Why does everyone blame Obama as if he didn't inherit this mess?

   The right seems to be oblivious to the fact that when ole George Bush left office, unemployment was at 7.8%. I know all of you right-wingers expected Obama to clean up Bush's mess, but when Bush's mess becomes the 2nd biggest economic mess since the Great Depression how can Obama alone fix these problems. You all see it everyday CEOs making $48,000,000 in a year and the companies of the CEOs shedding jobs like fur.(Obama's fault, right?) We have to be the dumbest country in the world to sit and let a mechanism like capitalism tear us out of house and home. Unemployment is at the worst rate in about 80 years and companies continue to rack up the dough and ship off your jobs. This is the truth that I see. I'm not manipulated by any political organization; this is how it is! CEOs are making money because they are able to cut labor here and hire someone in India to do our jobs for half the price.SHOULD OBAMA GO INTO THE BOARD ROOMS AND STOP THE CEOs from doing it? You all would cry "bloody-murder" and try him for treason. All of you are so manipulated by whatever political affiliations that you serve that you can't even look at a picture without turning it upside down. Put these CEOs and board members on trial! They are the ones robbing you for your jobs.

      It is irrelevant who started it, what is relevant is that Obama has had little success in fixing it.  He has no leadership skills and he has no understanding how business works and that causes him to have no idea how to get things going again.
      Glenn Beck doesn't have a clue how to do it either.
      If you need surgery, you get a specialist if you wish to have success.  We need someone a with business background to get us out of this mess.  Socialism and socialists can not fix what is wrong.

      I agree completely, Clinton had the budget balanced when he left office. The came way to many years of Bushes in office. The right is wrong! They make some of the dumbest comments. I saw one Republican state "if this healthcare bill passes, people will be going to jail" he had the reporter who was interviewing him laughing histerically. Sarah Palin makes me puke.

         sigh.. there was no balanced budget.  ever... it  was a myth.  it was projected to be balanced just as the surplus was projected.   and as soon as congress heard that news.  they went on yet another spending spree.  so the forecasts for a balanced budget and the surplus never came about.   in fact we started into a micro recession a year before bush took office. 
         
         then 9/11 happened and the economy took another hit.  then the facts are a modest economic growth for eight years under bush.   that growth began to falter as the Election rolled around. 
         
         Personally I dont give a crap if the recession started a hundred years ago.  Obama is president, he either needs to do his job and stop blaming the prior president or he needs to resign becuase he cant do his job.   
         
         of course if you democrats dont mind the damage to the party and the failure to have Obama president a second time.  by all means sit back and defend his blame games and lack of leadership.   defend the constant Czar scandals,  the unconstitutional bills and game playing. 
         
         it doesnt matter if you believe its happening or not.  enough people do to make a difference next election.    or maybe you could actually study the issues and the facts more and try to understand why so many people are jumping off the obama bandwagon across the nation and the wold.

            You're right when the debt showed some light at the end of the tunnel our elected leader went on a spending spree as we NEED to. The problem is that you are NOT an economist and you don’t know how our money works. If the debt gets paid off our money becomes worthless. We have a system here in America call the fractional reserve system. Which means that our money is all based on debt. If you get a loan to buy a house you go to your bank and they create money out of thin air. That money is sent to the sellers bank account and they can spend their money however they see fit. What most people don’t realize is that the bank that loaned you the money only had to actually possess roughly one tenth of it. I'm sure this is way over your head so we'll move on.
            
            9/11 sucker punched the economy and we all felt it so we very quickly forgot that our lame duck president was sipping jack and cokes in Texas and attending elementary school book readings. If Obama got caught doing any of that some activist red neck would be making some pretty harsh plans for his demise. I would also have to say that we did not have modest growth for eight years under bush and it completely discredits you to say such a thing. This mess that we are in is because bush had bills put through like the patriot act which allowed him to make closed door decisions to give his oil rich family and friends government contracts. Ok so that part really gets under my skin so let’s move on again.
            
            About him doing his job and stop blaming the prior administration. let me make my point clear right up front WE ALL BLAIM BUSH FOR SCREWING UP OUR COUNTRY. Pres Obama is working hard night and day to repair the damage and he is starting to make ground. as of this month the unemployment rate is starting to head back down. It really urgs me when people act like he should have waived some magic wand and fixed it all over night. In most cases it takes up to 6 years for presidential decision to show their pros and cons. For example Bush's No child left behind bill which appears to be working out. I’m all for any president who puts focus on education as it is widely known that American educations leave something to be desired, with the proof showing its ugly face in most of the posts here spouting NObama hatred. Well I say GObama. Keep up the hard work and do what you can with the short amount of time we have you for. I truly believe that if all you extremist would just stop wanting to be part of the group who is slowing down the progress of this nation by fighting Obama tooth and nail the whole time just so you can be a part of group where your retired grandparents and rich bosses are in we can really do some good here. Please I am begging you to stop thinking about yourself and think about America as a whole. It begins when you stop playing back seat politicians and pretending you know one iota about what it take to run the greatest nation on the planet because your emotions may just cause enough hatred in others to mess up what will be good for us all.

