The right seems to be oblivious to the fact that when ole George Bush left office, unemployment was at 7.8%. I know all of you right-wingers expected Obama to clean up Bush's mess, but when Bush's mess becomes the 2nd biggest economic mess since the Great Depression how can Obama alone fix these problems. You all see it everyday CEOs making $48,000,000 in a year and the companies of the CEOs shedding jobs like fur.(Obama's fault, right?) We have to be the dumbest country in the world to sit and let a mechanism like capitalism tear us out of house and home. Unemployment is at the worst rate in about 80 years and companies continue to rack up the dough and ship off your jobs. This is the truth that I see. I'm not manipulated by any political organization; this is how it is! CEOs are making money because they are able to cut labor here and hire someone in India to do our jobs for half the price.SHOULD OBAMA GO INTO THE BOARD ROOMS AND STOP THE CEOs from doing it? You all would cry "bloody-murder" and try him for treason. All of you are so manipulated by whatever political affiliations that you serve that you can't even look at a picture without turning it upside down. Put these CEOs and board members on trial! They are the ones robbing you for your jobs.
Nah.
We didn't expect Obama to clean up anyone's mess.
We expected him to NOT create even more mess and blame it on Bush.
Oopsie! Guess what he did? He created more mess and is blamin' it on Bush.
By the way, if Obama inherited everything, wonder why he didn't inherit some common morals and ability to deduce right from wrong?
Yeah, like Newt Gingrich...."Oral sex is not adultery."
Or remember when all the rethugs were foaming at the mouth with the Clinton scandal, until Hustler magazine uncovered a boat-load of dirt on them???
Ohh, ye of little morals...(almost said orals.......AHAHAHAHA)
BO takes responsability for his messes....but he should not have to take the fall for Bushco and friends 8 years of outright theft.
Right before your very eyeballs....must have been too busy watching the flag to notice.
that's taking a page right out Bill Clinton's book. That wasn't adultery either.
@ Brenda Durhame
Bush didn't leave any morals or decency to inherit. And if Obama was George Bush, we would've sanctioned N. Korea and Iran when they announced that they could produce nuclear weapons. (Try 4 wars, yeah he should be more like Bush)
It is irrelevant who started it, what is relevant is that Obama has had little success in fixing it. He has no leadership skills and he has no understanding how business works and that causes him to have no idea how to get things going again.
Glenn Beck doesn't have a clue how to do it either.
If you need surgery, you get a specialist if you wish to have success. We need someone a with business background to get us out of this mess. Socialism and socialists can not fix what is wrong.
I agree completely, Clinton had the budget balanced when he left office. The came way to many years of Bushes in office. The right is wrong! They make some of the dumbest comments. I saw one Republican state "if this healthcare bill passes, people will be going to jail" he had the reporter who was interviewing him laughing histerically. Sarah Palin makes me puke.
sigh.. there was no balanced budget. ever... it was a myth. it was projected to be balanced just as the surplus was projected. and as soon as congress heard that news. they went on yet another spending spree. so the forecasts for a balanced budget and the surplus never came about. in fact we started into a micro recession a year before bush took office.
then 9/11 happened and the economy took another hit. then the facts are a modest economic growth for eight years under bush. that growth began to falter as the Election rolled around.
Personally I dont give a crap if the recession started a hundred years ago. Obama is president, he either needs to do his job and stop blaming the prior president or he needs to resign becuase he cant do his job.
of course if you democrats dont mind the damage to the party and the failure to have Obama president a second time. by all means sit back and defend his blame games and lack of leadership. defend the constant Czar scandals, the unconstitutional bills and game playing.
it doesnt matter if you believe its happening or not. enough people do to make a difference next election. or maybe you could actually study the issues and the facts more and try to understand why so many people are jumping off the obama bandwagon across the nation and the wold.
"Obama is president, he either needs to do his job and stop blaming the prior president or he needs to resign becuase he cant do his job."
I'm pretty sure he thinks blaming Bush is his job.
