, would be for him to voluntarily take a polygraph test as well, but we all know that will never happen in a million years, especially after the alleged victim has already passed hers:

If Brett does go bye bye swiftly into obscurity where he belongs, at least OJ and Roy Moore are still available to republicans to serve on Bozo Trump's supreme court of sick clowns:

Not only should Brett be disqualified from the nomination which is typically reserved for non-violent crime offenders, and those who have not been accused of such, but if the statute of limitations has not passed, we must assume there is enough evidence already to arrest and force him to stand trial:

One of the most shocking and outrageous allegations by the woman who according to press reports, passed a polygraph test and is willing to submit said results to the public, is the way she says 'beattie eyes' Brett psychically assaulted her by holding his grubby little hand over her mouth apparently to muffle her cries for help: DESPICABLE:

Will 'beattie eyes' Brett bring his polygraph results to the senate hearing pertaining to the criminal allegations against him in an effort to prove his innocence just like the alleged victim will submit her polygraph which according to press reports, she passed?

I seriously doubt Brett is willing to take a lie detector test under these circumstances, especially while he's currently a sitting judge and how that mistake happened without a full vetting is anyone's guess: And why the rush into a hearing anyway without a complete and thorough investigation of these horrendous criminal allegations?

  9. JAKE Earthshine profile image68

OUTRAGEOUS: This is INSANE: Can't republicans find a nominee who is NOT accused of attempted rape ??? What if 'beattie eyes' Brett Kavanaugh was miraculously confirmed by an amoral, Russian complicit republican senate, then shortly thereafter, criminal charges were filed against him for alleged violent sexual assault?

Essential reading: From "Law & Crime"

"Depending on the true nature of the allegation, not only could his confirmation be in jeopardy, he could also face criminal liability."

"The New York Times and Newsweek reported that Kavanaugh was accused of “sexual misconduct” while attending the Georgetown Preparatory School in Bethesda, Maryland. The Intercept broke this story and reported that the woman in question retained the legal counsel of Debra Katz, an attorney who has previously represented high-profile women as part of the #MeToo movement.

Brett Kavanaugh graduated from Georgetown Preparatory School in 1983. That’s a relatively long time ago. So, could there still be criminal liability in store for President Donald Trump‘s second high court nominee?

If the allegations against him are true, that’s absolutely possible. In fact, a criminal investigation might even be considered plausible at this point under certain circumstances. That’s because the State of Maryland has no statute of limitations for felony sexual assault charges."

What the hell is going on in this crumbling country ??: Nothing less than Stunningly OUTRAGEOUS and criminal:

To what degree has this once great nation been degraded by complicit evil fake christian republicans and an elderly orange man in the oval office who believe it or not, has several pending law suits against him including for felony crimes against our constitution ???? How should the FBI investigation of the alleged violent crimes Brett has been accused of begin? Considering press reports indicate the alleged victim was given and successfully passed a polygraph lie detector test which means she has the facts, credibility and preponderance of the evidence on her side, the only way to challenge these damning results would be to begin with a polygraph lie detector of Brett:

Once complete, if we must be forced by retarded republicans into enduring the new insanity of actually continuing to consider an alleged violent criminal for our supreme court, which is absurdly obscene in and of itself, let the regular structure of the investigation proceed:

She also has polygraph test results which are positive to corroborate her claims this horrendous criminal incident took place:

To address the notes, no one has seen them, we have no idea if she named any names? So may not be relevant.

Her friend coming forward to support her as well as give an opinion on her character. Kavanaugh has an exemplary reputation in his job, as well as his community. President Bush just this morning has given his full support to him, along with many others.

The said polygraph has not been produced or has the person name that did it. Only a media report that one was done by an x-FBI employee. No evidence here Jake... Not sure how Trump came into our conversation. Seems you are obsessed with the man? The Dems have always used dishonest tactics, and their day in the sun has long passed. Think statute of limitation...
What is a statute of limitation?
The term “statute of limitations” means that there is a specific time frame to charge someone with a crime.

