Why are Democrats avoiding remedying crucial issues such as the influx of illegals, massive inflation, & crime while concentrating on lesser sociocultural issues?   It seems that Democrats don't want to brooch these important issues thus reducing the quality of life.  Your thoughts?

Because, according to the lies from top Democrats, the influx is now a trickle, inflation is dropping like a stone and crime has gone down so far it is no longer a problem.

On the other hand, pretending the woke agenda is reasonable and fair to all buys many votes, and nothing in the world can be more important than that.

To answer this question honestly, it would involve insulting many American's mindsets. Plus, there is no fixing them, is there?

Who avoided addressing our immigration laws by blowing up the bipartisan bill?   Is it better to just keep complaining rather than act on some of the laws that contribute to the issues we're seeing today?

Why the bill failed in the House.  The bill overspent and was an open incentive for migrants to make their way to our borders. The bill also had large budgetary conflicts.

House Republicans, expressed several concerns that ultimately derailed the legislation. Key issues included the bill's perceived leniency on border security, insufficient measures to address illegal immigration, and concerns over the proposed pathways to citizenship for undocumented immigrants. Many Republicans felt the bill did not adequately prioritize the enforcement of existing immigration laws and instead focused too heavily on accommodating those who entered the country illegally. There were many problems that Republicans pointed out.

        * The bipartisan immigration bill included several proposed pathways to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.
        * The bill included provisions related to border security measures. It stipulated that the number of migrants allowed to enter the country daily would be contingent on certain security benchmarks being met. Before the president could consider closing the border.  This number could allow automatically  1.6 million migrants to enter a year if the president sought fit. ---  This framework aimed to balance humanitarian considerations with the need for robust immigration.  This was thought to extend an
invitation, incentive to migrants to make their way to the border.
        * The bipartisan immigration bill included provisions for funding to support various aspects of immigration reform and border security. These funds were intended to mainly enhance measures to improve processing capabilities for asylum seekers and provide resources for managing the overall immigration system.

        Funding

*Integration Programs: Funds in the range of $500 million to $1 billion for community-based programs that assist with the integration of immigrants, including language training and job assistance

*Support Services: Financial assistance for programs that would help integrate immigrants into communities, such as language classes and job training.

*Border Security: Around $5 billion to $10 billion for enhanced border security measures, including technology, personnel, and infrastructure improvements.

*Asylum Processing: Approximately $1 billion for improving the processing of asylum claims and increasing the capacity of immigration courts.

Enforcement Initiatives: Funding for law enforcement efforts, which could also be in the billions, depending on the specific strategies and programs proposed.

The total funding sought in various immigration reform proposals often ranged from $10 billion to $30 billion over multiple years. However, it’s important to note that these figures could change significantly during the legislative process, depending on negotiations and political dynamics. Specific details would be available in the final text of the bill or related budget documents if the bill had progressed through Congress.

Well good thing we're keeping all of our laws and policies just as they are.  Apparently they have worked so well. I don't think Republicans have any right to complain in terms of anything to do with immigration.  They got what they wanted.

What is so ironic is that the current executive order enacted by Biden that has helped sharply decrease the numbers at the border was something that the bipartisan bill would have made law... Now it's going through the courts and most likely will be obliterated.

Yes, our current immigration laws have not worked well for a few decades, and it’s clear that we need new laws. The challenge lies in ensuring that any new legislation doesn’t unintentionally encourage more migrants to come here based on the perception that our immigration policies are becoming more lenient. If we simply add to the existing framework without addressing the fundamental issues, we risk creating solutions that could exacerbate the problem rather than resolve it.

It’s essential to recognize that we need to fundamentally rethink our approach to immigration. Instead of patching the old laws, we should rip them up and develop a system that better aligns with our country’s current needs. We need a balanced strategy that includes not only the admission of workers who can fill essential roles in our economy but also a thorough vetting process for asylum seekers.

The vetting process must be rigorous enough to ensure that those seeking asylum genuinely need protection and are not just taking advantage of a potentially easier entry point. By creating comprehensive immigration laws that prioritize both economic needs and humanitarian responsibilities, we can establish a system that serves the interests of our country while also being fair and just to those who seek a better life here.

The migrant issue has become a huge problem.  We don't need them as they are only crippling our infrastructures & increasing debt as we don't have the monies for them.  They should be deported to their respective country of origin.  America needs to strictly vet the immigrants who elect to come to America.  Only those who have advanced skills should be allowed to America.  The Democratic Party is ruining America.

With a rapidly aging population and birth rates continuing to decline, do you propose that we shrink our economy as we go into the future rather than allow immigration to continue to fuel our growth?

What is wrong with allowing legal immigration by people that apply and are able to support themselves while they find work? I do not see conservatives in the US campaigning to end legal immigration.

Thank you, finally a person who has LOGIC.   Exactly, have legal immigrants with skills come & contribute to the American economy.  What can't people see this?

Thanks for a timely topic. The Democrats need to figure out in 43 days what they are voting for! For instance, after watching videos of interviews taken in Springfield, Ohio, I really think something nefarious is going on there. The residents explained that the Haitian migrants are working at a particular factory for very low wages ...

It seems they are paid by the government, (compensated for their work in the factory?) via ATM cards. What if this scenario in Springfield is an experiment involving something like slavery. Of course, this is a terrible and far out suspicion, but the Democrats need to be sure about Kamala et al. After all, apparently Biden/Harris are behind the 15 to 20 thousand Haitians being in this town of 60 thousand American citizens.

The fact is, Dems, by voting for the Harris/Walz ticket, are agreeing to something BEFORE they even know what they are agreeing to.

    NEVER a good idea!

For instance, if Team Soros-Obama-Biden-Harris-Schumer-Pelosi-Walz is going to implement "slavery" for all, convincing us we don't need to be paid in cash, but issued financial compensation via ATM cards instead, we should know.

Of course, Democrats also know exactly what they are voting for: we have been experiencing the miserable effects and consequences of what Team Soros has CAUSED for more than 31/2 years.

    Crime?

The FBI’s crime statistics estimates, based on reported data for 2023, show that national violent crime decreased an estimated 3.0% in 2023 compared to 2022 .