I hope you come back to read this.
You're right when the debt showed some light at the end of the tunnel our elected leader went on a spending spree as we NEED to. The problem is that you are NOT an economist and you don’t know how our money works. If the debt gets paid off our money becomes worthless. We have a system here in America call the fractional reserve system. Which means that our money is all based on debt. If you get a loan to buy a house you go to your bank and they create money out of thin air. That money is sent to the sellers bank account and they can spend their money however they see fit. What most people don’t realize is that the bank that loaned you the money only had to actually possess roughly one tenth of it. I'm sure this is way over your head so we'll move on.
9/11 sucker punched the economy and we all felt it so we very quickly forgot that our lame duck president was sipping jack and cokes in Texas and attending elementary school book readings. If Obama got caught doing any of that some activist red neck would be making some pretty harsh plans for his demise. I would also have to say that we did not have modest growth for eight years under bush and it completely discredits you to say such a thing. This mess that we are in is because bush had bills put through like the patriot act which allowed him to make closed door decisions to give his oil rich family and friends government contracts. Ok so that part really gets under my skin so let’s move on again.
About him doing his job and stop blaming the prior administration. let me make my point clear right up front WE ALL BLAIM BUSH FOR SCREWING UP OUR COUNTRY. Pres Obama is working hard night and day to repair the damage and he is starting to make ground. as of this month the unemployment rate is starting to head back down. It really urgs me when people act like he should have waived some magic wand and fixed it all over night. In most cases it takes up to 6 years for presidential decision to show their pros and cons. For example Bush's No child left behind bill which appears to be working out. I’m all for any president who puts focus on education as it is widely known that American educations leave something to be desired, with the proof showing its ugly face in most of the posts here spouting NObama hatred. Well I say GObama. Keep up the hard work and do what you can with the short amount of time we have you for. I truly believe that if all you extremist would just stop wanting to be part of the group who is slowing down the progress of this nation by fighting Obama tooth and nail the whole time just so you can be a part of group where your retired grandparents and rich bosses are in we can really do some good here. Please I am begging you to stop thinking about yourself and think about America as a whole. It begins when you stop playing back seat politicians and pretending you know one iota about what it take to run the greatest nation on the planet because your emotions may just cause enough hatred in others to mess up what will be good for us all.
Ok i'm done with my rant for now but seriously do a little research before you light your tourch and grab your pichfork.
sorry but the democratic party said the dumbest things...Nancy pelosi, we have to pass the bill to see what is in it! and the ole food stamps is the biggest bang for the buck! very embarrassing. Bush messed up with Invading Iraq if that war did not start it would not have been this bad, bad but not this bad. I hated Bush
The fact is that Barack Obama is the president NOW. He told the American people he had the solutions. So the real question is, why does Barack Obama keep blaming Bush for everything Barack Obama can't fix?
Here's the truth. Obama promised to fix all our troubles. Just go back to his campaign speeches. If he knew he couldn't do it, he should have said so and there would be no expectations of him. Since he promised to be the greatest thing since sliced bread, he needs to put up. Those that back him need to either help him fix things or shut up and let someone else try.
LOL @ the liberals who are going to try and string this excuse out for every single day of obama's one and only term!
And just who can beat President Obama in 2012?
You keep up with the phony outrage of the day - each and every day - but conservatives have no leaders.
Hillary!
Where is our Secretary? Why is the VP doing her job?
Sure they do...
Sarah Palin Rush Limbaugh Glenn Beck Forrest Gump....
True! Plenty of leaders there!
Maybe Beck leading the GOP? Now I would pay to see that!
He and Limbaugh are the GOP braintrust.
"And just who can beat President Obama in 2012?"
He keeps on the way he's going, just about anyone. But I think we'll be hearing from Mr. Romney again.
Romney: The Great GOP Hope. Don't make me laugh! Son of George, who's famous for saying that he was brainwashed into supporting the Vietnam war. Good grief, why not Jeb Bush? Do you right-wingers and tea-baggers envision teaming one of these idiots with Palin and "Bringing America Back?" LMFAO!!!!!!! Good Luck!
