    Republicans introduce 'Women's Bill of Rights' to protect accomplishments, ensure safety of biological females

    "The bill states that the Women's Bill of Rights is necessary to establish in order to "reaffirm legal protections afforded to women under Federal law" due to that face that males and females have unique biological differences, which increases as they age.

    The lawmakers' bill says that due to biological differences, only females are able to "get pregnant, give birth, breastfeed children." In addition, males are larger and possess greater strength than females due to biology. The text also states that females are subjected to more specific forms of violence, including sexual violence.

    Despite these biological differences, the lawmakers point out that women have succeeded in education, athletic and other accomplishments, and due to "misguided court rulings related to the definition of ‘sex,'" that has endangered "spaces and resources" dedicated to women, the bill is necessary to clarify terms in order to afford women protections.

    "While radical liberals strip away the progress and protections that generations of women fought to achieve, Republicans must fight back and acknowledge these basic biological truths. As the father of three daughters, I’m proud to co-lead this resolution reaffirming the legal protections afforded to them under federal law," Banks continued."

      That "protection" may just be another right wing ruse disguising patriachy or paternalism.

        How? How is protecting the right of biological females against men who are pretending to be females?

          Cmon, Mike, there is more to this bill than the biological female verses male issue. Republicans are all about denying rights not restoring or granting them.

            I don't see your logic.  There are too many men who think they are women stealing medals in sports, taking spots as the first "female," etc.

            There is NOTHING else in this bill other than protecting the rights of biological females from men who think they're women.

        I agree.

        If anything, there needs to be a wiping away of sex identification, not additional efforts to identify and separate.

        When society accepts the inclusion of all who identify as women, as women, we will have reached a more inclusive and aware civil society.

        Until then, we must fight these draconian concepts and sexist ideas on all fronts, especially when they are trying to codify discrimination into the law.

          No, I don't agree with that, a man is a man and a woman is a woman at the genetic level. I just don't trust Republicans to address this without otherwise making inroads into the rights women already have.

            You might want to read the bill before commenting on it.

            Here is an article with a link to the proposed bill.  It is not a difficult read as the bill is only 3 pages long.

              I did read it, Mike, but you know what they say, the devil is in the details...

              In combination with the abortion controversy and concern of woman regarding their rights, the Republicans now offer this?

              I could just be paranoid, as you say. But, if they do anything of benefit, I will have to see it first.

            That is the same type of antiquated and morally reprehensible argument that has been used in the past to divide people according to race.

            "At the genetic level"...

              I cannot deny your reasoning on this point

              The fact that women are different than men does not mean that they are any less equal.

              It is conservative ideas that associate negative connotation with those that are different from them.

              I work hard at trying not to be this way, but a horse cannot be a chicken regardless at to how much it may cluck.

    I don't see a copy of this "bill of rights", but if it includes the same protections for males I might support it.

      Do you really think biological males need protection in sports, etc. from biological females?

    Short but sweet...  I support this bill as written.

    H.Res.1136 - Establishing a Women's Bill of Rights to reaffirm legal protections afforded to women under Federal law.
    Source https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-con … /1136/text

                                                           RESOLUTION

    Establishing a Women’s Bill of Rights to reaffirm legal protections afforded to women under Federal law.

    Whereas males and females possess unique and immutable biological differences that manifest prior to birth and increase as they age and experience puberty;

    Whereas biological differences between the sexes mean that only females may get pregnant, give birth, and breastfeed children;

    Whereas biological differences between the sexes mean that males are, on average, larger in size and possess greater body strength than females;

    Whereas biological differences between the sexes can expose females to more harm than males from specific forms of violence, including sexual violence;

    Whereas women have achieved inspirational and significant accomplishments in education, athletics, and employment; and

    Whereas recent misguided court rulings related to the definition of “sex” have led to endangerment of spaces and resources dedicated to women, thereby necessitating clarification of certain terms: Now, therefore, be it

    Resolved, That the House of Representatives reaffirms that—

    (1) for purposes of Federal law, a person’s “sex” means his or her biological sex (either male or female) at birth;

    (2) for purposes of Federal law addressing sex, the terms “woman” and “girl” refer to human females, and the terms “man” and “boy” refer to human males;

    (3) for purposes of Federal law, the word “mother” means a parent of the female sex and “father” is defined as a parent of the male sex;

    (4) there are important reasons to distinguish between the sexes with respect to athletics, prisons, domestic violence shelters, restrooms, and other areas, particularly where biology, safety, and privacy are implicated;

    (5) policies and laws that distinguish between the sexes are subject to intermediate constitutional scrutiny and permitted when they serve an important governmental objective and are substantially related to achieving that objective; and

    (6) for purposes of complying with Federal laws that require State and local government agencies to collect or report data disaggregated by sex, such as Federal antidiscrimination laws, agencies are required to base such data on the biological sex of individuals at birth.
