"Riley Gaines, a former All-American swimmer from the University of Kentucky, didn't hold back when reacting to President Biden's promise to veto a bill that would prevent biological males from participating in women's sports.

Speaking with Fox News Digital on Monday just hours after the White House released a statement slamming the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, or H.R. 734, Gaines said Biden's veto promise was evidence he was putting a "radical minority" ahead of women across the country.

"The President has declared that science, truth, and common sense no longer matter. In opposing this bill, President Biden is catering to a radical minority at the expense of women, who are 51% of the population," Gaines said.

"Equal opportunity, privacy, and safety in our sports shouldn’t be controversial. The women who once advocated for Title IX should be outraged as this goes against everything they fought for. Female athletes of all ages, levels, and sports deserve better," she added.

H.R. 734 has not yet been passed by Congress but is expected to come to a vote on the floor of the House of Representatives sometime this week.

In a statement, the White House said it "strongly opposes" the bill on the grounds that it would "deny access to sports for many families by establishing an absolute ban on transgender students."

It went on to call the bill "discriminatory," claimed such a law was "unnecessary," and that it "hurts families and students."

As part of the bill, educational institutions that receive Title IX funding from the federal government would not be allowed to "permit a person whose sex is male to participate in an athletic program or activity that is designed for women or girls."

The bill says that the sex of an athlete would be recognized only by their "reproductive biology and genetics at birth." The legislation would allow transgender female athletes to train or practice in a girls’ athletic program, but only if no biological female athlete is deprived of a roster spot.

Democrats have made it clear that most or all of them will oppose the bill on the floor. The House Education and Workforce Committee approved the legislation in a 25-17 vote — every Republican voted for it, and only Democrats voted against it.

One question ---   Why have women's sports at all if men can compete?

Bears repeating --  "The President has declared that science, truth, and common sense no longer matter. In opposing this bill, President Biden is catering to a radical minority at the expense of women, who are 51% of the population,"

I have to admit, women have particularly tough choices these days when deciding who to vote for.

One the one hand, the worst thing politically that ever happened to the Republicans in the last 20 years was the reversal of Roe vs Wade.

Regardless of where you stand on the abortion argument, it marshalled many women against Republicans for that alone.

On the other hand, Democrats and Biden are pushing pretty drastic change of their own with EO after EO:

Executive Order on Advancing Equality for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Individuals

Executive Order on Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation

Executive Order On Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities [see the above EOs] Through the Federal Government

Executive Order on Further Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government [because the first one wasn't enough]

Unfortunately these EOs are flying under the radar, many do not know the impact these and other EOs will have down the road... IMO it essentially puts the biggest minority at the top of the list... a new system based not on merit or ability, but on how many boxes you can check

      [ ] Non-Male
      ---     [ ] Identify as Female
      ---     [ ] Identify as Non-Binary
---     [ ] Identify as Other (Please explain below)
      [ ] POC
      ---    [ ] Foreign Born
---    [ ] Multi-Racial (non-white only if either parent is white leave blank)

If you did not check two or more boxes above, you may not apply for this position at this time.  You will not be considered for a promotion, etc.

I see your point, Ken, that is why it is important to vote this bunch out. However,  that might not happen, I mean it is easy to see much of common sense has been tossed out the window. Hey, we get what we ask for, do we not?

I am so sick of hearing about Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation. I am tolerant, and my feelings are live and let live.   My religion comes into play when it comes to sexual orientation/ homosexuality.

Seem to be the main platform of the GOP. They push it continually.  That and accomplishing a nationwide abortion ban.  Oh and committees.  No real ideas. Out of touch with what Americans find important.

I very straightforwardly shared my view --- I don't have anything to add. I certainly have no interest to discuss abortion on this thread.

Yes, and I respect your view/sentiment.  However, in the case of changing gender, and homosexuality I have very strong feelings due to my religious teachings. I feel I really have no right to discuss the issue -- due to respect that many feel very differently than I do. I don't think it fair or kind for me to in any respect push my views on this subject. I have no need to make an attempt to push my religious beliefs on others

I too feel everyone is worthy of love, and being treated with respect and kindness.  That's one reason I don't push my religious views on others.  I have no right to...

It seems as if women will back away from competitive sports due to men being able to compete. It appears women are losing ground in their fight for equality.  I mean now they could lose the right to compete against women only. Oh well, times are changing. Some of us are being disregarded, in this case, in my view, that would be women.