If unemployment got to 7.8% obama would be on the TV blowing a vuvuzela and touting his unbelievable success! LOL!
"We have to be the dumbest country in the world to sit and let a mechanism like capitalism tear us out of house and home"
"SHOULD OBAMA GO INTO THE BOARD ROOMS AND STOP THE CEOs from doing it? Put these CEOs and board members on trial!"
Let the great people's revolution begin! Right? Wrong. You're outta luck, comrade 'cause it ain't gonna happen. Or I should say you are in luck because it ain't gonna happen.
If W was your guy, wouldn't you try to run from his record too?
Where is that dufus anyway? There have been many opportunities for him to share his "thoughts" with the country, why are the Republicans sequestering him?
you could say that every president has inherited the problems from the previous president, thats just and excuse that is made when a president can't fix the problem. They will say the same thing about the next president, about the gulf oil spill, and the economy as well. It's all just excuses.
I agree Sab Oh Every president and their supporters should realize that they will inherit from the previous president and work to fix the problem rather than place blame and say well I can't fix it but it wasn't my fault I inherited it.
Yes...I think Obama can stop with the blaming now...it's been enough time.
And I think he has done just the right amount of blaming. And the right amount of taking responsability.
No more blame now.
Just if idiots bring on the impeachment malarkey...then of COURSE, Bushco will HAVE to be Re-Iterated....as that bunch got away with MURDER. imo
Whoa now!(sorry that's the Texas in me) When Bush was sworn into office unemployment was 4.1%. When he left office he had almost doubled that number. Bush inherited a $350,000,000,000 budget surplus, but handed Obama a deficit of $1,300,000,000,000. Do we really need another Republican president waisting taxpayer dollars? (You right-wingers won't admit that though) No president has ever inherited that much debt. Ever!
"So Obama you get to inherit 2 wars, a record federal trade deficit, an unemployment rate of almost 8%, a collapsing housing industry, a collapsing credit industry, a collapsing auto industry, and a collapsing banking industry." After he's done trying to clean up all of these messes we can send him to save Lois Lane at the Daily Planet.
It's been proven to all but the most rabidly partisan W worshippers. You are well aware of this as the subject has been covered ad nauseum in these forums and elsewhere.
Your disengenous question "why wasn't he prosecuted?" that you pull out in desperation as your other attempts to obfuscate fail is one that you know the answer to but are unwilling to admit. Prosecutions of high-ranking government officials are very dependent on the current political situation. Do you really think the Senators' decision to let Clinton off was a result of their firmly held belief's that he was innocent.
Don't even bother replying, I'll cover it for you..
I wish you people would stop with the personal attacks. I nevvvvvvvvvvvver attack anyone personally. That's why my presence is always welcome in any online forum.
" I nevvvvvvvvvvvver attack anyone personally. That's why my presence is always welcome in any online forum."
That and your off-the-wall sense of humor.
haroldwilson1985
Let's not forget that the Republicans helped Clinton balance the budget and helped to create the surplus that Clinton takes credit for.
2000 Bush inherits a Clinton recession, 911 attack, started Afghanistan war, Iraq war ( approved by democrats )and Katrina disaster. Oh I forgot that the Democrats took over Congress in 2007. The last 2 years of Bush with the Democrats in charge we had the Oil price escalation, Housing collapse and Banking problems.
In 2000 Bush with the Republicans in charge, unemployment was at the start of Bush presidency was ( 4.1% ), end of Republican/Bush Congress it was 4.6%( not bad ).
Bush left with a $1.3 billion deficit of which $ 700 billion bailed out the banking industry ( Obama voted for the bailout ).Note that the $700 billion plus inters has been paid back with interest. Your hub failed to report that actually the Bush deficit was $600 billion.
Take note that Obama has increased the deficit 3+ x the Bush deficit and is still counting. Unemployment is 9.7% and the economy has yet to be fixed.
