If we capture an illegal immigrant and we sent them to a different country, wouldn't it take longer for them to try again? What countries would you send them to?
No other country.
Send 'em back to their home country AFTER trying them for their crime.
I don't know the stats on it, but there's way too much drug-smuggling and dealing from Mexico and other places.
As well as the problem of illegals thinking they can get American freedom without paying the literal price (as in taxes, etc.)
I think you will find that the other countries of the world are not owned by the USA, therefore you would not be allowed to send your illegal immigrants to them.
The only country you could possibly send your illegal immigrants to is back to their country of origin.
It's the responsibility of the US Government to sort out it's immigration policies and tighten it's border controls.
But please remember that every illegal immigrant is a person just like you, trying to find a living, security and freedom
Also, how many of the early settlers of the US had visas? Their actions are applauded for just moving in and taking over the land regardless of who already lived there?
They are not just like me I do not willingly and knowingly enter other countries illegally.
AND
I am not responsible for the actions of people who died centuries before I was born. It is insane to compare the two. Yes people migrate\move to find better than what they have currently. Yes this should be allowed to continue, but yes they should do it legally. I am not aware of the U.S. denying legal applications for entry into our country are you?
They are people just like you - you don't have to enter countries illegally because you were lucky enough to be born in a country which is prosperous and have freedom of movement.
I wasn't suggesting for a moment that you were personally responsible for the actions of early settlers; just pointing out that people have moved to find better circumstances for themselves for centuries and sometimes to the detriment of those that already live there.
Illegal immigrants are a matter for the administration of a country to deal with, according to the laws of that country and hopefully treated with respect and dignity along the way
I am not at all sure of what goes on in the UK but here in the United States The Illegals bring drugs, crime, violence, and death. Those that do not bring these things come into our country illegally so that they can work under the radar for much less than is allowed by our laws there by creating a shortage of jobs for U.S. citizens.
The only thing that I am saying is come legally, respect our laws and pay the same price I do to live here. I do not think that that is unreasonable.
The Illegals bring drugs, crime, violence, and death.
Oh let me guess...., and ONLY the illegals do this.
Are you kidding me. Violence? Crime? Death? Drugs?
You know MO is the number state in meth production.
Guess what? We don't have too many illegal aliens in Missouri. That's an awful long trek from Mexico.
I cannot believe that was just written. I'm curious, who do you think is responsible for Missouri's meth production? Well I'll tell you who- AMERICANS! That's who.
First of all What I said was that these are some of the problems that come with Illegals. I did not say that they are the only ones creating the problem. It amazes me that the people here continue to ad to what the poster says to twist it to make it fit their argument. Please do not put words in my mouth. Illegals are now and will continue to be a problem in the United States.
Wrong.
On crime, you are wrong: crime rates in the border states have done nothing but drop over the past ten years.
http://mediamatters.org/research/201004290029
Also, any claims about Phoenix now being second only to Mexico City in kidnappings are also complete gibberish.
http://www.politifact.com/texas/stateme … ital-worl/
And finally, on taxes, you are wrong: illegal immigrants are actually paying significantly more into the system than they are taking out.
http://www.nytimes.com/2005/04/05/busin … .html?_r=3
"I wasn't suggesting for a moment that you were personally responsible for the actions of early settlers; just pointing out that people have moved to find better circumstances for themselves for centuries and sometimes to the detriment of those that already live there."
Well then you won't mind if someone kicks in your door at night and decides that he lives there now and will be helping himself to your stuff, right?
Now you are acting like a spammer.
SPAM!
I reported it for you already.
No. No. No. Don't bother the people there with our troubles! Send them to Antarctica, where there is no one but a few penguins to bother... the birds know how to take care of themselves.
If we are going to do that, lets send them to Africa, somewhere they can get jobs as farmers help and help to feed the needy while they are there.
I don't think we should deport them. I think we should jail them.
A second offense, a longer jail term.
Third, strike three, life.
{after the mass exodus we need right now.}
I'm with you I just don't want to pay for them. Better immigration policies would be fine and the workers would have to be paid competitively rather than drive a good part of our economy into the ground.
I agree.
Or how about this? Every company who is caught hiring them ALSO --among other penalties--has to contribute vehicles to ship them back from whence they came. This would not work though until we had shored up our borders in the first place.
Sink walls into the ground and man the entire border with armed guards.
So we can keep paying for them to live here? I don't think I am getting this.
so coming here illegally will be a very risky business and they won't come. The only thing that happens if they get caught now is they get sent back to try again tomorrow.