         Whoa now!(sorry that's the Texas in me) When Bush was sworn into office unemployment was 4.1%. When he left office he had almost doubled that number. Bush inherited a $350,000,000,000 budget surplus, but handed  Obama a deficit of $1,300,000,000,000. Do we really need another Republican president waisting taxpayer dollars? (You right-wingers won't admit that though) No president has ever inherited that much debt. Ever!
         
         "So Obama you get to inherit 2 wars, a record federal trade deficit, an unemployment rate of almost 8%, a collapsing housing industry, a collapsing credit industry, a collapsing auto industry, and a collapsing banking industry."             Let's not forget that the Republicans helped Clinton balance the budget and helped to create the surplus that Clinton takes credit for.
            2000 Bush inherits a Clinton recession, 911 attack, started Afghanistan war, Iraq war ( approved by democrats )and Katrina disaster. Oh I forgot that the Democrats took over Congress in 2007. The last 2 years of Bush with the Democrats in charge we had the Oil price escalation, Housing collapse and Banking problems.
            In 2000 Bush with the Republicans in charge, unemployment was at the start of Bush presidency was  ( 4.1% ), end of Republican/Bush Congress it was 4.6%( not bad ).
            Bush left with a $1.3 billion deficit of which $ 700 billion bailed out the banking industry ( Obama voted for the bailout ).Note that the $700 billion plus inters has been paid back with interest. Your hub failed to report that actually the Bush deficit was $600 billion.
            
            Take note that Obama has increased the deficit 3+ x the Bush deficit and is still  counting. Unemployment is 9.7% and the economy has yet to be fixed.
            
            Your ending remarks need to researched more completely for hub readers.
            Give us what Barak Obama promised ‘’ open and transparent government ‘’, THE WHOLE TRUTH not half truths.

   The democratic party controlled congress.  It is as much their mess.
   
   Obama has done nothing to get out of the mess.  His stimulis was not a stimulus but a payment to minorities, and did not stimulate natural jobs.  As a matter of fact, 1/2 of the stimulus may  not even be payed out yet, but is being held for BO discretion.  Therefore he does not even believe it would work or he would have used it.
   
   Also, Fannie May, and Freddie Mac was a lot of the problem, and it was overseen by none other than Bawnie Fwank and Chris Dodd.  They did not let the republicans pass legislature to keep this from happening.  Blame Bush all you want, but I look at the Democrat legislature for a lot of the fault.

    When the Democrats took majority control of Congress in 2007 unemployment was 4.6%.Needless to say the last 2 years that Bush was in office Congress wasn’t doing a good job with running the economy.
    Take note that the 2007 Congress  still is command of the economy for 3 years  (2007-2010) and unemployment is 9.7% nationally,  other parts of the country as high as 18% plus. Obama was in Congress  in those same years.

    If companies don’t make a profit they go broke. There are many companies going broke, end result is lost jobs and lost taxes( what government takes from profits ) , government rules, regulation and taxes force companies abroad.

    Obama  said  that Congress has to stop spending ,$400 million to the radical Palestinians apparently is not a part of  the pay-go legislation. Congress recently raised the debt ceiling to $14.1 trillion with Obama's urging .
    
    Watching the President appearing on TV  and saying such wonderful things when he does just the opposite disturbs many people. He really needs to start telling the American people the truth
    
    The 2011 budget has yet to be submitted to Congress for debate and approval, wonder why?
    The people are still waiting for the jobs that were promised. Every day the $1 billion interest on the deficit has to be paid with borrowed money .Sounds like we the people are headed in the wrong direction.Obama promised open and transparent government, really.
    
    The average pay in the PUBLIC sector is $70,000 plus $40,000 in fringed benefits, a total of $110,000. In comparison the average pay in the PRIVATE sector is $40,000 plus $9,000 in fringe benefits, a total of $49,000.
    SOMETHING is very wrong, why does public employees receive $31,000 more in fringe benefits than the private sector?
    Maybe that's the answer to why states, cities and towns are going broke by having the taxpayers shouldering the burden of out of control government spending.
    
    President Obama and Company are  just plain incompetent when it comes to governing, money and jobs.

    Problem with Obama is he is still too wishy washy and does not really stand for anything.  He is still in the back pockets of the banking industry and that is causing major problem.  He does not know what he is doing in Afganistan.  ie either go full force or just get out.  He has no idea how to create jobs.  He blames everything on previous president.  He is too nicey nicey with foreign governments and has just lost us lots of respect.  He is not the mosiah we sent to washington.   
    
    His major problem is he picked a fight with the GOP from day 1 with his inauguration speech.  He thought he could do everything he wanted without the support of any GOP person in this country.  Well he was wrong.  There are still many republicans in this country and now he is loosing the fight and licking his wounds.

       The achievable objective - removing Al Qaeda as a threat was achieved long ago. Helping Al Qaeda in their recruiting efforts by slaughtering innocent Iraqis nullified that victory. 
       
       The present goal of building a nation where none has ever existed is an immoral waste of brave soldier's lives and should end ASAP.

          Lyndon Johnson sent troops to Vietnam and they were brought back by a republican administration, so the republican president in office while they were there is not responsible for keeping them there?