I've seen a female biological wretler wrest with a male counterpart.                                        In the basic sport events, biological male swimmers compete with fellow males, and not with male-females.                                             Yes, and oddly, a friendly football match between civil Commissions male and females, have I seen, some 40 years ago, in my country. But not nowadays.                                      Generally, it's not fair that trans-gender female males competed with the biological females.

Since the NCAA already has regulations on this, what's your concern? Can't local schools deal with the middle school soccer team? I mean we kicked back abortion to the states but we need this control on transgenders?   What is  the issue or point?  How many transgender individuals are there in the population? I hope you realize how small. How many would like to play sports? I think even smaller. And does it matter if they participate in playground sports?  Why is this issue the crown jewel of Republican politics?  Why? Because these people have little clout & power. Easily vilified.  This issue affects very few and even fewer are concerned about it.
On the flip side; Biden signed an executive order on today that contains more than 50 directives to increase access to child care.  This is just more relatable to many more people.

"But Karissa Niehoff, the executive director of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), isn't clear on what all the fuss is about.

"They're trying to put legislative momentum behind a problem that really doesn't exist," Niehoff says.

This year, NFHS conducted an informal survey to see how many transgender athletes were competing across the country. "It was very, very few," she says.

There is no data available that provides an exact number of transgender students in high school, let alone transgender student-athletes. There are approximately 15 million high school students in the United States, and approximately 8 million of them participate in high school sports. A CDC study published in 2019 estimated that 1.8 percent of high school students are transgender, meaning there are roughly 270,000 transgender students in U.S. high schools. But a report by the Human Rights Campaign found that only 14% of transgender boys and 12% of transgender girls play sports. Given all of those numbers, it's statistically possible that there are some 35,000 transgender student-athletes in high school, which would mean 0.44% of high school athletes are transgender.

The Associated Press asked lawmakers who sponsored legislation focusing on transgender athletes for local examples, and they were unable to do so.

This is extremely upsetting to me on many levels. My wife and daughter were both student athletes. Anyone familiar with female student athletes knows there are NOT that many opportunities for women to play sports. Period. Every transgendered female, who is a biological male, has an unfair advantage because of bone density, muscle mass, etc. These individuals are taking the limited opportunities from biological females to play sports. It's obvious they can't compete with their biological gender so they play in female sports and take championships that should go to biological females. I think to permit such a thing is despicable. These girls work hard an train hard and shouldn't have to compete with biological males with mental disorders. It's not fair, and I am 100% against it in all forms.

Keeping biological males with mental health issues from ruining women's sports designed for only women is a good thing. Keeping biological males with mental health issues out of women's prisons is a good thing. Keeping them out of women's bathrooms is also a good thing. When these people have been put into female prisons, it has had horrible results. Fighting to end the permanent mutilation of  young impressionable children is a good thing.  Liberals are who is angry, cruel as well as stupid.

It's very simple. The NCAA permits transgendered men to compete in women's sports. It's determined on a sport by sport basis.

              https://www.ncaa.org/sports/2022/1/27/t … olicy.aspx

              H. R. 734 prevents biological males from competing with females in ANY Sport.

                NCAA:
The policy is effective immediately, with three phases of implementation.

Phase One – 2022 winter and spring championships
For participation in 2022 winter and spring championships, transgender student-athletes were required to provide documentation to the CSMAS within four weeks before the selections date for their championship.

The documentation had to demonstrate compliance with the 2010 NCAA policy, which calls for one year of testosterone suppression treatment. It also had to document a one-time serum testosterone level that fell below the maximum allowable level for the sport in which the student-athlete was competing within four weeks of championship selections for that sport. That means that student-athletes who already fulfilled the 2010 NCAA policy only needed provide one validated serum testosterone level.

Transgender student-athletes who participated in regular season competition (including conference championships) remained subject to the 2010 NCAA policy only.

Phase Two – 2022-23 and 2023-24 regular season and championships
Beginning Aug. 1, 2022, participation in NCAA sports requires transgender student-athletes to provide documentation that meets the above criteria for the 2010 NCAA policy, plus meet the sport standard for documented testosterone levels at three points in time: 1. Prior to any competition during the regular season; 2. Prior to the first competition in an NCAA championship event; and 3. Prior to any competition in the non-championship segment. See the transgender student-athlete eligibility review procedures for more information.

Phase Three – 2024-25 full implementation
Beginning Aug. 1, 2024, participation in NCAA sports requires transgender student-athletes to provide documentation no less than twice annually (and at least once within four weeks of competition in NCAA championships) that meets the sport-specific standard (which may include testosterone levels, mitigation timelines and other aspects of sport-governing body policies) as reviewed and approved by CSMAS. More information about the specific application of Phase Three will be provided prior to implementation.