Your ending remarks need to researched more completely for hub readers.
Give us what Barak Obama promised ‘’ open and transparent government ‘’, THE WHOLE TRUTH not half truths.
The democratic party controlled congress. It is as much their mess.
Obama has done nothing to get out of the mess. His stimulis was not a stimulus but a payment to minorities, and did not stimulate natural jobs. As a matter of fact, 1/2 of the stimulus may not even be payed out yet, but is being held for BO discretion. Therefore he does not even believe it would work or he would have used it.
Also, Fannie May, and Freddie Mac was a lot of the problem, and it was overseen by none other than Bawnie Fwank and Chris Dodd. They did not let the republicans pass legislature to keep this from happening. Blame Bush all you want, but I look at the Democrat legislature for a lot of the fault.
I can agree with most of this - It is also that after Bush so many positions in every sector are loaded with his supporters at every level. The banking system that robbed everyone blind is the same system that O has to deal with along with the neocons in the judiciary. Who could think all those Bush supporters are now pulling their weight in a different direction in support of the new guy - especially when we see evidence on here of their opinions and name calling?
If your dog craps on the floor you clean it up. George Bush went all over the place.
But instead of cleaning it up... Obama dropped his pants and made more piles... then he smeared it all around.
This little analogy is brought to you people who don't understand the "he just inherited it" argument in a rational context.
I agree that BO inherited a mess, but he's only making it worse. We can also blame Congress for part of the W mess - it was controlled by democrats for W's last 2 years - not that W had any great ideas of his own.

WELCOMED TO THE WORLD OF HUB POLITICAL DEBATE. Liberal Democrat, Conservative Republican or Independent Libcon voice opinions that come from a lot of research for the truth. Having said that, I would like to comment on your hub as follows.
You said ‘’The right seems to be oblivious to the fact that when ole George Bush left office,
unemployment was at 7.8%.’’
When the Democrats took majority control of Congress in 2007 unemployment was 4.6%.Needless to say the last 2 years that Bush was in office Congress wasn’t doing a good job with running the economy.
Take note that the 2007 Congress still is command of the economy for 3 years (2007-2010) and unemployment is 9.7% nationally, other parts of the country as high as 18% plus. Obama was in Congress in those same years.
‘’Unemployment is at the worst rate in about 80 years and companies continue to rack up the dough and ship off your jobs. This is the truth that I see.’’
If companies don’t make a profit they go broke. There are many companies going broke, end result is lost jobs and lost taxes( what government takes from profits ) , government rules, regulation and taxes force companies abroad.
‘’SHOULD OBAMA GO INTO THE BOARD ROOMS AND STOP THE CEOs from doing it? ‘
No , the constitution , if followed does not give him that right to interfere with corporate America. Well we know that he just did do it.
Since President Obama said he is adopting pay-go on spending. Pay-go legislation was approved by Congress and signed by President Obama
Obama said that Congress has to stop spending ,$400 million to the radical Palestinians apparently is not a part of the pay-go legislation. Congress recently raised the debt ceiling to $14.1 trillion with Obama's urging .
Watching the President appearing on TV and saying such wonderful things when he does just the opposite disturbs many people. He really needs to start telling the American people the truth
The 2011 budget has yet to be submitted to Congress for debate and approval, wonder why?
The people are still waiting for the jobs that were promised. Every day the $1 billion interest on the deficit has to be paid with borrowed money .Sounds like we the people are headed in the wrong direction.Obama promised open and transparent government, really.
The average pay in the PUBLIC sector is $70,000 plus $40,000 in fringed benefits, a total of $110,000. In comparison the average pay in the PRIVATE sector is $40,000 plus $9,000 in fringe benefits, a total of $49,000.
SOMETHING is very wrong, why does public employees receive $31,000 more in fringe benefits than the private sector?
Maybe that's the answer to why states, cities and towns are going broke by having the taxpayers shouldering the burden of out of control government spending.
President Obama and Company are just plain incompetent when it comes to governing, money and jobs.
