Chaos in the House

Congress is one of the least productive in US history

Last week, Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.), who had announced his retirement earlier this year, said he would leave Washington before the end of his term. Friday is his last day.

“It is the worst year of the nine years and three months that I’ve been in Congress and having talked to former members, it’s the worst year in 40, 50 years to be in Congress...
This place has just devolved into this bickering and nonsense and not really doing the job for the American people,” he said.

Today, Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.) announced he would resign from Congress before his term is up, shrinking the GOP’s already razor-thin majority in the House.

Gallagher, a four-term lawmaker who is considered a rising star within the GOP, announced last month that he would not seek reelection. But Friday, he said he would leave the House on April 19.

And Gallagher, who helmed the House Select Committee on China, joins several other high-profile committee heads who are calling it quits, reflecting the toxicity many said is evident on Capitol Hill.

Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.), 54, a 20-year veteran who currently chairs the powerhouse Energy and Commerce Committee, has announced her intent to leave Congress at the end of this term, along with Reps. Kay Granger (R-Texas), who heads Appropriations, and Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.), the chair of the Financial Services panel.

    And...

    Also today,

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) filed a motion Friday to remove Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) from power, a rebuke of his endorsement of a bipartisan spending deal moving through Congress.

    What a circus!
Do you think the MAGA faction would get total control of the (GOP) House?

It is a circus with the Clown Prince of Crime, Donald Trump behind it all.

The speaker of the House in the GOP MAGA world is an impossible, no win job.

The silly heifer from Georgia is too dumb to realize that compromise is a necessary component to maintaining government function?

If Enough Republicans step down, we can thin their ranks in the House.

Greene just does stuff for the attention.  I doubt she'll have the votes to remove Johnson.  Hopefully, Georgia will wake up and send someone with a brain to Congress and not someone just there to feed her own ego.

She does it to get Trump's attention.  "Look at me Donny, I'm doing a great job for you.  Just think, I can be your VP when you are elected president".

I can't think of a better idea to keep Trump from winning a second term than to have MTG as his running mate. Look what happened when the GOP ran Sarah Palin with Senator John McCain. I don't know whether or not McCain still would have lost the election if he'd had a better running mate, but I know that Obama would have had a much more difficult time winning.