Okay. I do understand that... but I think they need jobs.... like producing 'green' energy with stationary bikes.
That would become very expensive, very quickly.
It would cost me less than it is costing me right now.
Maybe not:
"Prisons cost taxpayers more than $32 billion a year. Every year that an inmate spends in prison costs $22,000. An individual sentenced to five years for a $300 theft costs the public more than $100,000. The cost of a life term averages $1.5 million."
22,000 * 12 million = $264,000,000,000 per year.
Life term = $18,000,000,000,000.
It'd be more cost effective to just dump them in a volcano...
Right now personally they cost me 100% of all of my money....I don't think they could personally cost me more. I need one of the 10 million jobs they have stolen.
You lost your job to them? You're right, they can't cost you anymore. I'm sorry to hear that.
The trucking industry is a case in point. I didn't really mind having to compete with drivers who had immigrated--if they were good hands, jumped through the necessary legal hoops, etc. The last company for which I drove (shift work, on-off road, hauling water over tough dirt roads in all weather to drilling rigs) employed a couple such who were among our top hands and a pleasure to work with.
But...
Late one afternooon, I was parked on an uphill grade where my loaded tanker had spun out in the mud. None of us, not even the security gate folks a mile downgrade behind me, had realized we needed to chain up--a tightly focused shower had hit that canyon just hard enough to grease the surface immensely.
I was about to get out of the cab when another big rig tanker coming downhill caught my eye. The driver did not have control. As he attempted to literally slide by my truck, his half-jackknifed trailer stayed over in my lane and yes, smacked my outfit nicely. Incapacitated both units.
The point of all this is that the company owner, the boss to which that driver and the driver behind him reported--were illegal immigrants. That owner drove up the canyon, snagged his guys, and roared back out of the canyon at high speed. He got two tickets from the investigating deputy, even admitted that his driver (of the wrecked truck) did not have a standard CDL (Commercial Driver's License) but was operating on an "International License".
Of course they were never found. The names given to the deputy were no doubt phony. To this day, they're quite possibly driving in some other oilpatch, maybe in Wyoming or Montana.
But...neither do I have any brilliant solution. I agree with the posters who point out the expense of maintaining them behind bars.
Maybe we could force them all to start companies, and then tax them heavily as employers to pay for the new health care program....
Illegal immigrants have cost you 100% of all your money?
What a sad story Mikel. And there was me thinking you were a highly trained professional soldier. And an illegal immigrant stole your job?
You guys actually buy this story along with the sky fairy tail huh?
You lost your job because of illegal immigrants. Nothing to do with the Federal Reserve's intentional deflationary period.
Dear me. I have started buying up religious websites in preparation to promote my dinosaur hunting trip packages........ Please tell your friends....... The ones with jobs....
No offense, but anyone that feels like an illegal alien has stolen their job is probably a loser. Maybe go back to school and learn some marketable skills. Good luck.
Like that is not gonna cost the American tax payers, a whole lot'ta money.
I thought you didn't like paying taxes. I cannot imagine why you would want to add more, to an already burden American public.
To me that is a foolish way to spend our tax dollars. I would have a real problem with that. Talk about a waste of resources, and time.
You know- the justice system is not cheap. Somebody has to pay the workers in the jailhouse, and court house. That somebody is us, Mr. & Mrs. Public.
I don't agree with any of you. This topic overall is very offensive...Moving on.
Come to this country legally.
Learn the language.
Apply for Citizenship.
Pay Taxes
Pay Taxes
Pay Taxes
Pay your own expenses such as food, board, medical, education, etc.
Once you pay what the rest of us Americans pay to the Government you will then not be willing to work for half the pay! The "free-ride" will be over.
HUBBERS
A simple solution can be to send them back with very little cost to the taxpayers.
1. The federal government start enforcing the laws
2. Deny any non citizen access to government entitlements
3.Deny automatic citizenship to babies born of non citizens
4.Anyone coming into the country should be prosecuted for trespassing. Do not send them back on 2Nd violation but imprison them, work them to pay for the cost to imprison them
Note! the health care bill does not exclude illegals from free healthcare. Meaning that our government would rather keep paying taxpayer money than enforce the laws of our nation.
A silly thought when you hear a politician say '' we are a country of the rule of law ''
WAKE UP AMERICA, WE NEED NEW LEADERSHIP !