Why should the government usurp this? Seems more than adequate to address a rare occurrence and should be left to the sports governing body not politicians.
Republicans should heed the lessons of the loses of the extremist candidates of the midterm

Yet Republicans seem to be a brazen band of bomb throwers. Their answer for Americans worried about the economy and growing gun violence? . They alter Special Forces schools, like the Rangers, so that women can pass through the school... there is nothing proving this has any negative impact on combat effectiveness or quality of the solders now passing through that school.

They changed Boy Scouts to Scouts, so that they could no longer discriminate against girls who wanted to be Boy Scouts, inclusivity is all important and separation of sexes and sex type roles need to be done away with.

They alter the definition of a woman, so that it can include anyone that wants to identify as a women; similar to what they did for the Rangers, they make changes so that it can be inclusive, and anyone that wants to be something they previously were restricted from being can now become.

It is disgusting how antiquated some people's thoughts are regarding these issues.  It is NOT about what you were born as... its about what you feel, its about what you identify as.

No one else has the right to make a Transgender feel disrespected, or worse, ashamed of themselves for being what they want to be, what they identify as.

Only evil people do not want to accept Transgenders for the women that they are.  Only evil people want to maintain standards that discriminate against those without the strength or endurance to do what others do.

Until everyone can be what they want to be, until all standards are leveled so that anyone can meet them, regardless of their intelligence or their physical ability... our country is NOT free!  People are being oppressed!

High school volleyball player says she suffered concussion after being injured by trans athlete, calls for ban

A North Carolina high school volleyball player said she suffered significant and long-term physical and mental injuries last fall when she was spiked in the face by a transgender athlete who was able to compete on a girls’ team because of a policy put in place by the state’s high school athletic association.

Payton McNabb, a senior at Hiwassee Dam High School in Murphy, N.C., spoke out for the first time about her injuries on Wednesday during a press conference where she called on state legislators to pass the Fairness in Women's Sports Act that would prohibit biological males from competing on girls’ sports teams, citing her own experience.

if they (Edgar and the boys) completely leave town and the person fully transitions to the opposite sex, maybe things would be okay.
                I don't know.

But anyway for those who transition completely and utterly, they are not very healthy or happy and surely loose the desire and ability to compete.
Sure, let a fully transitioned transperson play sports and compete with the sex of his proclaimed (and encouraged) psychological identity.

I don't know if all trans women are like this, but I know at least one who is like this.

If that is the case, it is biological girls playing against biological girls.

Isn't it odd that only trans women want to play in women sports. No trans man wants to play in men's sports.

Many trans women want to play women sports because they can then win championships they would not if they played against biological males.  Most of them didn't do well against men, so they switched to female sports.

I watched the play and have a long history in the sport.  That spike was no harder than she would have seen from the top girls in her sport.  It looked bad because the coach had her so close to the attack and the block was not protecting her.  The coach's system put her in more danger than the opposing player.  Any high school girl could have injured her from that distance.

Maybe the womb-man was first and gave birth to the womb-less man.
hmmmm ...  Are the womb-man and the womb-less man both "men?"

      Well they are both beautiful.

I have heard, that the original humans, (hu+"man," again!) did not even have wombs or sex organs. Children were produced by the sheer ability to recreate through their God-like mental/spiritual abilities.

However, in time, by observing what the animals were doing, they decided to try what they were doing ... and so evolved the opposite sex organs/wombs like theirs. (And/or by procreating with the slowly evolving "cave men" ...?)

Maybe that's the true story of Adam and Eve.
God said, "Don't do what the animals are doing."

I mean, why would eating an apple bring about the fall of the first human creations who The Bible refers to as "Adam" and "Eve" ? ?

I do feel sorry for those who end up in a body they do not want to be in.
However, its best just to struggle through for health reasons and for the purpose of learning higher spiritual lessons/karma.

For instance, maybe the soul, (before birth,) decided it needed to experience being either male or female. What if you were a terrible person who mis-treated the opposite sex? Maybe you chose to experience the oppose sex to understand that what you did was hurtful in an attempt to change your ways and selfish inclinations?

A life-time in the shoes of the opposite sex might cause the criminal-soul to feel empathy and be motivated to change for the better.

Additionally, I have heard that if one is racist or prejudiced against a certain nationality, race or culture, one might reap the karmic consequence of reincarnating into that same race, culture or nationality.
