Is the Radicalization of the Right and Muslims Different?

This is not to say the belief sets of the radical Right and the radical Muslims are the same - they are not and are, if fact, diametrically opposed.  But how different are the methods used conservative Imams to produce suicide bombers and the conservative radical Right leaders (Q for example) to get Americans to attack their own Capitol where police were murdered and injured and politician's lives, on the Right and Left, were threatened?

In the view of many experts, there is little difference.

This is why your name is Mr. Esoteric for you pose such interesting posts.   Yes, the radical right and fundamentalist Muslims are extremists.  There is very little difference in their ideology.  They are rightists believe it or not.  Fundamentalists are rightists regardless of their religion.

Yes, Mr. Esoteric, I like your thoughtful questions. I have believed this very thing. A radical is a radical regardless of whether their philosophies agree. I think you should also thrown in the Christian Church. Their methods used in Europe suggests that they, too, were no different from the Muslims or the Trump supporters. The church got its just desserts when it killed most of the cats in Europe. Then the rats proliferated and spread the plague that killed, approximately half of the population. Then came the reformation, so think of the Salem witch trials and the witch trials of Europe. History repeats itself.
This is why I could never be a Pauline Christian again after I realized that a radical is a radical or a zealot is a zealot regardless of what kind of clothing he wears -- wolf or sheep.

When a movement uses radical methods to enforce its beliefs, it doesn't matter whether they are following Donald Trump, the Ayatollah Khomeni or even Bernie Sanders, were he to ever get that far. The very use of the methods signifies that the majority of the people don't want to go along with them.

The Marxists used force to do away with a cruel monarchy in Russia, but replaced it with a communist regime equally cruel, so were the people any better off? That regime lasted approximately 70 years before it was overthrown. In speaking with many of these people, I found that they had hope, but they also feared being taken over by the Russian Mafia, as they called it. Then this actually happened. President Putin, their current leader, was a leader in the Russian Mafia. So it seems that once a country has been corrupted, it is very difficult for it to see its way into any kind of democratic freedom. Are we going to let that happen here?

To see the horned demon who calls himself the Q Shaman leading a mob breaking into our nation's Capitol, and all the while shouting "Freedom", is no better than a Marxist mob or a Nazi Army. It kind of reminds me of a dog chasing a car. What is that dog going to do it it catches the car? I don't think these people know.

Sorry, I realize that you only asked about Muslims and Trumpers, but there are so many good examples that I couldn't resist throwing them in, too.

How similar are the methods used?  Not even close.

One uses a lifetime of indoctrination into a religion promising virgins for everyone, with constant harassment and violence from early childhood if the religious tenets are not followed.  This is followed by hard training in camps dedicated to killing all infidels or anyone else not accepting the religious tenets.  Notice that the entire thing rotates around a god and those that profess to be god's mouthpiece.

The other only offered an example of how some simple improvements could be made to everyday life in the country.  No religion, no indoctrination, no violence, no calls to murder 70% of the world's population, no lifetime of harassment, no training camps.

    What are the "simple improvements?"

ah ... those simple improvements which help us survive.
Thank you reminding us and making it clear as a bell!

Somehow, they keep forgetting the benefits of being able to survive!

LOL  While this things may not sound very simple, they pale when compared with supplying 72 virgins for an eternity in heaven.  For that matter, so does surviving!

I would think it would be obvious, to even a casual observer, that questions such as the one posed by the OP indicate the surreal train of thought created by indoctrination. Indoctrination that causes the opposition to simple solutions (such as the ones you offer).

The inability to reasonably accommodate the inevitability of opposing views is our biggest problem here in the US.

Maybe thats it: Our democrat leaders want the easy answer.

But where is the easy answer?
Oh yeah, the rich can pay for the poor.

The rich, the filthy rich ... who they hate.
So, why would the rich even stick around?

The oh, so cleaver leaders, trying to fix everything from their lofty positions, will be scratching their heads, as the rich do not (stick around).

...and the radical Left in a category all of their own making, propped up by their elitist leftist leaders, those who, in some sick, morbid way, feel that this category, insures their own job security and gives longevity to their money-making, power trip positions, as "leaders".

Those who keep them in business; roaming and behaving as packs of wild animals in the night, searching for the weakest among them to prey upon, such as small businesses. But, they don't stop there, knowing there are items of greater value in the larger, established department and big box stores.

They'll post videos of the pummeling of a senior citizen, the burning of the American flag, the mock hanging of the President they were taught to hate (they know these actions will get them 'likes' in their realm)
They seek to destroy anything in their sights, including memorials, if they do not deem them worthy of existence OR just for the helluva it!

Feeling so empowered, as they break glass, enter into private businesses (uncaring and unfeeling as to who built the business or what it will do to the families who depend on them to be there, when they return to their jobs) they take their armloads of merchandise, they feel entitled to taking, to either hand off to their waiting accomplices or place in the trunks of their very nice cars.

They do not even wait for the cover of night with their death chants; chants of "pigs in a blanket, fry em like bacon" and "what do we want? Dead cops. When do we want it? Now."

You forgot the last chapter M.E.

extremists are extremists and extremist don't follow any religion. extremisim is never taught in any religion. I am a Muslim and I know what Islam teaches us. Not only Islam no religion teaches you anything bad. And Humanity is above all religions, castes and creeds.

Once I heard from someone saying not all Muslims are extremist but this is also true that all extremists are Muslims. By your question, I got my answer , and that is not every extremist is a Muslim.

The sad part of the story is that extremists or the people involved in such things just use the name of religion to protect themselves.

Abwilliams' post is just such a great example of the programming on full display.  The constant use of the term radical to describe those on the left as a means of dehumanization so that when it comes to a call for violence, it will be excusable.  And she's bought in all the way by parroting that hatred here.

Giving a recap of the events of the past year is "parroting hate" Valeant?

Horrible attempt to deflect the point of my post.

Adding labels to dehumanize your opposition is certainly part of the radicalization referred to in the original post.  I find that a means of spewing hate, yes.

M.E. can use the words Radical and Right together, but if I dare use the words Radical and Left together, I am "parroting hate", thanks for reminding me why I do not spend as much time here in the forums as you do.

Left or right, Christian or Muslim, QAnon or (can someone supply an opposite ideology?). Radicalization arises from the same core issues. This had been studied exrtensively.
