Hello HubPages! To all my fellow LGBT HubPages users: What are some experiences you've had with your identity that you'd like to share? Or, do you have any guidance for other LGBT users? Please discuss! c:

The one thing that I have noticed about gay men in general, is that they seem to expect gay men to act a certain way. The strangest one I have ever heard was from a guy who was insulted, and angry because no gay men talked to him during a gay social gathering. He couldn't figure out why gay men didn't like him. Yet every time I saw him at a gathering, he was always sitting by himself sulking.

I told him, all you need to do is adjust your way of thinking. If nobody is talking to you, find someone and talk to them. Don't be pushy, just make yourself available. Be friendly to people, and people will be friendly to you. he tried it, and was surprised when it worked.

He was an older guy, but he was what I call "Newly Gay." former married guy who came out. He was under the same impression that most straight guys have. Just because I'm gay every gay guy will want to know me, and have sex with me. And, sex is all that being gay is about. And, if you do not come out of the closet, you can't call yourself a gay man. As it somehow brings the gay community down.

I'm all about being myself. I don't care if people know I'm gay, but, I'm also not going to shout it from the roof tops. I post to the gay forums, and I have a couple gay themed hubs. I find that being truthful can be a double edged sword, sometimes even worse than lying. But, getting over what people think of you, and how you see yourself in the world, can open your eyes to things you might not have known about. The gay community has so many different sub cultures, each day seems to be a new discovery.

With the help of the internet, and sites like hubpages. Guys like me can give some info on what gay men are really thinking, and what our lives might be like.  It's not all about sex. And, for those who our wondering. There is no gay agenda, and we are not trying to recruit!! Otherwise I would have got my free flatscreen TV by now!!! Just kidding.