                Time will tell whether a republican will be POTUS ever again, but one thing seems to be obvious, Obama is not the popular person he was in January 2009. Polls I have seen indicate 60% of voters want his health care plan repealed, that is not a good sign for Democrats.

    It remains to be seen who will remember who caused what at the end of Obama's first term - I hope he gets the chance to get into the second term as I do not think he caused any of this.  The fact that people are expecting him to fix something that has been broken for at LEAST 8 years is ridiculous but no one ever seems to want to listen to that part of the statement. 
    
    My feeling is that we are spending way too much time working on BLAME when I think as a nation, we should be spending more time on FIXING things and doing what we can about our own world and our own country (like contacting our reps, etc and voicing our opinions, getting involved) - instead of sitting back and tossing out political banter.  What good does it do ANYWAY?  Like anyone is reading all of our hubs and forums and they are going to really make a difference?
    
    I always think that it is easy to judge from where we sit and that the true proof of one's administration will be the aftermath - good or bad.  We'll just have to wait and see - and in the meantime, shut our yaps about who did what and who isn't doing what - and get involved! If we don't do that, we really shouldn't have a leg to stand on - or an argument, eh?  One old lady's opinion from Central Oregon!

    I do agree with you, Studio E - I think we are definitely at the mercy of politicians and they are doing nothing right - EITHER party.  I don't know if it is possible to think along the lines of a third party just because every time we seem to have someone 'else' in the mix, we end up throwing away our votes more or less by voting for them and then the same 2 jerk parties win!
    
    Not sure what the heck the answer is - but something's gotta give! What a mess - it would seem to me that they should be working together and trying to solve some of these terrible problems rather than blocking each other every step of the way - and putting us middle Americans in the fray. 
    
    I still think though speaking up and voting only for those who probably can make a difference is the answer - but then how do ya know?  They all SOUND good on paper and during the campaigns...and then we end up disappointed in the end with what they are not doing. 
    
    I guess time will tell how it all plays out, eh?

Note that the interest on the debt is $ 1 billion a day.

    President Obama‘s stimulus bill started out at $727 billion and today it‘s up to $825 billion ( all borrowed money .) Today only $425 billion has been spent  on saving public government jobs. Unemployment is 9.5%.
    One must wonder why so little of the stimulus money has been spent. Why isn’t the money being used to help the unemployed using the surplus stimulus money. The democrats and president Obama wants the extension of unemployment benefits to pass, but refuse to offset costs ( $33 billion) by using unspent stimulus funds.. They say one thing and hide doing just the opposite by borrowing more money, further enlarging the national debt.  Wake up America before we will go like Greece.

    Obama is just continuing the mess Bush started. Obama criticized Bush on Iraq yet put us in Libya. When fuel price skyrocked under Bush the press went into a frenzy. As fuel prices skyrocket now all is quiet and not a word.
    
    Fact is that Bush is history and it's Obama's game now. It's easy to blame someone else.
    
    If Obama was truthful and serious, we would not be in Libya, gas prices would not be high, bailouts would not have occurred and food prisce would not be rising.
    
    Obama is a politician and he will do what benefits him, his party, and his buddies who helped him win the election with funding. Obama is proud to continue the cycle of endless ideology and corruption.
    
    Sit back, relax, and have some more koolaid

    Remember Barack Obama was a US senator before he was president?
    
    He voted for the mess.  He was known as one of the most liberal senators in Congress.
    
    If you believe, as I do, that a major component of the economic crisis we are suffering was the housing bubble caused in large part by banks being forced by Congress to make unsustainable mortgage loans to minorities while being freed to create exotic financial products to protect their profits in the face of expected losses, then you should know that Barack Obama was in favor of those things.
    
    If you believe Fannie Mae had a clear role in the debacle you should know that Barack Obama was one of their favorite senators.

    You people disgust me.  First let it go.  Stop saying that Obama is blaming the mess on Bush, he isn't...other people are.  We should blame bush, because it is his fault.  We spent 8 years under Bush and in those years he is the one that caused those problems not Obama.  So I would advise you to shut the hell up about the current President.   It took 8 years for us to reach our current problems, did you honestly think that he was going to fix it over night, with the wave of a magic wand or something?  No, he doesn't have that kind of power.  It took time for us to get to this point, it will take time to fix it.  So what he made promises, politicians do that, duh.  They all make promises, but I don't hear anyone else talking about all the others that fail to keep them.   
    
    This is all I have to say.  Until all of you take on the role of president and you have walked in his shoes, and have fixed all the problems wrong with our nation...I don't want to freaking hear it from any of you.  You don't know what he has to deal with everyday from nuts like you thinking they know it all.   
    
    Until I see President "Whatever your face is" in the headlines fixing all the problems overnight I would advise you to take a freaking chill pill and leave the man alone.

Who else, here, can even claim that. If the republicans were half as patriotic and loyal to this country as Obama they'd step up to the plate and help fix this mess but it's too much to bear for their little minds that an African-American holds the presidency. Why try to help the country when we can focus our efforts on making Obama a one-termer. Right GOP (Government of the Privileged)?
