Is it wrong to have a cyber affair if the person is on the other side of the planet (send photos)ect
I think you answered your own question in calling it an affair. If married, then yes having an affair outside of your marriage is wrong. But, if it not love/sexual in nature (dirty pics and IM sex) then it could be seen as a cyber friendship. Being friends on Facebook (as long as not cyber-sexual) is not the same thing as having an affair.
I like your view point and I thank you for your answer
just a note;even in a friendly manner if relationship is hidden from spouse than it is cheating.
Yes, I totally agree. I guess part of the problem is that people tend to live two lives. One in person and one online. The two don't always mix. People say and do things online that they would never do offline.
Yes. An affair suggests that a disapproved marital or relationship act will occur without the other party knowing (or at least you are trying to keep the other party in the dark about an act that would hurt them). Honesty and trust are the most important qualities in a relationship, even more so than love in my humble opinion. If one wishes to have a cyber relationship while currently in a relationship then then should tell their partner prior to engaging in the act. This way your partner can make a decision on if they want to stay in the relationship while you have your cyber relationship or leave. A lot of people think that so long as certain acts do not happen that the other party should not get upset. However, it is the lies and betrayal that hurts the most. Like the old saying goes, "If you have to ask if something is wrong it probably is."
Yes, it is an emotional affair and adultery in spirit if not in body.
Whenever the word "affair" is used it clearly means there is "betrayal".
The real question is: Are you doing/saying anything that you wouldn't do or say if your mate were sitting right next to you and could see or hear it? Distance is not the determining factor of whether it's right or wrong.
An affair usually means something done in "secret".
The first lie a cheater tells is to him/herself. It's the lie of justification.
"We're just (friends)."
"Just because I'm married doesn't mean I can't have (friends)."
"I don't know all of his/her friends."
"Sexting is not cheating"
"Flirting is not cheating."
"Having phone sex, chat room sex, and webcam sex isn't {really} cheating."
If you want to do something (bad enough) you will find a way to make it "okay" to do or "justify" in your mind. In your example a year later this person happens to be coming to your area and you arrange to have lunch. "Just because I'm married doesn't mean I can't go out to lunch with a (friend)." Naturally "one thing leads to another" and after you get caught you say::
"We never meant for this happen...."
It is wrong to have an affair of any kind for any reason, if someone can have;Emotional/physical affair then the main relationship is already dead and should be put to rest.I think most human beings would rather have someone respect them enough to leave them, rather than decieve them.

Should I tell my friend her husband is having an affair? My other friends say she won't believe me, and I'll only end up looking like the bad girl! But if it was me, I'd want to know.

Why do you think people cheat on their significant other?

Having a husband or boyfriend who cheated is a big hit to your self esteem. You begin to doubt your marriage and your ability to make your husband happy or to be enough. And there are tons of old stereotypes which imply that if a man cheats, it’s because his wife doesn’t understand him, he’s...

I felt that it was best because if I felt that guilty it was better to open up to him..
