I am very impressed with mayor pete. He is a veteran, a two term mayor, speaks 7 languages, and has the endorsement of President Obama. He is also probably the best speaker among the democratic candidates. I am hoping that he gets the nomination. However, he will have to have a very strong running mate to go up against Trump.
Who I am hoping will get impeached so he doesn't have to.

My main worry is that people will not care about his military service, his talents, and his public service record, just because he is gay. And, I am sure that republicans will use the gay card against him. To which I am sure Pete is thinking Bring it on bitches!

My other worry is that that democrats like Sanders and Biden will be so bust snubbing each other, that nobody will hear what they have to offer. Which is why I think Pete will be the better choice. Out with these old stuck in the quagmire politics as usual, and get someone in there with some vision for the future.

I have liked Mayor Pete from the beginning. He is the polar opposite of Trump: well spoken, well educated, a military veteran, composed, thoughtful, able to express love and compassion. I can imagine him standing next to Trump on a debate stage and making him look like the boorish, cowardly, ignorant bully that he is. That said, I have no idea how much being gay would affect his ability to win. He also is struggling to gain approval from certain key demographics that traditionally vote Democratic.

I am opposed to a Biden or Bloomberg candidacy but could enthusiastically get behind any other Democratic candidate. Mayor Pete would currently be my third or fourth choice, though, as there are more qualified candidates running for the nomination.

Impressive, but still too young and inexperienced. He needs to win a statewide election such as governor or U.S. Senator for the sake of credibility. Then he'll be ready.

I like him, I do, but the goal for 2020, in my opinion, should be to appeal to the largest majority possible and I don't think Buttigieg does for various reasons.

I think it's also a drawback that he is trying to go from being Mayor of South Bend, Indiana (301st largest city in the US) to president; a huge leap. Does that mean he couldn't do a good job? No, but he'd get pummeled for lack of experience.

I'd like to see Buttigieg run for governor or Senate, to strengthen his experience. If he did that successfully, I think he'd be a more viable candidate for the presidency, or VP later on in his career.