I think they should be sent back, and then the US should bill their government for whatever the trip and anything else cost taxpayers.
illegal immigrants - perhaps you should bestow the President's Medal upon them seeing as it was illegal immigrants or deported 'criminals' who built America......the vast majority of early Europeans to go to America - entered America illegally - also tens of thousands of sheep stealers and murderers were deported from Europe to America - perhaps people need to check their family tree before talking about illegal immigrants - surely the only legal Americans are the native Indians
Well said, theirishobserver. Great Britain and Ireland are no different - we have had waves of invaders and immigrants coming into these islands since ancient times, which has helped to create a rich, diverse culture and history. If some of our ancient ancestors hadn't upped sticks and left Africa, none of us would be here in Europe or America today, would we? Movement of human populations is a fact of life, has been going on since the beginning of the human race and moaning won't stop it
Australia the same, all works well for me.
And the response of the American Indian was to kill as many of the European Invaders as they possibly could. Should we be expected to do the same with the people Invading what has become now 'our' country?
I'm a descendant of the American Cherokee Indian, and current CITIZEN of the United States.
God Bless America and everyone in her - that is every one with good intent - leave people to work and do good - remove only those who are a genuine threat to America or her diverse people - lets not use the threat of terrorism to point the finger at any group of people - In Ireland today we have a terrorist threat - that does not mean that we discriminate against anyone or punish anyone unfairly - let those who want to live in peace be in peace - America is a multi-cultural society and its richness and diversity should be a flag flying high
Well coming from a heritage that started on my mothers side in Scandinavia, and on my fathers side in Ireland, and now living myself in Spain....
I must agree that immigrants are not the problem, as stated, we are all mostly emigrants from somewhere.
But logic would dictate that when someone comes to a country from another, they must comply with the laws and play their part.
I would think the following would negate most 'native' arguments against immigration:
1. No access to any government assistance (except life threatening emergency medical treatment) until a set period has passed since entry.
It could be one year or five, but it would require that the immigrant had paid all taxes and met all requirements for that specified period before they could receive assistance from the country of residence.
2. Any criminal offence committed during that period would put them on notice that any subsequent offence would result in immediate expulsion to the country they originated from.
I'm sure there are many more additions that would ease the tensions, but these would be a good start.
Remember that it was only 100 years ago that passports were issued (by Russia first)so before that if you could get somewhere, you could stay there.
We have no right to deny free movement of people, for economic or security reasons, but we do have the right to remove any foreign national who represents a threat to our countrie good order or safety.
John
Why would you send them to another Country? This would cost our Country would it not? To me it just does not make any sense and is not logical.
I have the highest respect for families to take control of their lives and relocate for the betterment of their circumstances and for the future of their children. At the same time, I have no tolerance for those who try to do so "under the radar" so to speak. There is a process for becoming a citizen and resident of this nation. In that wise, you would eventually have the opportunity to pay taxes and contribute to the many policies that citizens are mandated to supply. I cannot fathom the thought of utilizing the resources and benefits of a country without offering something in return to support it. It becomes a part of the degrading mentality of "entitlement" which is fast renting the shields of this nation.
Anyhow, the whole conversation is mute because with today's historic plundering of the United States Constitution with the Health Care Reform being signed, the President is going to need all the votes he can get at next election. For this reason, and mark my words, he will be fast tracking to amnesty for all illegal immigrants in this country. This is dangerous and an atrocity against not only the Constitution of the United States, but also the security of this nation.
So, no need to worry. They will all be true fellow citizens soon enough without any personal accountability or recourse.
so.. you're asking if... when an immigrant desperately comes to the United States, after paying for the trip via allowing his daughter to be raped (google "rape trees"), ...
... we should send them somewhere else...
... because they want a better life?
what?
How evil can you get?
NO!! Let them stay, immigrants are NOT our problem right now!!
It's a ridiculous but creative idea. I'd say give them a temporary legal status in the US and check their background in their countries to make sure they are not criminals. If the person proves to be a hard worker and a good citizen, let them stay. If they are lazy, send them to Cuba! lol No... send them back to their country. We don't need any lazy bums in the US!
The first page of this thread is pretty disgusting. Amazing how supposedly educated, Christian Americans can hate poor immigrants so much.
Well libtards love the illegal immigrants so that they can pay them to do their housework for a lot less and they can't complain.
Actually Flightkeeper, the rich bastards who have been robbing us blind love the illegal debate because it keeps the middle class distracted from the real enemies.
