   Heck of a story that answered a couple questions I've been asking for awhile. Primarily why the repubs didn't let Obama impliment his policies if they were so convinced they would fail. I have had some suspisions for awhile that something like this might explain the problems we are facing. I was aware that the cia was involved with this type of crap for awhile. It never hit me that they would pull this crap in our own country but it doen't suprise me. I have been saying quite frequently that the attacks against us and the level of hatred a lot of the world feels towards us is justified and understandable. Too many American seem to feel that the rest of the world should feel priviledged to have have the US come into their country and kill hundreds of thousands of innocent people. Every time I do the brain dead accuse me of basically being a traitor. F**k 'em if they can't handle the truth once in awhile.

What about what Pelosi said about Dems ignoring Medicare? Do not vote on it, do not talk about it, make no proposals, This issue is how we will keep the Whitehouse. You do not seem upset that Pelosi said that. IF a repub swaid that LMC would be sceaming hang the Repubs. But she is silent on that one. Pelosi is more concerned aout the whitehouse than helping Americans.

         Not a finger was lifted to help Obama, save a couple of decent individuals...Huntsman and the Education guy....Race to the Top Republican (?)
         But PLENTy was done to smear and demonize.
         
         So now, you got your Repubs back...you control the House, you set the agenda......and what is the agenda?
         
         Yet MORE tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy at the top!!!!
         No job-creating ideas, no help for those who are hurting--just cutting from those in need, and giving more to those in greed.

            First, Appontments- yea the Dems were for all of Bushes appointments. Sorry, I fell of my chair laughing. Find me just one Bush appointment on any level Dems did not oppose. They even opposed Dem judges Bush appointed. The only bending over is what Obama is doing to The US. Obamacare, yea he really reached out to Repubs on this issue.             What do you say to the Dem controled senate voting down every bill sp-onsered by Repubs passed by house. They only pass bills sponsored by Dems. I guess that is not stonewalling. And lastly, Dems are screamiong the end of the world if we do not raise the debt limit, but when the house passed a bill to address debt, budget cuts, the voted no. Not one Dems said yes. I can see just how well Dems cooperate.

               Your concept of cooperating is laying down and letting Republicans steamroll their atrocious policies that benefit absolutely NOBODY other than the top 2% and corporations. Backing their policies is nothing more than laying down the future of this nation and its citizens so a few can fleece the nation out of its hard work. Their agenda is disgusting.

                  No I have health care from my union benifits in addition to the Workers comp , Oh yea, I will be losing workers comp because I refuse to give info to be checked for terrorism. But I know, you do not believe it.  I am lucky. Many in America have no health benifits at all. And starting next years that number is going to jump higher, but thats a debate for another thread. By the way, Thanks to Uncle Bill when he overhauled SS benifits, I am not eligable to collect. I took a year off to take care of my parents. So that means I did not earn enough points over the last 10 years to collect. Wait till the unemployed of today get back to work and retire. If they did not work for 10 years straight, they will not collect. This is an issue that will come to light years from now. It should be addressed now.
                  
                  You raised a good question that deserved some research, Did Repubs fillerbuster more under Obama than anytime in History?
                  Despite the fact that Senate procedural tactics are almost never interesting to most Americans, one in particular has been getting a significant amount of media and public attention of late- the filibuster. This is, in large part, due to the growing perception that Republicans are abusing the tactic to derail the Democrat’s political agenda. In response, several Senators have recently called for the reform or elimination of the procedural obstacle.
                  
                  Members of both political parties are fond of accusing the opposing party of being the “obstructionist party” in what often turns into a “he did it first!” debate. While it isn’t particularly useful, in general, to wander into that type of debate, a historical review of the filibuster’s use is helpful in at least one regard: it shows just how abused the procedural tactic has recently become. Many, such as myself, have argued that the filibuster can serve a valuable purpose. That said, the evidence suggests the filibuster is being used with a profligacy never before seen at a time when the Senate’s action on key legislation is perhaps needed the most.
                  