You know, like Bill Clinton can no longer be charged for raping and beating Juanita Broaddrick. Now, Keith Ellison, that's a different story.  He should be sitting in a cell. What do you think about Keith? Could you provide a colorful physical description of him? I love your personal insults on peoples physical appearances.  https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/20 … al-docume/

Where do you get your info Sharlee01? The fact is, according to press reports, there is no statute of limitations in the state where the alleged attempted rape occurred so if she chooses to do so, the alleged victim apparently still has the legal right to file criminal charges against Brett and now that her life has essentially been destroyed by right wing lunatic nut jobs, why not file criminal charges against him to ensure an proper and necessary investigation is conducted?:

"Brett Kavanaugh Could Still Face Charges For Attempted Rape In Maryland"

"Maryland has no statute of limitations for attempted rape, and the Attorney General is being encouraged by members of the public to investigate."

                COULD KAVANAUGH FACE STATE CHARGES?

"The allegations Ford detailed to The Washington Post appear to be misdemeanors that would be beyond the statute of limitations under Maryland law, said Randolph Rice, a Baltimore-based attorney who specializes in sex crimes.

The allegations could be interpreted as second-degree assault and a fourth-degree sex offense, Rice said. But both charges are misdemeanors and would be far beyond the statute of limitations, which is typically one or three years, depending on the offense.

lol: Well sharlee01, I'll take the reporting of 'The Hill Reporter' over some accident attorney's blog any day: Your rabid attempted defense of an alleged attempted rapist and dismissive attitude toward the alleged victim even though she has corroborating evidence is still nothing less than shocking to us normal human beings:

Here's another source for you: No statute of limitations for sexual abuse/ assault:

                  Criminal Cases for Sexual Abuse:

Criminal cases are filed by the State of Maryland on behalf of a victim. In order to file criminal charges, you must notify law enforcement of the sexual abuse. The authorities will investigate your claims and a prosecutor may file charges against your abuser. If a suspect is found guilty of criminal conduct, he or she may be sentenced to significant jail time and sex offender registration.

In Maryland, the criminal statute of limitations varies depending on the severity of the offense. The criminal statutes of limitations include:

Felony sexual offenses: no statute of limitations, and
Misdemeanor offenses:  one year from the event.
If you need help determining the correct statute of limitations in your case, contact law enforcement immediately.

Here's another source Sharlee01: There is NO statute of limitations for Rape and or Attempted Rape in the state of Maryland: Assuming there are no changes to the laws: According to this site. there are no statute of limitations for felony crimes:

                  Attempted rape, first degree

Question:What is the statute of limitations for this crime?

Answer: There is no time limit to commence prosecution for any felonies, such as this crime.

Statutory citation(s): 1. Citation for the crime: Md. Code, Crim. Law § 3-309.

                  Citation for the statute of limitations: Massey v. State, 320 Md. 605, 610, 579 A.2d 265, 267 (Md.

                    IT's all in the timing.

Thank you for posting the new changes in the SOL laws as of 2017... All you have posted is correct as of today and came into law in 2017. Prior to 2017 Maryland had a relatively normal SOL. Yes, there is no SOL now, but before 2017 sadly to inform you there was. This new SOL law just does not apply in her case.

Actually, she fell under being a minor when she said the attack occurred.  And plus the law was changed in 2017,  she could have made a report prior to Marylands law change. Maryland did have a pretty normal SOL before 2017, then they changed it to remove SOL on most sex charges. But the new laws just don't apply to people that let the SOL laps before 2017.  Ford let the SOL laps many many moons ago Jake...

