   I would go for something not to personal for a new boyfriend - we all know men can be a funny creatures in fresh relationships (as can women . But still something that will give him the feel you know him.
   
   I would go for a cheaper gadget - if he is a gadget freak - headphones for his mp3 player or something.
   
   If he is a gamer - a game for his console (might need some research what kind of games he likes)
   
   If he is a sports kind of a men - weights, sport memorabilia
   
   Music kind of a guy - could go oldschool and buy him a physical CD, or even a LP

   a handmade card counts a lot. in a new relationship its possible you don't know much about his likes and dislikes so go with the universal gifts for guys... wrist watch, wallet, jackets and all. a guy will always love it.

   I would buy something for his car, or cologne, or a wallet. Tickets to a sporting event that interests him or movie tickets would be good. Don't get too personal.

   Hi amymarie_5 nice question.
   
   Now, if you was my new girlfriend, & I'm your guy, I would obviously expect something for this time of year, just as I would expect to buy you a gift or two, its nice & its thoughtful but, I would not want you to overspend, & seem too keen as of yet, as this keenness with gifts now & then will be better after many months of dating, so, I would suggest something useful, & romantic, that you can both share & get involved in together, to bond your relationship even further, & I would love the gift from you to be, a DVD or two, of my favourite movie/film subjects, that we could both watch together, & as an added surprise, a beautiful bunch of flowers.
   
   Just my thoughts for a new relationship gift idea have a nice Christmas.

   Alright, listen up girly, relationship is all about power play, the question here is, would he also buy you a present?  (Considering you guys just started dating)  You want it to be even play  (just like you don't want a situation where you say I love you and he didn't say it back)  If he is not getting you a present, don't get him anything either!!!