Of course they have to interfere with corporate America!!! Corporate America are a bunch of using, dis-loyal crooks!!!!
You allow people to be arrested for driving without a license, yet corporations are accountable to no one? Like hell.
The bigger the CROOK, the bigger the interference needed.
And thousands of people died as a result?
Obama sent them? Obama is responsible for thousands of military and civilian casualties in Iraq?
Whatchoo smokin' Willis?
You backed the wrong horse for 8 years and now you want his clone in the Whitehouse.
Why do you hate America so much? Did we wipe out your ancestors or something?
OK, I guess all this bad news about Obama is getting to you. Don't worry, everything will be fine because Obama is president. He hasn't lied to his constituents, he hasn't lied about the healthcare bill, he is still, in the words of his VP, articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.
Of course you can't come up with an actual reply - pity
Problem with Obama is he is still too wishy washy and does not really stand for anything. He is still in the back pockets of the banking industry and that is causing major problem. He does not know what he is doing in Afganistan. ie either go full force or just get out. He has no idea how to create jobs. He blames everything on previous president. He is too nicey nicey with foreign governments and has just lost us lots of respect. He is not the mosiah we sent to washington.
His major problem is he picked a fight with the GOP from day 1 with his inauguration speech. He thought he could do everything he wanted without the support of any GOP person in this country. Well he was wrong. There are still many republicans in this country and now he is loosing the fight and licking his wounds.
The actual problem is exactly the opposite. He gave these children a seat at the adults' table before they were ready for it. He has since corrected that error by giving the Repubs a good bitch slapping when they deserve it.
So Ron, are you saying BO hasn't sent any troops to Afghanistan??
Never said nor implied anything like that. I don't support his continuation of Bush's mistake, we should have been out long ago.
The achievable objective - removing Al Qaeda as a threat was achieved long ago. Helping Al Qaeda in their recruiting efforts by slaughtering innocent Iraqis nullified that victory.
The present goal of building a nation where none has ever existed is an immoral waste of brave soldier's lives and should end ASAP.
Lyndon Johnson sent troops to Vietnam and they were brought back by a republican administration, so the republican president in office while they were there is not responsible for keeping them there?
You did imply that Obama can't be blamed for them being there, only Bush could.
The POTUS is in charge and should accept his responsibility in all matters concerning this country, remember "the buck stops here"?
When he quits pointing fingers maybe he can start doing the job he was elected to do.
He IS doing the job we elected him to do. That's what has the wingnuts so upset. They wanted 8 more years of water-boarding, illegal wiretaps, and corporation rule.
They better hope for a reincarnation. None of us will suffer under another Republican president in this lifetime.
Since a Republican will win in 2012, are you and your cohorts planning to prevent him or her from attending the inauguration like they tried to do with Bush?
Time will tell whether a republican will be POTUS ever again, but one thing seems to be obvious, Obama is not the popular person he was in January 2009. Polls I have seen indicate 60% of voters want his health care plan repealed, that is not a good sign for Democrats.
I wouldn't want to speculate considering the fickleness of the US voter!
But, yeah, 2012 seems about right.
When Flight mentioned the army in Afghanistan, you replied with, "Obama sent them?"
Sorry if I misunderstood. I agree with you on the concept of nation-building.
It remains to be seen who will remember who caused what at the end of Obama's first term - I hope he gets the chance to get into the second term as I do not think he caused any of this. The fact that people are expecting him to fix something that has been broken for at LEAST 8 years is ridiculous but no one ever seems to want to listen to that part of the statement.
My feeling is that we are spending way too much time working on BLAME when I think as a nation, we should be spending more time on FIXING things and doing what we can about our own world and our own country (like contacting our reps, etc and voicing our opinions, getting involved) - instead of sitting back and tossing out political banter. What good does it do ANYWAY? Like anyone is reading all of our hubs and forums and they are going to really make a difference?