"The Law Does Not Help Victims Whose SOL Expired Before October 1, 2017
Another issue with the law is whether it is retroactive to victims whose suits were previously blocked by the old statute of limitations. The answer is “yes” and “no.” According to the wording of the provision, the law does not apply to any victim whose claim would have been barred (past the statute of limitations) prior to the effective date of October 1, 2017. In other words, the law says that it does not apply to any victim who turned 25 prior to October 1, 2017. But, Maryland’s highest court has held that the law extends the statute of limitations for anyone whose claim had not expired on the effective date. So, a victim who turns 25 on October 2, 2017 or anytime thereafter will have until he or she is 38 to bring suit."

In other, simpler terms, Kavanaugh cannot be tried, let alone "found guilty by a jury of his peers" and is thus to be considered innocent?   It is only the "Jury of the Mob" and the political shenanigans of Congressmen and women that can find so-called guilt in this case?  Neither of which requires proof or even evidence; just political power and hatred?

                      Did I get that right?

                      Just to clarify:

Housebill 642 is for "the purpose of altering the statute of limitations in certain civil actions relating to child sexual abuse"(1)(my emphasis)

This means the bill is irrelevant to the allegations made against Kavanaugh for two reasons:

                      1. The offense of child sexual abuse would not be applicable as both parties were minors at the time of the alleged offense. Maryland statute § 5-701 defines sexual abuse as being sexual molestation etc. of a child by "a parent or other person who has permanent or temporary care or custody or responsibility for supervision of a child, or by any household or family member"(2). The alleged incident does not meet that definition.

                      2. The bill relates to "civil" actions (someone's right to sue) not criminal prosecutions.

Based on accounts of the alleged incident currently in the public domain, the applicable offense would be attempted rape.

According to the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) there is currently no statute of limitations for criminal prosecutions of attempted rape in Maryland(3).

Also (as a point of clarification) there is no statute of limitations for criminal prosecution of child sexual abuse in the state of Maryland either.

Therefore, as far as I can tell, Kavanaugh remains in legal jeopardy in relation to a criminal prosecution for attempted rape.

FYI: The alleged victim was tested by and passed a polygraph which means the preponderance of evidence and credibility is absolutely on her side, we are also hearing press reports of potential witnesses who might have been aware of the alleged crime:

Still waiting for 'beattie eyes' Brett to volunteer himself to take a polygraph which we all know will happen about the same time Bozo Trump goes a single day without dishonesty or lying to his little sheep, or not painting his face orange, or when he voluntarily discloses his tax returns that he claims have been under audit for years now to we the people:

We should never believe a woman when she yells "rape" because it's so often made up.

I am pretty offended by Sharlee's comments. However, if I apply a quick sanity check to myself, I recall that when many different women made accusations against Bill Clinton, we all pretty much lined up and said almost exactly what all the conservatives are saying now.

And inevitably, sometime in the future, some other Democrat will be accused of this same thing and the positions will reverse themselves once again.

Proof that we're all just playing politics with these things. Please, somebody step up and show that they have been consistent on this issue no matter the political affiliation of the accused.

That's exactly why we have courts of law in this country, to adjudicate serious allegations such as this so don't be surprised if the alleged victim files a criminal action in the court of jurisdiction: She has nothing to lose now, according to press reports, her life has been ruined already by crazy lunatic right wing nut cases threatening her and her family, so at this point, why not just take it to an outside investigation then to a jury?

The alleged victim is requesting an FBI investigation, Brett must be scared to death of that and the alleged victim has already passed a polygraph test, given his weak character it's a process we'd assume Brett will never agree to: He's a Bozo Trump nominee remember, what does that tell you?

Making the rich richer, the poor poorer and betraying the USA are Bozo Trump's only accomplishments to date and the world will celebrate when the elderly orange traitor is sucking iron bars as penalty for his insanity and kissing the boots of our enemies:

Where's Mr. Transparencies tax returns he promised to reveal? Another ruse: How many years has he been under audit now, must be a record, and why is he under audit to begin with? Too many suspicious Russian transactions perhaps, who really knows at this point what's hidden in the forms?