                  I haven’t yet discovered an authoritative source listing the number of times the filibuster has been used by the minority party in any given Congress. The closest I have found is a table (published by the Senate itself) listing the number of motions filed for cloture for each Congress since 1919 (the 66th Congress). While useful, there isn’t a perfect correlation between the use of the filibuster and the number of motions filed for cloture. Often, a majority leader may be aware that he does not have sufficient votes to invoke cloture, and a motion may never be filed. Other times, a majority leader may suspect a minority party Senator will filibuster a bill, motion or amendment and preemptively make a motion for cloture. Furthermore, the filibuster is just one of many obstructionist weapons in a Senator’s arsenal. Others, such as the hold (which often precedes a filibuster), can be equally devastating (and are often anonymous). Consequently, the information below won’t be a perfect analysis of the level of obstructionism of each Congress’ minority party, but it does give at least a rough outline
                  But using that information as a stepping stone, It does show that the Repubs have indeed used the fillerbuster on average more. But it does indicate that it is not the largest time ever. In fact that happened during the 110th Congress during the Bush administration, year 2007-2008. It happened 139 times as opposed to under Obama which is 75. In fact the 75 number is not even in the top 10. So Tex you were partly right. But we all need to agree, both sides use it way more than they need to. By the way if you look at it from a year to year perspective going back to 1919, the table shows that the Dems have used it more, but if you add up the total times of all years combined, the repubs have used it more. An interesting topic this was.

He is trying to collapse the economy so they can start socialism to the next level. Without facts it means nothing! The democrats had 2 thirds of the government for 7 years and all three for 2 years. You can not blame anyone but themselves. Why do you think Obama-care was passed? remember we have to vote it in to see what is in it! you LMC are the biggest propaganda and conspiracy theorist I have ever seen.

The upper chamber needs 60 votes to prevent a Republican filibuster on the bill, and with Brown's election, Democrats have lost their supermajority.

According to the Senate Historian's office, only 39 of them were cloture votes. Indeed, we found plenty of major bills that did not require 60 votes to start or end debate, including a bill meant to give more children health insurance and a bill to prevent mortgage foreclosures. Furthermore, the Senate frequently passes noncontroversial bills unanimously, so there are countless pieces of legislation and resolutions that don't require 60 votes.

   U.S. intelligence agencies secretly sponsored Chilean news outlets, like the influential newspaper El Mercurio, and supported “populist” uprisings of truckers and housewives. On the economic front, the CIA coordinated efforts to starve the Chilean government of funds and to drive unemployment higher.
   
   Worsening joblessness could then be spun by the CIA-financed news outlets as proof that Allende’s policies didn’t work and that the only choice for Chile was to scrap its social programs. When Allende compromised with the Right, that had the additional benefit of causing friction between him and some of his supporters who wanted even more radical change.
   
   As Chile became increasingly ungovernable, the stage was set for the violent overthrow of Allende, the installation of a rightist dictatorship, and the imposition of “free-market” economics that directed more wealth and power to Chile’s rich and their American corporate backers.
   
   Though the Allende case in Chile is perhaps the best known example of this intelligence strategy (because it was investigated by a Senate committee in the mid-1970s), the CIA has employed this approach frequently around the world. Sometimes the target government is removed without violence, although other times a bloody coup d’etat has been part of the mix.
   
   Home to Roost
   
   So, it is perhaps fitting that a comparable approach to politics would eventually come home to roost in the United States, even to the point that some of the propaganda funding comes from outside sources (think of Rev. Sun Myung Moon’s Washington Times and Australian media mogul Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp.)
   
   Obviously, given the wealth of the American elites, the relative proportion of the propaganda funding is derived more domestically in the United States than it would be in a place like Chile (or some other unfortunate Third World country that has gotten on Washington’s bad side).
   
   But the concept remains the same: Control as much as possible what the population gets to see and hear; create chaos for your opponent’s government, economically and politically; blame if for the mess; and establish in the minds of the voters that their only way out is to submit, that the pain will stop once your side is back in power."

             You do know that the American Left and the CIA have been creating revolutions and setting up countries for the fall since the early 1900s. You do... don't you? It is the same exact thing they are doing today in places like Libya, Seria, Yeman, and many other places.
             
             Their script and agenda is plain to see. They have gone into those countries to foment revolution and screw the people half way through, so that the people see their only hope as moving towards that ideology which is in oppostion to America.
             
             They have been doing it since after WWII. Thus the utter and complete failure of the Truman doctrine of containment. And thus the reason G.C.Marshall and the Leftists and Progressive traitors made so many bad calculations, and blatent errors in diplomacy and international manuvering, which allowed Communism to flourish under our seeming incompetence.
             
             And Chris... why are you not freaking out about Obama's illegal wars in those countries I have just named. WHY?

    You Gotta love these forums and the beauty  of the intentions in asking a question. Now the CIA runs the GOP. All I can  say to this is Grow up!  Of course we all know that the GOP are the only ones playing  football with political issues. Come on people grow some maturity. Obama and the Dems are the ultimate partison political party. I tend to be a fiscal conservative and a ,although I dislike the term , progressive voter . But this issue is just where polititions want us! Divided ! If the American voter , on both sides , ever grew together using common sense and  morality , ethics and virtue to determine leadership ...it would change politics forever!