I always think that it is easy to judge from where we sit and that the true proof of one's administration will be the aftermath - good or bad. We'll just have to wait and see - and in the meantime, shut our yaps about who did what and who isn't doing what - and get involved! If we don't do that, we really shouldn't have a leg to stand on - or an argument, eh? One old lady's opinion from Central Oregon!
Sorry, if I am repeating somebody's words, BUT! Obama didn't inherit anything! He pleaded for it, he begged for it, he campaigned for it. Now when he got it, he doesn't know what to do with it.
"And thousands of people died as a result?"
It's getting there. The promise to bring home Troops from Afghanistan was a complete lie. Everyday more and more soldiers are dying as Obama perpetuates a war that can not be won.
ok its my turn, check this out have you ever heard of three card molly? well the democrat and republican leadership is playing two card molly on we the people and as long as we keep bickering at each other about who is right or wrong nothing will change. vote all of those bastards out!!! or let them continue to play two card molly. its us ( the american people ) against them ( the so called leadership of this country ) democrats and republicans. remember they work for us, or do they?
I do agree with you, Studio E - I think we are definitely at the mercy of politicians and they are doing nothing right - EITHER party. I don't know if it is possible to think along the lines of a third party just because every time we seem to have someone 'else' in the mix, we end up throwing away our votes more or less by voting for them and then the same 2 jerk parties win!
Not sure what the heck the answer is - but something's gotta give! What a mess - it would seem to me that they should be working together and trying to solve some of these terrible problems rather than blocking each other every step of the way - and putting us middle Americans in the fray.
I still think though speaking up and voting only for those who probably can make a difference is the answer - but then how do ya know? They all SOUND good on paper and during the campaigns...and then we end up disappointed in the end with what they are not doing.
I guess time will tell how it all plays out, eh?
Is this what Russsssshhhhhhhhhh meant by "Barack the Magic Negro"?
Wave a magic wand and 30 years of thievery goes away?
NAH. It will take much more time than 2 years even 4.....
But really all they would have to do is stop the thieves from thieving.
Business, Big Wealth...PAY YOUR FAIR SHARE!!
YOU got rich in this country, stop STEALING from it by AVOIDING taxes!!!
I'm sure you know what Leona Helmsley said??
"Only the little people pay taxes.".....And I bet it's true.
You are mis-stating. The unemployment during the Bush admin was about 5.4%
VOTE! Vote NOW . GET out there and vote for an independent, VOTE THESE GERIATRIC CLOWNS in congress right out of there (obama too) , you cna start with an incumbent republican who voted no for extended unemployment! LOL
we have become the UCSA(United Corporate States of America). next they'll change our state names to whatever corporation can sponsor us.
Nikeapolis, Fort General Motors, Citgoville.
In my lifetime I could see a Walmart City coming into play.(like the Mall of America only bigger)
I can remember seeing "Soylent Green" (by Richard Fleischer) in college and thinking "in about 100 years America will look like a scene from this movie.
Good ol NRA champion Charlton Heston. Soylent Green, mmmmm good! Don't think you have to wait long. The rat cage is already getting nasty.
Hahahahaaha soylent Green we're already there look at all the zombies on jerry springer and your not the daddy maury povich show. they will be leading this country pretty soon, so bite into some flesh so you can get use to the taste. yuck :{
I think Clinton said it best the other day, unhappy people always blame government for their problems, whoever the president is at the time.
that can easily be seen in this forum. everything is the governments fault, even your unruly children or the kids in the grocery store..
there seems to be a huge lack of personal responsibility.
lol easy. They've been playing Obama's Fault. Where you blame everything and anything possible on Obama and his administration.
Obama doesn't strike me as unhappy....he's got a great smile!..Lights up a room.
And that was his only qualification for being President.
A great smile and nothing else.
We are one lucky country.
simply because he is a democrat, that's all the reason anybody needs
When they all get in office they inherit a mess, but what do they ever do about it but talk. They continue to say what they want to do to help the economy, the middle class people but, nothing seems to be changing. But they still get paid while we the people are barely surviving in the whole mess they created......