So the last few remaining Trump fans seem to be at the point where they don't even think about what they're desperately trying to defend him from anymore, it's just an automatic impulse now despite the despicable nature of the incident or atrocity: He endorses an alleged child molester for senate and tries to take everything they own away from them including their healthcare, and they defend him, that my friends is a nothing less than a cult:

But don't worry about your alleged attempted rapist Mr. Kavanot being confirmed because yesterday scarecrow Mitch McConnell already informed what's left of the radical nut case conservative republican base that the 'fix' is already in, long before the alleged victim even utters word one: I knew it and anyone who follows the corrupt, complicit Russian republican party knew it:

Mitch essentially said Brett would soon be on the court and he said it yesterday so obviously we must assume he already has yes vote commitments in his back pocket from republicans Flake, Collins, Corker and Murkowski, all of whom typically express fake outrage and concern but usually end up voting AGAINST their constituents best interest and unfortunately for the people, this case will probably be no different:

And by the way, Stormy Daniels took and passed a lie detector test and it turns out she's victorious in that law suit: So much for Michael Cohen and Bozo Trump's scheme of trying to unlawfully SQUEEZE millions out of her for simply talking about her horrific experience with 'spanky': This is why lie detector tests bolster the credibility of those who are willing to take one:

Talk about slander: Unlike Brett who has not taken a polygraph test, the alleged victim has documented evidence to corroborate her claims of a horrendous crime: Bozo Trump is now being sued by Summer Zervos for the very same type of defamatory lies and comments about her allegations and guess what? A judge has already allowed it to proceed and odds are Bozo is probably in deep legal jeopardy because he has been ordered to answer questions about the case presumably under the penalty of perjury and with his extensively documented severe allergic reactions to the truth, God only knows what he'll say and God only knows what the final result will be:

No comment on your off topic fox loser channel unhealthy 'Hillary Obsession" nonsense, or your 'TWD" 'Trump Worship Disorder' so I'll just leave you with this:

Everyone in the real world knows the law suits and legal actions filed and pending against the orange weirdo blob in our oval office are indeed real, and many his inner circle are headed straight to prison, and that doesn't include the gathering of a mountain of evidence in the criminal investigations which should soon be his doom if we still have laws and thank God for that:

If our legal system and laws allow Bozo Trump to get away with betraying the USA by appearing on national television and asking our arch enemy in front of millions of witnesses to commit espionage and steal secret information electronically or any other way from we the people, I'll be more than SHOCKED at the utter failure of juris-prudence:

If Brett is confirmed as another 'scandal clad' supreme court justice without a proper investigation to uncover the complete truth, a serious unthinkable criminal scandal which heavily leans in the alleged victim's favor due to her corroborating evidence, it will be nothing less than an evil, atrocious subversion of the truth and justice merely for political gain by complicit radical republicans and a few christian false idols:

On MSNBC just a few minutes ago, an expert was pondering WHY Bozo Trump would prod the alleged victim into filing charges NOW: Not hard to believe with an incompetent oval office clown: The commentator went on to assert that there is NO statute of limitations for this type of alleged crime in Montgomery County Maryland which means the opening to file is still an option: Let's see what the alleged victim does:

Jake, MSNBC just never tell the truth or the context of any statements made by our president. Fake news is dangerous   Plus, Trump made a very good point in his tweet.

I have already provided you with the SOL laws in Maryland. To remind you of the law that you are quoting. Yes at this point they have no SOL on Sexual crimes. The law was passed in 2017 and did not apply to anyone before 2017.  Please visit the links I post, they will provide u with facts.I know the truth hurts but here it is. "The committee announced on Friday that the Monday hearing — where both Kavanaugh and his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, had been invited to speak — was being called off.

