I suppose it depends on what one considers romantic. For instance a lot of men loved Teddy Pendergrass' "Close the Door", "Turn Off The Lights", along with "Come On and Go With Me". However they may not care for songs that are about men hurting women and then (begging for forgiveness) or songs dealing with a man "rescuing" a woman. Other songs that amount to a man having (no self-esteem) offering to "do anything" to get a woman to be with him also lack appeal for many reasons. In fact many women are turned off by guys who come off desparate or needy in "real life".
A large percentage of women have been implanted with fairytales and happily ever after endings in their subconcious from the time they were little girls dressing up like a princess, feeding dolls, changing baby doll diapers, pushing strollers, arranging furniture in Barbie & Ken's playhouse, baking cakes and pies in their Easy-Bake ovens...etc Men on the other hand were given toy guns, remote control cars, boats, and planes. They were pretending to be firemen, cops, construction workers, soldiers, and doctors.
(Not many little boys grew up pretending to be fathers or husbands). Therefore the notion of "falling in love", getting married, and having a family has not been a life long dream for them. Most women have been dreaming about Mr. Right since they were children. Men on the other hand often discover sex before they discover love. In fact someone once said that "Women give sex in order to get love and men give love in order to get sex." Eventually everyone matures. However a lot of the gender differences are ingrained in us during our "formative years".
Much of the frustration that takes place in relationships comes from both sexes expecting the other to think, behave, and see life from their point of view. Gender differences are like the 4 seasons. You don't change the seasons, you learn to work with the seasons! Acknowleding and acceptng there are gender differences is the first step to having realistic expectations in relationships. What is romantic to a woman may not be seen as romantic to a man. That's just life.

I like romantic songs.. Movie not too well.... Women loved to be cared for an appreciated.. To always wish they could find the perfect man of their dreams.. So I guess romantic songs and movies gives them inner joy, a longing heart, makes them feel special and hope to one they find that perfect one.. It makes their heart beat faster and gives their searching heart a reason to smile
