This should remind us of Mr. Obama's inauguration again, when his approval ratings were around 80%. This latest indicator suggests that HE IS DOING PRETTY WELL (and this assessment INCLUDES HEALTHCARE. Now if we could get a PUBLIC OPTION in there, we'd be in business.

Here is the FACTS about your Claim:

"CBS reported earlier in the week that 83 percent of viewers had a positive reaction to the State of the Union address."

"A Positive Reaction" and approval are NOT the same thing.

Here is another useless poll about Obama's Support by the Public.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/01/3 … 40850.html

Why are the numbers so different? This one says Obama's Approval rating is 48% and this Poll was taken AFTER the State of the Union Address.

    Gee the Health Care bill.

No option for the disabled.  In fact if an American is declared disabled by the Federal Government they have to wait 24 months before they can apply for Medicare.

24 months they can get no help.  This is how we treat the disabled.  You bet it is... because this is the law!

Neither the House or Senate Bills for Health Care Reform address this issue.

The FACT of the matter is the more you dig into these terrible bills the more you realize just how bad they are.

    Public Option?  Please.

Obamas Actions and his words do not EVER match.

Obama told the American People he would give them 5 days to review any bills... then did he actually do this with Health Care?  No. He tried to force it through with no public review at all!

Polls mean nothing.  This is Political Pandering.

Of course, I disasgree with you vehemently about the public option, but there it is. I agree with you that there is very little to help the disabled. We have to be rational here. Don't just lash out before you think things through. Government (like everything else) has ACCOUNTABILITY MEASURES and that's us the voters. Without these accountability measures, we would have "GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS/POLITICIANS gone wild" which is already happening.

"CBS reported earlier in the week that 83 percent of viewers had a positive reaction to the State of the Union address."

How do you disagree with this quote which is straight out of the very CBS source you reference.

You rewrote the Headline to suit your needs.  The FACT is clearly stated in the report which I gave reference to.

These are the REAL numbers.  The state of the Union Address had very little effect on Approval.  Historically the State of Union Address has had little or no effect on approval ratings.

    Those are the FACTS!

This is the Gallop Poll numbers.  One of the most respected if not the most respected polling Organization. Published January 26, 2010.

    http://www.gallup.com/poll/125396/Presi … Union.aspx

Just because you want something to be true, doesn't make it fact.

    Bottom Line

"President Obama's first State of the Union speech comes at a time when his approval ratings are below the majority level. Thus, he has an opportunity to win back the support of some Americans who no longer approve of the job he is doing. Typically, presidents have not been able to capitalize on the opportunity the State of the Union presents. Obama's ability to do so may depend as much on getting his non-supporters to tune in as on the quality of the speech he gives."

I am unable to believe in any poll at this stage of this ludicrous game which is being played with our country....in fact, I was informed of most of what was going to be in that speech and the night before published a hub warning people to take heed and not have faith in what was going on....it is just another deception....Haven't any of you got the drift???   It has been one deception after another, and when you cut air traffic control, education funding, and several other good things and hide all of this is a candy wrapped message to lure approval....well, what else am I able to say???

Oh, let's not forget about all the hidden adgenda in the HEALTHCARE BILL???????  APPROVAL RATES ARE FALSE!!!

DO NOT fall for this poll, it is yet another deceit...as was the address.....truth.

Taking away support for Israel, not funding our moon missions, putting all of the people out of the gulf who work there for there is no oil funding anymore, losing oil properties WE could have drilled and had our Americans working left to communist countries to drill....the list goes on and on....support????    He is not supporting us, so how in the heck am I able to even THINK about support for someone who puts communists in the white house???   Forget about it!!!!

And obviously the healthcare bill was not read which a copy of was posted in one of my hubs to find all the deception in IT!!!

Right on!!! Does anyone seriously believe the media is not being manipulated by big business and the politicos? You want truth? Look at the people losing their jobs, their homes and their insurance coverage. There is the truth.

There seems to be a bit of a tipoff:  83% of those who WATCHED the speech approved?  Okay...so...what % of likely voters watched the speech in the first place?  Because 83% of those who DIDN'T watch the speech may well NOT have approved...eh?