Instead, Grassley said in a statement Friday that he is giving Ford’s lawyers until 10 p.m. on Friday to respond to the GOP request for her to testify on Wednesday. If they do not, or if Ford declines to testify, Grassley said the Judiciary Committee will vote Monday on Kavanaugh's nomination."... About time he put out an ultimatum. She should except to sit down and tell her story. She has no right to hold up the vote with his kind of antics.  This is one of the more shameful stunts the Dems have pulled.

No, he could not be prosecuted. The SOL law was changed in 2017 to have no limitations. Those that abuse occurred before 2017 the law does not apply. Ford's claim would not be considered due to Maryland laws. I have added the link below that explains the new law as well as old SOL laws. The media has misrepresented the SOL law.or one could say have used it out of context. This should help stop the rumor that Kavanaugh can still be arrested and prosecuted.

So, a victim who turns 25 on October 2, 2017 or anytime thereafter will have until he or she is 38 to bring suit.

But don't worry Sharlee01, regardless of what happens or what the alleged victim says if she does testify, it will mean nothing to the corrupt republicans because the 'fix' is already in: Apparently, scarecrow Mitch McConnell, the idiot who held open a SCS for over a year already has YES votes from republican senators Collins, Murkowski, Flake and Corker, ALL phonies who pretend to actually care"

I'm going to post this again, because it seems you missed it, which is easy to do among the back and forth of different comments:

Housebill 642 (that is the one mentioned in the story you linked to) is for ". . . the purpose of altering the statute of limitations in certain civil actions relating to child sexual abuse"(1)(emphasis added).

This means the bill is irrelevant to the allegations made against Kavanaugh becase:

            1. Both parties were minors at the time of the alleged offense, so it does not meet the definition of child sexual abuse.

Also (though it's a moot point in this case) there is no statute of limitations for criminal prosecution of child sexual abuse in the state of Maryland either.

Therefore, as far as I can tell, Kavanaugh remains in legal jeopardy in relation to a criminal prosecution for attempted rape.

Feel free to provide additional information if you think anything in this comment is factually incorrect.

After reading Sharlee's link, it strongly appears that you are correct - there is nothing there that has anything to do with the Kavanaugh accusations.

However, your links provide almost nothing, either.  Unless she claims Kavanaugh stated "I'm going to rape you" she cannot actually claim anything but "attempted sexual offense"...and that is no longer a crime.  Obviously rape will be her conclusion, but that can only be in her mind - she cannot possible prove that Kavanaugh intended rape rather than a lesser offense.

Someone made a factually incorrect statement about statutes of limitations.

I am merely pointing that out.

I don't have enough information to determine with certainty if a charge of attempted rape can be brought.

But a charge of attempted rape would not be dependent on whether Kavanaugh explicitly stated rape as his intention.

All an interesting courtroom game.  How do you prove "beyond a reasonable doubt" that, even if K admits to trying to pull her clothes off, that his intent was rape?  Was he trying to embarrass her?  Grope her?  Get an incriminating photo?  Impress his buddies?

That "reasonable doubt" thing leaves a huge gap in her assumption that rape was the intent.

Characterizing it as a "game" is distasteful wilderness. I think you know better.

Only an investigation can determine whether there is enough evidence to charge Kavanaugh with a crime. And if he were charged, only a trial could determine whether he is guilty of an offense.

Distasteful, yes, but it is still very much a game.  A game where one lawyer tries to find legal loopholes to get a guilty client off and the other tries to negate evidence to prove guilt.

                    Wilderness,

I agree with your basic premise. If this was a court of law, she has no case, which is why she probably never brought it up before. Even if she went to a police station, the case wouldn't have gone very far. No prosecutor would have taken the case. But this isn't a trial.

Your point about intent is an interesting one. If this is true was his intent rape? If it wasn't his intent, then is he not guilty?

Let me ask you something: if you're standing in the middle of the street and I'm driving my car toward you, looking at my cell phone, and I run you over and kill you, am I innocent of all charges because I didn't intend to run you over?

