The Ukraine whistleblower’s attorney Mark Zaid has been warning President Trump of a pending coup since 2017.  Zaid has been a critic of the president long before he was hired to represent the whistleblower that triggered the House impeachment proceeding.

In 2017, Zaid tweeted that Trump was facing a “rebellion” that would eventually lead to impeachment.

    #coup has started. First of many steps. #rebellion. #impeachment will follow ultimately. #lawyers https://twitter.com/jaketapper/status/8 … 4610729985

Are we looking at treason? Is Adam Schiff Involved up to his eyeballs?

treason --- the crime of betraying one's country, especially by attempting to kill the sovereign or overthrow the government.

      U.S. Code § 2381.Treason
      U.S. Code

Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

I rather doubt you could make a legal claim of treason stand up.

Not sure if a case could be made. I guess if there was enough physical evidence like his tweets one could say his words are pretty clear. I hope this attorney is questioned by Durham...  His tweets, as well as his line of work, make this all too interesting. This man certainly is either brazen or just stupid?

Another thread has someone saying that Trump is treasonous because he is aiding Russian in their "cyber war" against the US.

Such claims are just so much baloney; it takes a lot more than some creative thinking to prove that someone is aiding and abetting a foreign nation in waging war on the US. While I might agree that the common concept of treason is applicable, that is a far cry from proving it in a court of law, using the US legal code as a definition of the word.

I have to ask... Don't you think a lot of political crimes are being overlooked as of the past 30 years? We have laws that govern our government officials, maybe time to enforce a few.  It seems very half ass-backward. Accuse a person of a crime and then look for factual evidence.

Personally, I think the large majority of crimes by our politicians are being covered up or ignored.  The rich and powerful don't fall under the same system as the rest of we peons.
