Many white people have long been opposed to inter-racial marriage and relationships.
In fact, George W Bush spoke at an educational institution where inter-racial relationships between students was forbidden!! He did this AS president!

It's funny now to see some of these white people take offense to other people who feel the same way.

I would like to know the name and location of this educational institution. The idea that there is a government funded establishment in America which makes rules in favor of segregation is unconstitutional.

        March 1, 2000

"Bob Jones III, president of Bob Jones University (BJU), announced March 3 that the fundamentalist school is dropping its longstanding ban on interracial dating. The move comes after widespread criticism of the policy in the wake of presidential candidate George W. Bush's campaign appearance at the school. Jones surprised students and supporters by announcing the policy change during an interview on CNN's "Larry King Live." Jones acknowledged that recent scrutiny of the school's policies was behind the decision. "This thing has gotten so out of hand," he said. "All of a sudden the university is at the center of a Republican presidential debate."The southern school adopted its ban on interracial dating in the 1950s. BJU did not admit black students until the 1970s. The school lost its tax-exempt status in 1983 after a 13-year battle with the Internal Revenue Service, which said the school's policies violated federal law.The school had justified its ban on interracial dating by saying that God created people differently for a reason.George W. Bush spoke at the school prior to South Carolina's primary."

You see the difference between me and you is you post lies and I don't. Bob Jones is a PRIVATE religious school. Bush spoke there as a CANDIDATE not as president.

You really need to understand the differences between this and Common's endorsement by the WH.

I really don't think Bush's being a candidate makes his speaking at a school that condones racism is much better, to be honest. neutral

I agree. I don't like that Obama had a link to the New Black Panthers on his website, either, before he removed it due to public outrage. Anyone who desires the office of POTUS should be colorblind. They should see only red-white-and-blue when they look at America and Americans.

            EVERY American is an American!!!!

The differenc is--white straight Christian Americans are always accepted, while other colors, sexual preference oriented, and religions have always been placed on the outside.

Time we all realize that we are NOT all alike...and that's OK.
            We are STILL all Americans.

LMC, I think folks should be able to marry whomever they want, as long as it's a consenting adult. Animals should not be included because they can't give their consent. lol

Black and white, man and man, woman and woman, earthling and Martian...I don't care. You can't help who you fall in love with!

I would never object to one of my sons marrying a woman of a different race.  I would, however, never be able to accept a crazy liberal daughter-in-law.

Actually, it's not just 'white' people who are opposed to inter-racial relationships...a lot of people from different racial groups feel that way.

It's one of the many flaws in America...For a society so enriched with ethnicity and racial backgrounds, it's really a wonder 'we' as Americans can still be suffering from such disparity and prejudice.

although I don't have kids, i probably wouldn't give a damn either way. If my son/daughter wanted to marry outside their race, then I say go for it.  however, if my child wanted to date or marry say a ex-convict, convict that was still in jail or terrorist, then I'd have some issues with that, but that's a whole other story.

Oh and if my child was dating someone with a history of mental instability (i.e. Lorenna Bobbett...or however you spell her name), then I'd definitely have a huge problem with that.
