How many DOJ agents are there?
The Department of Justice includes over 4,500 employees who are engaged in a variety of law enforcement and legal services.
Who are the members of the DOJ?
The Department of Justice – or “DOJ” – is the agency responsible for enforcing the federal law of the United States. The Attorney General of the United States – appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate – heads the DOJ with its more than 100,000 attorneys, special agents, and other staff.
So why in the hell do we once again need a special counsel to investigate Trump for taking classified documents from the White House, and if he had a part in the Jan 6th riot?
I mean, he either broke laws or he did not. In my view, this is purely political and uncalled for. Most likely unconstitutional.
Thoughts welcome
Because a special counsel, set up and appointed by very biased people demanding a guilty verdict, can be designed to be just as biased as those setting it up.
On the other hand it might be difficult to pick and choose among those 100,000 DOJ people to find the bias desired without it becoming obvious. Not that it won't anyway, but at least it can look a little better.
When it comes to Trump, there is always an excuse regarding any adverse information that involves him. The entire world is guilty, if Trump is not declared innocent and absolved of blame.
I repeat --- The Department of Justice – or “DOJ” – is the agency responsible for enforcing the federal law of the United States. The Attorney General of the United States – appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate – heads the DOJ with its more than 100,000 attorneys, special agents, and other staff.
So, how many more investigations are needed? How many more accusations? Have you ever stood still long enough to ask yourself why? Why did the DOJ with all the great legal minds not found anything to indite Trump on? Why has actually none of the previous investigations fallen flat, no indictments?
So, the DOJ now hires a special counsel, as they did in 2016.
Do you really buy into all of this sh-t? No really
Trump either broke laws or he did not. My point is so simple --- The DOJ has literally hundreds of legal minds, one would think they could find a law Trump truely broke. This bunch has done one investigation after another. When is enough, enough?
My anger is great, and it sickens me to see this kind of corruption going on in America. What sickens me more is that many Americans are willing to continue with this kind of BS.
This is so ridiculous it defies any logic. It is so nauseating to think anyone, I mean anyone with any common sense would buy into this kind of political corruption.
This country is shot.
Those are ongoing investigations. Since Trump made a formal announcement of his intentions to run in the next election, per the justice department regulations, Garland was right to appoint a special counsel.
§ 600.1 Grounds for appointing a Special Counsel.
The Attorney General, or in cases in which the Attorney General is recused, the Acting Attorney General, will appoint a Special Counsel when he or she determines that criminal investigation of a person or matter is warranted and -
(a) That investigation or prosecution of that person or matter by a United States Attorney's Office or litigating Division of the Department of Justice would present a conflict of interest for the Department or other extraordinary circumstances; and
(b) That under the circumstances, it would be in the public interest to appoint an outside Special Counsel to assume responsibility for the matter.