... because... he didn't end it?... even after he said he would end it in his first year?
...?
that's like saying "oh man, my family was poor, and that means I have absolutely no hope of becoming rich or even middle class!"
History is always the best set of eye glasses. History is going to show that George W Bush did all he could for this country. Will it show the same for Obama?... time will tell.

Barak Obama Quotes of the past Week 7/18/10
Obama said the GOP leadership has chosen to ‘’ filibuster our recovery and obstruct our progress ‘’ by blocking votes on a bill to extend unemployment benefits. Obama said ‘’these steps aren’t just the right thing to do for those hardest hit by the recession’’ , ‘’ they’re the right thing to do for all of us.’’
Since Obama took office in 2009 the nation has lost some 3 million jobs, increased the deficits $1.3 trillion , over $ 1 trillion in 2010 and another $ 1 trillion plus coming in 2011( BUDGET FOR 2011HAS NOT BEEN APPROVED AS YET ).
Obama said lawmakers’ obligations to extend benefits is both moral and practical because it puts money in the pockets of people who are likely to spend it quickly.
There is an old saying ‘’ I want the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.’’ Barak Obama, the Democrat leadership and the press are reporting that the Republicans are holding up the passage of the $33 billion bill because of a filibuster. The bill as it stands now will not be deficit neutral as the bill if passed will be added to the $ trillions of deficit spending that the PAY-GO bill signed by President Obama was t meant to control spending. Note that the interest on the debt is $ 1 billion a day.
The whole truth that is not being reported is that the Republican senate is for an unemployment extension as long as the cost is not added to the deficit as our President and Congress are attempting to do. The Republicans are not the bad guys in this instance as they try to control adding more to the national debt.
How hypocritical can the Democrat controlled congress and President Barak Obama be to issue such half true and untruthful statements.
2/13/10 2:04 PM EST ( NOTE THE DATE )
President Barack Obama is hailing pay-as-you-go budget legislation he SIGNED Friday night as one in a series of crucial steps needed to snap Washington out of a destructive pattern of overspending.
“Now, Congress will have to pay for what it spends, just like everybody else,” Obama said in his radio and Internet address released Saturday
morning. “After a decade of profligacy, the American people are tired of politicians who talk the talk but don’t walk the walk when it comes to fiscal responsibility. It’s easy to get up in front of the cameras and rant against exploding deficits. What’s hard is actually getting deficits under control. But that’s what WE MUST DO
Let’s not forget that the Democrats took majority control of Congress in 2007 with Obama in the senate. In 2008 the Democrat Congress passed the bank bail out bill with Obama’s yes vote. 4 years and the nation is still waiting for the jobs, it is apparent that government wasteful spending don‘t produce jobs
President Obama‘s stimulus bill started out at $727 billion and today it‘s up to $825 billion ( all borrowed money .) Today only $425 billion has been spent on saving public government jobs. Unemployment is 9.5%.
One must wonder why so little of the stimulus money has been spent. Why isn’t the money being used to help the unemployed using the surplus stimulus money. The democrats and president Obama wants the extension of unemployment benefits to pass, but refuse to offset costs ( $33 billion) by using unspent stimulus funds.. They say one thing and hide doing just the opposite by borrowing more money, further enlarging the national debt. Wake up America before we will go like Greece.
LRCBlogger
Today it was exposed that the states of Pennsylvania and Maryland will get an ok to use federal money thru the healthcare bill to perform abortions. Just another untruth spoken by the almighty one, Barak Obama.
Obama is just continuing the mess Bush started. Obama criticized Bush on Iraq yet put us in Libya. When fuel price skyrocked under Bush the press went into a frenzy. As fuel prices skyrocket now all is quiet and not a word.
Fact is that Bush is history and it's Obama's game now. It's easy to blame someone else.
If Obama was truthful and serious, we would not be in Libya, gas prices would not be high, bailouts would not have occurred and food prisce would not be rising.
