He got 3 sentences - 168 months, 60 months, and 36 months to be served concurrently.
Is it too much or not enough? Law says he must serve 85%. That's 11 years and 9 months. He doesn't have to report to prison until Feb.16, 2012.
Don't kid around like that. Now I'm really scared.
All politicians are corrupt. I really did not follow the entire situation so I honesty cannot answer that question appropriately. I am sure he will be up for parole in a few years, it normally happens that way.
Being both corrupt and stupid is really rubbing it in, though.
As it happens he absolutely has to serve 80% of the 14 years, so a good stretch.
Is this a fed case? Where I live you only have to do 50% of the time for nonviolent crimes.
His lack of respect for the law and the Constitution was horrid, so maybe justice was served via his sentencing.
I still think he was a scapegoat too, though. Someone profited politically even after he was exposed for his crime.
Fourteen years a little stiff to me. Gingrich only had to pay a fine of $450,000 for his violations, and he's a much bigger crook than Blagojevich.
Which brings us back to Greek One's point.
Blogojevich for president.
Hey, if Gingrich can run, so can Blaggy. ![]()
Seriously, you've got to be either really stupid, really arrogant, or both, to get taken down in Chicago. I mean, they bend way, way, way over backwards to accommodate "creative" politicking there...

Felt the daily xenophobia and saw the s__t coming and luckily managed to get out before things got really bad.
He did sell Obama's seat when he became president--so I think that might verge on of international interest.

There was some controversy during the presidential transition over just how much Obama knew. After Blagojevich’s arrest, several commentators noted that on Nov. 23, 2008 Obama senior advisor David Axelrod had appeared on Fox News and said of the president-elect: “I know he’s talked to the governor...

First of all, every President pardons people and many have made very questionable decisions with regard to pardons. However, Trump's most recent pardons are pretty interesting and, generally, unnecessary in my view.We can assume that Trump believes he's righting injustices, so what does he believes...

Jimmy Carter’s approval rating was 43% in his second May of his second term as president, a perfect match with Mr. Trump’s which is virtually identical at 43% :And that’s really not so bad for Mr. Trump who is currently within the tightening scope of two major criminal investigations and...

I'm continuing to digest parts of the Mueller report. In one section Mueller says that Trump's exercise of power is "corrupt". "The conclusion that Congress may apply the obstruction laws to the President’s corrupt exercise of the powers of office accords with our constitutional...

Here is line-by-line analysis of the released transcript, which shows a freewheeling Trump by buttering up his interlocutor, passing along unverified and dubious allegations about Biden and Democrats, and cajoling the Ukrainian leader into doing him a “favor.” Your...