Actually, many lawyers would disagree with you on this one Don and many attempted rape legal actions have been pursued with the same level of evidence:

An investigation which would ensue if a legal action were pursued would inevitably uncover even more evidence: But, the 'fix' is already in for Brett, McConnell has already informed the right wing crazies that he's gonna just plow through and confirm him despite what the alleged victim says if indeed she testifies:

Yes, you are guilty.  If you drive toward me, swerving at the last moment and miss, are you guilty of attempted murder?

That is the correct comparison, not one where you actually did kill, for the claim is attempted rape and there is no evidence of any attempt to rape.  Even if it is stipulated that Kavanaugh tried to remove clothing there is still no evidence of attempted rape for any such "evidence" is only in the mind of the accuser and cannot be supported (with the "evidence" given at this point, anyway).

A comprehensive investigation would absolutely uncover additional facts pertaining to the alleged attempted rape by Brett and more evidence has already come to light, I hope after she testifies if she does in front a mega-corrupt Russian complicit republican senate which has already 'rigged' and 'fixed' the votes in favor of a man who may have sexually assaulted her, she then files a criminal case to force an investigation:

I guess senators Collins, Murkowski, Corker and Flake have already informed scarecrow McConnell of their YES Votes, even before the alleged victim has said word one: Your hard earned tax dollars and your corrupt republican public servants who have no interest in finding the truth, at work for strictly political gain:

When Ford testifies, we'll find out then if there's enough information to make an investigation at the federal level feasible, and if so, it would be wise of Trump to withdraw support for Kavanaugh.  Her testimony is essential to discover if Kavanaugh MIGHT have done what she claims he did.  Her testimony will make or break her.

The ideological  game here is that simply the allegation of sexual misconduct charge alone that is made is then charge enough for guilt by Kavanaugh haters . Yes, It is broken down among party lines here , that is more than obvious   and vibrantly typical .

Watch as the gathering " troops " line up behind Prof. Ford and immediately  something even bigger than the allegations themselves begins to form;   the political players start to reveal themselves  immediately .  The "Clintonesques Quartet " would be a great name for the Prof. Ford team .

Then that's what we'll see.  The Republicans own the Senate, and can choose to move things along as quickly as they want after Ford's testimony.  If there's nothing to her allegations, it will be clear to us really soon, and the Senate will confirm Kavanaugh.

DISTURBING: Second woman accuser comes forward:

"As Senate Hearing Set For Kavanaugh, a Second Woman Claims Misconduct"

"The New Yorker magazine reported Sunday night that Senate Democrats were investigating a second woman's accusation of sexual misconduct by Kavanaugh dating to the 1983-84 academic year, Kavanaugh's first at Yale University."

"The New Yorker said 53-year-old Deborah Ramirez described the incident in an interview after being contacted by the magazine. Ramirez recalled that Kavanaugh exposed himself at a drunken dormitory party, thrust his penis in her face, and caused her to touch it without her consent as she pushed him away, the magazine reported."

Imagine that, Brett nominated by another self absorbed alleged woman abuser Bozo Trump who will soon be forced to answer questions under oath in a Summer Zervos' defamation law suit pending against him: They'd make a great couple, in prison:

Oh My GOD, and then there's Michael Avenatti who never bluffs about anything: He tweeted this message of warning:

"I represent a woman with credible information regarding Judge Kavanaugh and Mark Judge. We will be demanding the opportunity to present testimony to the committee and will likewise be demanding that Judge and others be subpoenaed to testify. The nomination must be withdrawn."

Why do I ask ? (he denied the act). I also reminded him she took money from Cohen not to discuss the fact that she had sex with Trump. Seems if Trump actually slept with her which there is no evidence of, she shook him down for cash to keep quiet about it. Let's face it if Trump cheated on his wife, he certainly is a poor husband, and cares little about his marriage, and showed poor moral values. Now her, she sold her body for money, I consider that disgusting, and immoral. Plus shaking someone down for cash, that's just a sleazy.

