Always celebrate your anniversary! This is a time to honor the love that you share with your partner. It is a time to commemorate the hills and valleys that you have conquered in your married life. It confirms your commitment to your spouse and allows a glimpse into the future and a look back into the past, especially to your wedding day.
To be romantic it really depends on your lover. What do they like? Some think flowers are, while others are allergic. What mostly gets everyone is memories. Remembering them together and making a new one. Maybe going back to a place you both loved and talking about it. If they love poetry, you could get a book of poetry and on the inside cover write one of your own.
I agree with Phoebe. Take your loved one back to the place where you first met, or where you had your first date, first kiss, or place where you were married. There is nothing more romantic than sparking memories you have shared and remembering the feelings you once felt at that special time in your life.
