Why do people ask questions, and when they are told the truth which is not what they want to...
hear, they vote down on your response? They do this especially when it comes to relationship questions.
Because truth hurts and they can't handle it. In reality they just want to hear what they want to hear and nothing else. Low self esteem goes miles and miles for some.
They just want you to give them what they want. This is why I avoid certain types of questions altogether. If I am going to write anything about relationships,. then it will be purely funny.
vipconsultant I am NoT mad at you.......so sad but also so true. COuld you imagine how one would improve it they could only handle the truth (ok at least some truth). they would rather live as well as believe a lie. Lies Lies Lies are no surprise, and hold so much disguise yet you'll jump, skip and smile when told a lie....go figure!
Vonda G. Nelson
Many people don't ask questions to get the truth, they ask to confirm their personal take on the situation, no matter how morally screwed-up it may be. I sure hope down rates on the questions don't have an effect on overall Hubscore, especially since they're not consistent down rates, because I for one am horrible about sugar-coating things and will give the answer that the question is really begging for.
Because they think that'll make the ideas go away. In short, they don't get it. Ideas are more like light energy than an object to be moved.
They want to hear what they want to hear. Of all the answers, they pick the one(s) closest to what they wanted to hear.
BTW, general rule: Never ask a question that you may not like (accept) the answer to. (Applies to all these sob, sniffle relationship questions, in particular.)
"... you want the truth? you can't handle the truth."
Jack Nicholson, to Tom Cruise, in "A Few Good Men."
i dont know if you find out let me know i have been wondering the same thing to me its like if you cant handle a differnt opion than dont ask!!!
It's like the movie "A Few Good Men" - the famous line:
YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!

If you had to speak exactly what was on your mind for one day. How many friends would you have left?

If your friends were willing to reveal their true thoughts about you, would you be OK with that? For example, could you handle hearing that you are arrogant and self-serving, even though you think you are tolerant and open-minded? (Just one example among many.) Mind you, these are...

Why do people share their secrets?I just read an article about the importance of keeping secrets that have been divulged to us by their owners. It made wonder why people feel the need to share their secrets. Why would you share your secrets and what makes them secret?

Profits are up while while the average American makes less money than they were making in 1972. Do I want a handout? no. This just proves how little the workforce or the greatest asset of any company actually matters.http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/24/busin … 4econ.html...

Why do people ask questions on Hubpages that they could ask Mr. Google?I understand the concept of building the Hubpage community and dipping into the vast knowledge contained therein, but if you are seeking a factual answer to a question, perhaps Google might be a good place to look too. Or...
