How do I put any romantic relationships out of my mind?
I'm 18 and I want to focus on myself, but I'm having a lot of trouble with it. How do I stip worrying about a relationship and focus on my life?
Keep trying. It may take about ten to twelve years to succeed, because by that time you would be through with a couple of romantic relationships that would prove to be otherwise! You will thus become mature enough to focus on life subsequently!
During our teenage years the pituitary gland is most active secreting hormones. In other words this is far more than "mind over matter" it's an evolutional phase into adulthood.
There is nothing wrong with teenagers dating or having a boyfriend/girlfriend. One's life is rarely happy when they take an "all or nothing" approach with anything. Balance is always the goal.
Lastly it unrealistic to believe one can only focus on their education/career for years at a time and then "suddenly" turn into a (social butterfly) who is comfortable with approaching strangers for dating and relationships.
Our youth years are for exploring and gaining wisdom as we discover ourselves, our wants, needs, and those things we dislike as well.
Life is a personal journey and everyone is entitled to live as they see fit. However being age 25 or 30 and having the dating/social comfort level of a teenager generally causes one to feel even more insecure and hesitant. Having experience builds confidence.
Our teenage years are "practice years" where we gain valuable life experience especially when it comes to establishing social/dating skills. In the U.S. most teens date, go dances/proms, movies, concerts, and various other outings. In fact many of us fondly look back on our "first love" experiences because we didn't have to contend with all of the adult all of the adult responsibilities like working for a demanding boss, paying the rent/mortgage, car note, utilities, or having children to raise.
Our high school and college years on campus will be the only period in our lives where we have time to focus only on school and our significant others. No one gets to go back in time to make up for experiences they never had.

Have your ever "recycled" your romantic relationships?Recycling means - you have dated him/her before, split up, then met up and started dating again. Why, why not and what do you think about "recycling"?

There are so many kinds of "relationships" these days. What defines a romantic relationship? How do you know when you are dating? What kind of relationship are you currently in or looking for?
