   I watched the State of the Union and I agreed with some of the proposals that Obama put forward.  I do doubt his ability to achieve them but all in all I watched the man that is the President of the United States give a speech.  That is what I watched and this morning I woke up to see this.

         It does not cross my mind at all either.  Obama is a well educated articulate man and a good father and husband at least in appearances.
         
         I disagree with him most times but to me he is just the POTUS

   I'm not trying to take up for the way he put this, but I don't think he meant it as bad as it sounded. I think he just meant that the fact that Obama is black has become an irrelevant issue. That people (particularly himself) have finally started to let it go and accept he is our leader.

      So you think that people who didn't vote for him didn't vote for him because he's black? If that's how you look at it you are a racist.  Most people who didn't vote for him didn't believe him.

         There is no situation in which what Matthews said could really be explained away.  What did Matthews think, that Condoleeza Rice was black all the time because he didn't agree with her?

            Ok, why am I racist?? All I'm saying is maybe the guy really didn't mean to come off like a jack off.   Every time someome misspeaks, it's always taken to the extreme. I'm not debating the issue of race, I'm debating the issue of interpretation.
            
            I'm sure you've never said anything that you meant in a good or "not bad" way and someone twisted it to make you look like the a-hole?

                  What I was trying to say was that maybe people that didn't vote for him and don't want him in office are finally accepting he is our leader whether they want him there or not.