I have not seen anywhere where it's been asserted that Stormy Daniels blackmailed Donald Trump. That is certainly a new one. From everything that I've seen and read, Michael Cohen and Donald Trump drafted an agreement and paid Stormy Daniels the money so she would not discuss having had sex with Donald Trump. That would seem to be proof that he had sex with Stormy Daniels, but you seem to be asserting that Trump did not have sex with her, but paid her off because she threatened to reveal an affair that didn't really happen.

As long as you accept reality which I do but many Trump fans still obviously don't, it really didn't take a genius to arrive at the logical conclusion that this despicable Kavanaugh scandal just might take a drastically mega-disturbing dark turn into 'Cosby-Land' but that's what it looked like to me and unfortunately for all the women coming forward to express their heart stopping, unimaginably painful allegations, my hunch appears to be correct if the latest news is accurate:

UNREAL Explosion *******: So not only must Kavanaugh be disqualified from our supreme court, he now faces serious criminal allegations which could indeed jeopardize his current position:

        SHOCKING ** SHOCKING ** SHOCKING **

"New Kavanaugh accuser Julie Swetnick details parties where she says girls were drugged and raped"

"The lawyer Michael Avenatti on Wednesday identified another accuser of Supreme Court pick Brett Kavanaugh, Washington resident Julie Swetnick."

"Swetnick, in an affidavit posted online by Avenatti, claims that Kavanaugh, as a high school student in the early 1980s, with others spiked the drinks of girls at house parties with grain alcohol and/or drugs to "cause girls to lose inhibitions and their ability to say 'No.' "

"Swetnick said these efforts by Kavanaugh and his buddy Mark Judge were done so the girls "could then be 'gang raped' in a side room or bedroom by a 'train' of numerous boys."

The latest accuser of horrendous crimes which she says Kavanaugh committed, testified under penalty of prosecution, she's also a government employee who holds several clearances:

No surprise one of the prime witnesses, a creepy character named Mark Judge who was placed at the scene with beattie eyes Brett appears to be in hiding: ALL the alleged victims so far against Kavanaugh, and we must assume there could be many more to come, are willing to destroy their lives and testify under oath with the penalty of perjury hanging over them while Brett refuses to take a polygraph and his reported friend, a main witness appears to be scared to death of being found:

"How’d you find me?’: Mark Judge has been holed up in a beach house in Delaware amid a media firestorm"

I hope everyone is watching Bozo Trump's astoundingly disturbing press conference or, clown show right now: One more public example of why this sick elderly man must be removed from our oval office immediately:

Incoherent sentences, incomplete sentences, hate, anger, excessive complaining, whining and crying, agitation, lies, false facts, false accusations of fake news, talking in circles, ignorance, narcissistic babblings, ramblings rants, switching from topic to topic, stumbling, retarded hand gestures, repeating words etc:

It's horrifying to think this disturbed old man still has the keys to our white house and he's the guy who nominated Brett Kavanaugh to our supreme court on top of it: Now do you know why all these criminal allegations are surfacing against Brett?:

How do you rest when the USA is crumbling to the ground? This country is in an unprecedented dire crisis in which our democracy is at stake and insiders have corroborated it: When the USA and the world is safe from the incoherent mental case in our oval office who is sabotaging our healthcare and who betrays us by siding with Vladimir Putin over his own law enforcement, then yes, maybe I'll rest:

BTW Sharlee01, don't be surprised if Michael Avenatti files criminal charges against 'beattie eyes' Brett and don't be surprised if he's convicted and joins Bill Cosby as cell mate, shortly thereafter to be joined by the orange blob:

