Current News - so if you are busy looking there, instead of here. You might want to have a look at the current news.  Or maybe look the other way, and just not even consider what this president did, that certainly skirts the law.   Sand can choke one if one swallows enough of it.

Chairman Comer’s Statement on Transcribed Interview with Kathy Chung
WASHINGTON—House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) issued the following statement on today’s transcribed interview with Kathy Chung, who served as assistant to Joe Biden when he was Vice President:

“I thank Kathy Chung for her cooperation with the Oversight Committee’s investigation into President Biden’s mishandling of classified documents. She provided startling information that undermines the Biden White House’s narrative on the matter.

“Today we learned that when Joe Biden left the vice presidency, boxes containing classified documents, vice presidential records, and other items were stored in three different locations around the Washington, D.C. area, including an office near the White House, an office in Chinatown, and eventually the Penn Biden Center. At some point, the boxes containing classified materials were transported by personal vehicles to an office location. The boxes were not in a ‘locked closet’ at the Penn Biden Center and remained accessible to Penn Biden employees as well as potentially others with access to the office space. We need to find out who had access to these documents.

“We also learned today that then-White House Counsel Dana Remus tasked Kathy Chung with retrieving these boxes from the Penn Biden Center as early as May 2022. This story does not begin in November 2022, as represented by President Biden’s attorney.

“In the coming days, the Oversight Committee will follow up with persons of interest in this investigation.”

Really?   This is so beyond inexcusable and shows Biden was literally knowledgeable about having the documents but was changing the locations of the documents. In my view, he has committed a crime by keeping and hiding these documents.

Again the timeline speaks loudly of a possible crime to keep and conceal the documents.

" “We also learned today that then-White House Counsel Dana Remus tasked Kathy Chung with retrieving these boxes from the Penn Biden Center as early as May 2022. This story does not begin in November 2022, as represented by President Biden’s attorney. "

Look here not there ---  Maybe time to have a look-see at who sits in the White House presently, what he is up to, and what he has done in his past.

As I ask almost weekly, what next? LOL

Merrick Garland appointed Robert Hur, a veteran federal prosecutor, as a special counsel to investigate Biden's handling of classified documents. What has come of it?
As far as Chung goes "she repeatedly explained that she was unaware that there were alleged classified documents at the Penn Biden Center until November 2022, when the documents were first discovered by counsel for President Biden."  Raskin said in a statement.

Raskin added Republicans "knowingly misrepresented" her role  "and promoted a baseless, outrageous, & racist conspiracy theory about her," to create a mirage of fake evidence for their empty attacks on President Biden."

I don't know, it's looking like a whole lotta nothing but if this committee comes up with anything chargeable I'm sure they'll pass it on to the DOJ.

Did he try to overturn an election?

    1. Sharlee01 profile image78
Sharlee01posted 12 months agoin reply to this

Not sure Biden did anything to overturn the election.  At any point, he is responsible for his own actions. And Biden and his family are under investigation for various issues. One such investigation is why he took and kept documents that he left the White House as VP. He had no right to take documents under the law.

So, we can compare the crimes both men are being investigated for. I find it hard to weigh crimes. So, I will leave it at that.

Not surprising I'm sure, but I don't find it hard to weigh crimes. Overturning an election and inciting an insurrection on our Capitol are not equivalent to mishandling documents (which seems to happen at an alarming frequency by our elected officials on both sides. And whether or not you comply with legal entities who ask for them back matters to me as well.)

False equivalencies matter to me a lot.

Sharlee01posted 12 months agoin reply to this

What crimes are you weighing? Your comment is confusing. There is no proof that Trump did anything to overturn the election -- in fact, the election was not overturned. There is not even evidence that Trump incited anything.

Trump cooperated with the Archives to let them take any document they wanted. Whereas Biden hide documents in three locations that were not secured. It has now been reported in May of 2022 some documents were moved from his Penn office to Chinatown.  So I guess if we weighed how Trump handled documents compared to how Biden handled documents We would see Biden had no regard for the documents at all.

What do you think about Biden storing documents in three locations, one in Chinatown? None under lock or key. He lied about the timeline that he became aware he had documented. He claimed he became aware of the document in Nov 2022, yet the Documents were moved by Kathy Chung to Cjina town in May of 2022. I would like answers. Yet this report has been well hidden by most news outlets.

In my view Biden needs to be questioned on why he had documents, and why they were in three different places and lied about when he became aware of the documents. It well appears this Kathy Chung has been truthful, and helping Congres.

Do you feel Biden's document stash should be ignored? It is being investigated and appears he committed a crime by having them and keeping them. https://www.archives.gov/presidential-l … President.

You're right - he asked that people march peacefully and talk to their legislators.  And liberals called it and "insurrection" and an effort to overthrow the US government, as if applying the label makes it true.

Or perhaps you have a different definition of "overturn the election"

I heard what you heard. I heard nothing that indicated Trump wanted anyone to break the law or enter the Capitol. In fact, he asked as you shared --- march peacefully and talk to their legislators.