Obama is a politician and he will do what benefits him, his party, and his buddies who helped him win the election with funding. Obama is proud to continue the cycle of endless ideology and corruption.
Sit back, relax, and have some more koolaid
Obama is king - live with the hope and change!
Hey Joe, if you cannot see the damage done by politicians for the last 30 years, much less worry about the previous administration, then you are just spewing distortion.
Just a thought.
Let me quote my self -
"Obama is proud to continue the cycle of endless ideology and corruption."
30 years? Try the last hundred!
Obama like his predecessors is devastating this country.
Do you realize that in a few months the US will default on its loans. The interest alone is more than the IRS takes in. Get ready we are going down hard!
As much a Obama is the blame, so is Bush, Clinton, Bush Sr. etc.. Obama is just carrying their touch.
Years from now, obama will be a very old man, living in the Acorn Acres retirement community, and when he spills his pudding on the floor will complain to his nurse that he inherited this mess from Bush.
Remember Barack Obama was a US senator before he was president?
He voted for the mess. He was known as one of the most liberal senators in Congress.
If you believe, as I do, that a major component of the economic crisis we are suffering was the housing bubble caused in large part by banks being forced by Congress to make unsustainable mortgage loans to minorities while being freed to create exotic financial products to protect their profits in the face of expected losses, then you should know that Barack Obama was in favor of those things.
If you believe Fannie Mae had a clear role in the debacle you should know that Barack Obama was one of their favorite senators.
Barack Obama participated in the rape of our economy.
AND he campaigned on the promise of his ability to solve the problem.
Why anybody believed him, I will never understand.
You people disgust me. First let it go. Stop saying that Obama is blaming the mess on Bush, he isn't...other people are. We should blame bush, because it is his fault. We spent 8 years under Bush and in those years he is the one that caused those problems not Obama. So I would advise you to shut the hell up about the current President. It took 8 years for us to reach our current problems, did you honestly think that he was going to fix it over night, with the wave of a magic wand or something? No, he doesn't have that kind of power. It took time for us to get to this point, it will take time to fix it. So what he made promises, politicians do that, duh. They all make promises, but I don't hear anyone else talking about all the others that fail to keep them.
This is all I have to say. Until all of you take on the role of president and you have walked in his shoes, and have fixed all the problems wrong with our nation...I don't want to freaking hear it from any of you. You don't know what he has to deal with everyday from nuts like you thinking they know it all.
Until I see President "Whatever your face is" in the headlines fixing all the problems overnight I would advise you to take a freaking chill pill and leave the man alone.
Couldn't have said it better Ryking! Funny to see all the people talking about leadership and not being able to do the job. Obama holds the number one job in the world. Who else, here, can even claim that. If the republicans were half as patriotic and loyal to this country as Obama they'd step up to the plate and help fix this mess but it's too much to bear for their little minds that an African-American holds the presidency. Why try to help the country when we can focus our efforts on making Obama a one-termer. Right GOP (Government of the Privileged)?
It's Obama's War - he inherited it the day he was sworn in.
He has yet to end a single war, and instead has started 2.
There is only ONE anti-war candidate: RON PAUL.

I was just laying here on my mother's bedroom floor. She turned to one of the TV preachers, and he was talking about how much Jesus loves us, and the sacrifices that He made for us, and how every human is expected to consciously make a decision to follow Him.And I thought about the girls stuck...

Why does everyone expect an apology for something said? When somewhat outrageous things are said, why do people expect an apology? once something is said it is out there and an apology isn't going to change the way that person felt at the time. Especially the media will harp on those words even if...

Why does everyone want to stay young?I, for one, am looking forward to aging. It will come in due time, and I wlil be able to experience life and nature's laws in their truest form, instead of fighting them. Why this war against aging? It's another way of saying aging is a bad thing....it's really...

Ultimately, Christianity is a personal thing before a personal God, not the church. Could it just be that human beings are screwed up and like any other organization on the face of this earth, the church has its fair share of screw balls? To not believe because of a few pharisees is foolish. If we...
