Geez, you Trump people disappoint me.

Here this man is talking about getting tough with China, but he surely lines his pockets does he not?

The Bibles are manufactured at $2.00 each in China. He is selling them for $60.00?

The proponents are saying that we need a religious revival, is that so? Trump is immoral and amoral, he is using this phony Christian evangelical stuff to enrich himself. Oklahoma agrees to shove their Trump bibles, proselytizing where it is not wanted down the throats of impressionable public school children.

But, my bet is that America will vote him back in because misogyny and racism within this culture supersedes common sense. We were always moving things forward to make things better for all, but now I don’t recognize you anymore

In spite of many well known pundits predicting otherwise, I say that I know YOUR SYSTEM and I know YOU.

hmmm . . . Yup, sounds like integrity and authenticity is at question. However, it is not Trump's Bible. It is "Lee Greenwood’s God Bless the U.S.A. Bible', endorsed by former President Donald Trump and commonly referred to as the Trump Bible. They cost $60 each online, with Trump receiving fees for his endorsement."

I discovered that bit of info from . . .

'Trump Bible' one of few that meet Walters' criteria for Oklahoma classrooms by The Oklahoman (Oct 4, 2024)
      https://www.oklahoman.com/story/news/20 … 510021007/

Interestingly enough from the article arrives . . .

"Superintendent Ryan Walters isn’t just talking about buying Bibles for schools.

Bids opened Monday for a contract to supply the state Department of Education with 55,000 Bibles. According to the bid documents, vendors must meet certain specifications: Bibles must be the King James Version; must contain the Old and New Testaments; must include copies of the Pledge of Allegiance, Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights; and must be bound in leather or leather-like material.

A salesperson at Mardel Christian & Education searched, and though they carry 2,900 Bibles, none fit the parameters.

But one Bible fits perfectly: Lee Greenwood’s God Bless the U.S.A. Bible, endorsed by former President Donald Trump and commonly referred to as the Trump Bible. They cost $60 each online, with Trump receiving fees for his endorsement."

A couple of notable notes. Supposedly Trump received a royalty payment of $300,000 for endorsing the Greenwood Bible. Also, a signed copy of the Bible runs $1,000.

God Bless the U.S.A. Bible Online store. The Bible can only be purchased at the online store per the site's FAQ

Since the Bible is only sold online I ponder with wonder what price would be given to Oklahoma schools while considering it is published in China?

Thanks for doing some much-needed research on the subject.

Thank you, Tim, but there are overriding principles here where the details can and do provide reinforcement.

Where is Oklahoma getting the money to buy bibles, tax payers?

Do I understand that the price to be paid for these bibles is not competitive?

Who is this irreverent Trump so that his “endorsement” is of any value?

Are evangelical Christians so shallow in their thinking that they seriously are embracing all of this, talk about turning Gods temple into a merchandise mart…Has Trump become an “idol”? In my world, Christianity and jingoistic nationalism do not mix and something does not smell right.

Oklahoma is an example of a terribly retrograde red state, worse than Texas in many aspects. The Moon would be less uninhabitable. The separation of church and state is still an important issue to me, one that the state administration in Oklahoma seems to ignore.

As for your last question, it is a good one and I can only guess.

Would it not stand to reason that the Bibles might have been cheaper due to being created in China?

A possibility, but there is just an incredible difference in cost verses price. It could be considered exorbitant.

Read a Bible before you buy one of Trump's and you'll never have anything to do with him ever again.

Are they different?  Why would you have to read one he didn't provide to come to that conclusion?

Because they got caught... We'll have to see if they give them the contract anyway.

Oklahoma amends request for Bibles that initially appeared to match only version backed by Trump

The request was amended Monday and no longer requires the Bibles to include U.S. historical documents such as the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution — requirements that match the “God Bless the USA Bible” that Trump endorsed this year and that are several times more expensive than similar Bibles that don’t include the U.S. documents.

The new request says the historical documents may be included together or separately and extends the deadline for offers to supply the items by one week, from Oct. 14 to Oct. 21.

The request is part of State Superintendent Ryan Walters’ efforts to require Bibles in public school classrooms...

His words made it clear. He's a MAGA trying to illegally help MAGA.

Walters, in a Monday video on X, said the Bible will be used “because of its historical significance throughout this nation’s history,” blaming what he called the “fake news media” for lies about the program.

“The left-wing media hates Donald Trump so much, and they hate the Bible so much, they will lie and go to any means necessary to stop this initiative from happening,” Walters said.

Thank you for your detailed info. In my experience, it appears that the Oklahoma procurement people were trying to justify a sole source to the company with Trump approved bibles even though they were more expensive, by including a requirement that the Bibles be leather bound. A superficial characteristic  that would narrow the acceptable  sources and justify paying more. That was my line of work back in the day and I know all of the tricks.

      Regardless, it all still stinks…..