In reality Wesman, all of that I described in my previous comment does indeed describes Bozo Trump's disastrously erratic and bizarre press conference today, if that's what you call it: He has serious concentration problems with a 2 minute non-teleprompter speech and today he went on and on babbling about nonsense at time for about 80 minutes which just re-inforced Yale and Harvard experts assertions that he's a danger to our republic:

According to reports, we are up to 5 accusers so far and it doesn't take a genius to believe there will be more:

Instead of trying desperately to spread right wing propaganda you should watch the hearing, all of your false claims have been answered and MORE, especially Dr. Ford's 100% certainty that Brett was the perpetrator of this heinous crime, she also said he was inebriated at the time which is not a defense and Dr. Ford passed a polygraph test in which Brett has yet to do:

In reality, according to shocking press reports this whole Kavanot nightmare is headed straight into Bill Cosby land: Brett Kavanot will be extremely lucky to avoid prison after ALL the accusers have come forward:

If 'Beattie Eyes' Brett is with Mr. Trump, he is absolutely evil just like alleged child molester Roy Moore which Donald told his cultees to vote for, YES, he actually told his voters to vote for an alleged pedophile so his support for this Kavanaugh radical is no surprise: UNREAL:

Today, after we hear his crying and old boring blaming the Clintons for his dire situation similar to Bozo Trump's insane unhinged outbursts, I'm waiting to see if Brett was able to take a polygraph and if said results will be submitted to this republican kangaroo court; Dr Ford has the significant edge in credibility due to her positive polygraph test results and additional corroborating evidence while Brett has nothing but his Trump style rants:

Then, after that, if he actually submits solid evidence, he needs to immediately get some ongoing professional mental help because this public breakdown is very hard to watch and could be a sign of serious underlying problems:

Dr. Ford has more credibillity??? What freakin' planet are you from?  I watched enough of the proceedings today that I've no doubt that Ford is telling the truth - she was attacked.  And I've no doubt that Kavanaugh's telling the truth - he didn't do it.  But what is also clear is that the Democrats dragged Ford through the mud by holding on to the information in the letter so they could use her for their own purposes  - it's crystal clear.  Their desire for an FBI investigation is absolutely one thing, delay.  They've no interest in what the FBI would find, because they know the FBI would find nothing that hasn't already been discussed.

This current crop of Democrats in the Senate disgust me.  What a pack of inhuman dogs.  Kavanaugh didn't deserve any of this, and Ford could have been spared if Diane Fine Fiend had done the right thing and brought that letter forward.  I simply can't believe what the Democrats did to both these people, and in particular Kavanaugh.  I was livid while watching this, this freakin' circus, watching a man SUFFER needlessly while people pretending to care about Dr. Ford posed meaningless questions to Kavanaugh, often asking questions that had already been asked, or already answered by him.

These inhuman dogs sought to destroy a man's career and family, and at the same time they denigrated a person whom they pretended to be helping, all in the name of preventing a conservative judge from getting to the bench.  These Democratic senators, most of them anyway, are EVIL.

Breaking BIG ********: During the insane Trump era, where the destruction of this once great nation seems to be the primary objective of our oval office complicit with the conservative congress, the're's very little effort to hide the unprecedented level of despicable republican corruption:

"Brett Kavanaugh’s Damaging, Revealing Partisan Bitterness"

"A Senate confirmation hearing for a Supreme Court nominee is a political affair, not a court proceeding. But when the topic is alleged criminal wrongdoing by the nominee, the distinction can start to blur. We, the public, may feel more like a jury considering evidence than a boss considering an applicant for an important job. Thursday’s hearing, with testimony by Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, was supposedly intended to reveal whether there was truth to Ford’s allegation that Kavanaugh attempted to rape her, by providing testimony from each of them under oath. But the Senate Judiciary Committee’s focus on whether Kavanaugh did what he was accused of gave way to partisan recriminations about whether the process for considering that question was fair. The damage to the legitimacy of the Supreme Court and the Senate confirmation process is incalculable, whether or not Kavanaugh is confirmed."