Dan,  Between you and me --- I can't imagine a man fighting so hard if he did not believe he had a mission and believed in his mission. Sorry, this man has it all, he could have walked away into a wonderful sunset. He did not, he is fighting like hell, and this tells me he is doing it to make America a better place. I am not sure where all this ends up, but this man has my respect.  He is still standing.

Personally I do not like Trump and even hope that some other Republican sits in the chair in a year.

But I DO respect him in spite of his mouth and do think he has a far better plan for what America needs than the idiot in the White House and his cronies.

Despite having most of DC trying to undermine him for 4 years, Trump was able to make better decisions and keep us out of escalating, costly, wars.

I would assume if there is some proof that Trump " tried to overturn the election we will be made aware of it. We have Jack Smith investigating your concern. Maybe just better to wait and see what he turns up.

I will step away from this conversation, just hoped to discuss the subject of the thread. Biden has taken documents and mishandled even safeguarding them physically, and lying about knowing he had them. Kathy Chung testified some documents were taken to Chinatown.    And she also testified  --   "Comer said Chung’s testimony also revealed a previously unknown detail: That then-White House Counsel Dana Remus sought to recover documents from the Penn Biden Center office in MAY 2022, months before the reported early November discovery of the records by the president’s lawyers.

“This story does not begin in November 2022, as represented by President Biden’s attorney,” Comer said."

Remarkable ! Biden hid documents he had no right to have in China Town!

He had documents in three different places!

He let Ms. Kathy Chung that has no security clearance transport document from his office in Peen to China Town!

He clearly shuttled documents from one place to another, by who hell knows who!

And what I get in  --- No Problem from some, and from others crickets.

Clearly sheds light on our current society.

Just consider if Trump would have shuttled documents, to unsecured locations, by persons that had no clearance to even be in some room as Government Top secret documents.

“For example, one of the companies involved in the Henniges transaction was a billion dollar private investment fund called Bohai Harvest RST (BHR). BHR was formed in November of 2013 by a merger between the Chinese-government linked firm, Bohai Capital, and a company named Rosemont Seneca Partners. Rosemont Seneca was reportedly formed in 2009 by Hunter Biden, the son of then-Vice President Joe Biden, Chris Heinz, the stepson of former Secretary of State John Kerry, and others.”

Ken, Thank you for adding this information. It is clear to me that Joe Biden and his family were conducting pay-to-play for many years. And that he has gotten away with it, and most likely will continue (at the expense of our Nation) continue to get away with it.

I find it disgusting that the left-leaning here on HP don't share their thoughts on just about anything Biden. Confirms my thoughts in regard to how very unwilling some are to face facts, not to mention ruminate on all that is Trump, while the Country is being ripped apart.

I am very much angry at Congress for not addressing Bidens clear cognitive problems and impeaching him. He has become an embarrassment, and dangerous.

    Here are my thoughts:

That you are so quick to believe the worst about a man who has been respected for his sacrifices and service to his family and his country throughout his long life - and yet - pledge your allegiance to a man who has been known to be disreputable his entire life and behaved with nothing but selfishness and outrageous behavior that reflected nothing but humiliation on our country. It is beyond comprehension that people with the advantages and intelligence that so many of you on this site obviously possess are so willing to throw in your lot with the worst among us and willing stand on the wrong side of history. Does it not give you the slightest pause to consider that you will be lumped in with those who have only damaged your country and the world at large during your time on this planet?

    Those are my thoughts.

I can assure you I have been around long enough to witness Joe Biden's career in Washington, when he ran for office, I did extensive research on this man. I need not share negative opinions with this man. I can assure
you I think very poorly of Biden. He has proved, in my view. to be a failure as president, I feel he has done significant damage to America.

I will put my alliance behind any person the Republicans nominate to run in 2924. I genuinely feel the country is in trouble due to the present Democratic party. It is not the party I knew long ago.

I can appreciate your thoughts. I do realize our thoughts differ, I am very open to hearing other's views.

I can see you are very passionate about your political views. I think that is a plus, a good characteristic.  In regard to my feelings about Trump. they are uncomplicated.   For instants, his demeanor is something I find obtrusive. I have problems with him saying the election was stolen.   In my view, it would benefit the Republican party if he would not run this time around. I would like to see two brand new spanking clean candidates. In the end, in every election, we are left to choose between two candidates.

I am a relatively conservative woman, and like you, I am a bit passionate about my ideologies, and political views. I think today more than ever, we need to just keep lines of communication open, share, and try to just give one another a little bit of slack.

I did find Trump was a pretty good president during his time in office. I did truthfully feel the country was going in the right direction and had great hopes that our great divide might start to heal.

I don't think your words were said in anger, they were your feelings, and you shared them. I appreciate that we can openly communicate.

No one - especially politicians - is perfect. President Biden has a long record being in the public eye. I recall the Anita Hill incident and cringe for his role in it. Those were the times. I believe when you know better, do better. And I think he has personally and professionally done better adapting to the changing attitudes (many improving) in America.
