Gaetz Ethics report finds ‘substantial evidence’ of statutory rape, drug use

The House Ethics Committee found “substantial evidence” that former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) paid a 17-year-old high school student for sex when he was 35, used illicit drugs like cocaine and ecstasy, and obstructed Congress’s investigation into his conduct.

“The committee concluded there was substantial evidence that Representative Gaetz violated House Rules, state and federal laws, and other standards of conduct prohibiting prostitution, statutory rape, illicit drug use, acceptance of impermissible gifts, the provision of special favors and privileges, and obstruction of Congress,” the report says.

Gaetz floats possible bid for Rubio’s Senate seat

Former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) openly floated the idea of running for Sen. Marco Rubio’s (R-Fla.) Senate seat during a Turning Point USA event in Arizona on Sunday.

“Many have asked which perch I will be fighting from next, and some of you throughout this conference have even given me a few suggestions,” Gaetz said at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest. “My fellow Floridians have asked me to eye the governor’s mansion in Tallahassee, maybe special counsel to go after the insider trading for my former colleagues in Congress.”

“It seems I may not have had enough support in the United States Senate. Maybe I’ll just run for Marco Rubio’s vacant seat in the United States Senate and join some of those folks,” Gaetz continued, nodding to the fact that he struggled to win enough support among senators to be President-elect Trump’s attorney general.

Sounds like another bid to keep a political opponent out of politics.  Just like was done to Trump.  Yes?

I will read it later after The Price is Right is over and had my lunch. I am glad I have the opportunity to read it to be objective as best as can be to 'my' satisfaction. I haven't yet read any media hoopla on it since the announcement this morning. I won't until I have read it.

Thanks for posting with the links.

The House Ethics Committee’s report on Matt Gaetz was lengthy and wordy, but this is what stood out to me. It said he paid over $90,000 to 12 women between 2017 and 2020, with a lot of it supposedly tied to sexual activities or drug use. There was testimony from a woman who claimed she had a sexual relationship with him when she was 17 and received $400, which she took as payment for sex. The report also mentioned that he didn’t cooperate much with the investigation and tried to block its release. That said, he hasn’t been charged with any crimes related to the report.

Yes, yes... Gaetz is a wonderful person... not nearly as accomplished as Hunter Biden or as capable as his dad Joe, but they have the (D) beside their name, so whatever they do is OK.

Ken, I can only share my perspective on the Bidens. I've been following everything presented in the YouTube video you shared, and I don't need any more convincing. My common sense and clear observations tell me that the Biden family has been deeply involved in pay-for-play schemes, one after another. Joe Biden has managed to avoid consequences, and I believe his family will continue to do so. I suspect that once Joe is out of the picture, someone in his family will pick his bones--and write a book that will be the final blow, sealing his disastrous legacy for good. I would think he most likely will pardon anyone in his bloodline. LOL

Biden will get away with it so long as they ALL continue to get away with it.

Kerry, Pelosi, Schumer... all the relics that have been there for 35... 45 years or longer, they all play the same games, look at the Clintons... they haven't held a political position in over a decade now, but they still are working the system, raking in foreign 'donations' to their 'charity' and so on.

          Ken,
I agree, it seems like many in politics get away with things for years, often because the system allows it. People like Kerry, Pelosi, Schumer, and the Clintons have been in power for so long that they continue to influence things behind the scenes, even when they’re not directly in office. It’s frustrating to see how the system can protect these long-standing figures. In my view, it seems as a society we just don't seem to concentrate on the roots of problems but go to great lengths to avoid even seeing them. We look for ways to divert, to never look problems straight on.

"The real threat(s) to America are still in the White House."

So, you say. We will spend millions upon millions during Trump's dynasty to investigate Biden and cabal. You will get your vengeance then. Don't fret. Just have a little patience.

I don't care for either party in the sense that I would care what happened or in the sense of getting 'vengeance'.

Its the fact that almost every decision made in the last 4 years benefited China and made them stronger, and America weaker, on the global stage.

Biden and Co. are Manchurian Candidates... I still think back to when Xi visited San Fran.  How China moved into American airbases in Afghanistan, how China benefits from our war with Russia while the EU is crippled by it, how Saudi Arabia is now part of BRICS, etc. etc.

Its almost as if everything the Biden Administration did deliberately helped China while hurting America, the trillions spent, the millions of new immigrants, the wars, the failure to secure new trade agreements (IE - with Saudi Arabia and the UAE)... none of it was good for our future.

Don't worry, Ken. Trump will make things better. We just have to be patient. I am sure his opening barrage of EO's will counter a good percentage of what Biden did. One-step-at-a-time.
