Most parents inculcate their children w/their particular ideology whether it is religious, sociocultural, educational, familial, &/or socioeconomic. Most parents don't encourage their children to think &/or believe outside of their particular paradigm. In fact, children are rewarded or punished in accordance to adhering to this familial paradigm. Children who adhere to the paradigm are considered to be good/manageable while children who refuse to adhere to the paradigm are considered to be difficult/unmanageable. Your thoughts? Why are most parents fearful of raising independent thinking children?
You are so correct, GMW. Although I was using it in the following faction without knowing "cleave" means both to "separate" from and "unite" with. I say the Bible's "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall 'cleave' unto his wife: and the [two] shall be one [in their] flesh" is telling us to stop doing just that. But to understand that we need to know if Eve was "woven from" Adam caused him to name her wo(ven from)man he was also woven from her and they both are woman.
If one accepts that premise and recognize what you said, the foregoing quote means "to become man again" one has to leave parental teachings that "boys are not to do girl things nor girls to do boy things." They are to produce both in each of their own fleshes and mean either Adam's "Yin or Yang" was removed from him to make them each be one or the other of those attributes. I've explained it in my hub "Why Be Born Again" in details if you are interested in it because that is what Jesus was referring to when he said it.

Religion as brainwashing? When children are "trained" to behave in a certain way for 10-15 years, is this brainwashing? We see similar behaviour in the Middle East, terrorism training, is it similar?