I agree, those rich bastards give a lot of money to the Dummycrats so that they have a pool of desperate people to do their dirty work and keep quiet instead of hiring Americans at real pay.
Most of the people who posted early on in this thread call themselves Christians. I was a little surprised to see Christians talk about how we should jail poor people for life, or deport them to Antarctica, or drop them in a volcano, because they risked their life to come to America and escape the poverty in their home countries.
So, Christians, I figured I'd post some quotes from your holy book that seemed relevant:
Deuteronomy 24:14 – “You shall not withhold the wages of poor and needy laborers, whether other Israelites or aliens who reside in your land...”
Deuteronomy 27:19 – “Cursed be anyone who deprives the alien…of justice.”
Leviticus 19:33-34
"When a foreigner lives with you in your land, don't take advantage of him. Treat the foreigner the same as a native. Love him like one of your own. Remember that you were once foreigners in Egypt. I am God, your God."
Matthew 25:31-46 – Jesus says“…I was a stranger and you welcomed me.”
WWJD, hypocrites?
I think if we send the illegal aliens to Canada we are actually treating them much better than Americans.
Since I posted after you I can post without you thinking I have something against you.
First off, I did not notice your religious survey of anyone here.
Secondly, the fact that you do not include yourself as a Christian could give some people the impression you are just trying to take a shot at those who are.
Personally, I believe you need to remember that in America these is a separation of church and state.
So how a situation should be dealt with legally might not always mesh with how a Christian would theoretically handle the situation.
WWJD?
Ask him, okay?
But remember to conduct your religious survey BEFORE you make any claims or assumptions, please!
First - I've been on these forums for about a year now. I am familiar with most of the posters on that first page.
Second - maybe I am taking a cheap shot. I don't care what you think about that. My point is still valid: the bible says these things about being nice to folks, and Christians seem to forget that.
I do not hate immigrants. If they come into the country, they need to do it legally.
Become a citizen

Pay taxes
Pay medical
Why in our country should we be expected to learn a different language in order to work for certain companies.
If we entered another country we would not be catered to like these people.
Oh and many of the taxes we pay, goes toward taking care of their medical expenses. How fair is that?
Where I live they are called day laborers and they make more in a day then I do. If you could just see them standing in the morning (at least 100 maybe more) waiting and hoping someone will pick them up.
This is taking jobs from Americans and this is just wrong.
The people picking them up are wrong also. If you are caught picking them up for employment for the day you are hit with some hefty fines.
Come into the land of the free but do it the right way and I would have nothing to say except welcome to our country.
I so agree with you. I never returned to teaching because school distreicts want you to be CLAD certified. If I am teaching secondary--especially--I should not have to be CLAD certified. If I wanted to teach these kids I would have been an ESL teacher. I would rather teach beyond the basics.
It also pisses me off--especially now that I am unemployed--that I can't even apply for some jobs because they want you to be bi-lingual. When you move to another country to live you should be prepared to speak the language. If you do it legally you have enough time to learn the language!
sorry you are unemployed. I worked for a bank for over 20 years and they wanted me to go back to school and learn the other language. I put up a stink and said there are so many places that offer free English classes let them take that. I never did go for the classes and decided it was time for me to go, everything in the work force has changed so much.
This is the second person that has bemoaned a private business asking them to increase their skill set by speaking Spanish. I do not mean to break this to you, but there are many people here legally that speak Spanish and prefer it as their language of choice. This does not mean that a business is obliged to provide Spanish speakers for them. If I owned a business, I might want to appeal to that consumer base or remain competitive with other businesses that also offer Spanish speakers...um, do you think the government should prevent private businesses from doing this? Here's a tip...go learn some Spanish. Most people around the world learn multiple languages so that they have better job prospects, join the club.
The problem is not the immigrants. It's the CEOs who have sent American jobs overseas so they can pay pennies to produce products that they turn around and sell to us for the same price as when Americans made them.
All I'm saying is, don't waste your time going after the little people. They have families to feed just like you and me.
Attack the root of the problem.
I don't think you have any idea how difficult that is. See here: http://i.imgur.com/VG2cb.jpg
You will notice that the absolute best case scenario has it taking seven years. Worst case scenario is twenty-eight.
You should really the rest of the thread before responding. If you had, you would know that these specious attacks had already been dealt with. See here:

I cannot find a group that supports illegal immigration. Yet we cannot stop it. Now that is pathetic. So we must conclude that without saying it, some - many in America support it and do what they can to stop control of it. It would seem that this should be a target for midterm elections. Who does...
