What are some of the BENEFITS of a long distance relationship?
I do think there are benefits of a long distance relationship. My husband and I were long distance 6 years before we married and it gave me a chance to assert my own independence, really work on my career and have a lot of fun with my friends as well as spend all my free time away from him doing things I loved liked walking across Boston with my sister and hanging out in the esplanade, just being young and free. It also serves as a good test of love, as if you can survive a long distance long-term relationship, you are truly complimentary. As well, when you do see each other, it makes it ever more special and anticipated.
