Is there a term of endearment that you hate?
I loathe being called "doll," or "queen." Does anything make you cringe?
Not really, but I hate it when those in customer service call me sweetie, honey, hun, etc , etc.
ReneeDC, I HATE that as well. And now that I'm older, iiii yiii yiii! I'm "Sweetie" to everyone from clerk at the grocery store to the hairdresser cutting my hair. My friends don't mind, but I find it demeaning and I wish they'd stop!
Exactly Billie. I was at a restaurant with my mom the other day and the server kept calling her hon. My mom was getting annoyed and her tip showed it. :-(
Cuddle bug, chipmunk, angel puss, baby face, baby doll, doll, bird, blossom, bunny, buttercup, butter face, chick, cup cake, dish, gum drop, little dove, lemon drop, magic princess, main squeeze, peaches, pet, poopsy, snooky, sugar, tootsie, twinkies, etc.
Wow,that's a serious list! lol I've never been called most of these.
I've heard all of them... Unfortunately. But I get them back eventually. My mother-in-law calls me lady-bug and chipmunk...
what if your honey bunny called you baby that's okay right-but coming from anyone else i think it's rude.
In general, I like terms of endearment, but I prefer they have a uniqueness about them. Mostly, I just get called by my name. However, (although I've never been called this), the term "babe" makes me cringe when I hear others use it. I guess, to me, "babe" sounds so lame and generic, sort of like the beginners term for young lovers.
However, I had a boyfriend who often called me baby girl. He was a Frenchman, and given his heavy accent, it sounded like he was saying "baby gill" - as in the breathing organ of fish. I liked it because It was flattering since I was 13 years older than him and it was also unique in that his pronunciation was funny and sweet. Anyway, I went off on a tangent, but I wanted to share a pleasant memory.
Being I have a deep voice... when I answer the phone sometimes to telemarketers the call me " sir "...it used to bother me...but now I have fun and play head games with them... I do loath when someone calls me honey, or sweetie..and talks to me like I was a baby...
I don't like being called "woman",however it's cute coming from certain people. I think sweetie is condescending as well. The term "babe" had to grow on me, I didn't like it at first.
Undoubtedly it's "my old lady."
This one isn't a term of endearment, but more like a "goodbye" and it's "be safe." I can't count the number of times men have said that to me in place of "I love you" to find out I'd been dumped. ;-)
I honestly CANNOT handle when people call each other "boo." No matter who says it to who, family member to family member, owner to pet, significant other to significant other, it just makes me cringe. I can't explain it. The only Boo that's acceptable is the tiny girl from Monster's Inc. All other ways that "boo" is used as a term of endearment are like nails on a chalkboard. If anyone calls me "boo," I make this face:
I hate to hear Boo, and old lady , or pretty women,woman,sexy..I have a hard time believing that..
Now my boyfriend(he is in Afghanistan-Soldier in Army ) does love to call me: my angel or angel eyes,Capt Linda..my darling wife...honnie bunnie, my queen, the love of my life...etc..
I usualy like terms of endearmeant, that is until I started working for my current boos six months ago. He calls me (and his other assistant) "my love", "baby", "my angels", and more, they make skin crawl and I am seeking new employment as we speek!
I have had many lady friends call me by different terms of endearments, I honestly can not think of a single one that bothered me, but maybe its a guy thing, call me anything you like as long as you call me
@Ps32love, I meant to say now I NEVER will

Bugs the stuffins outta me. You hear ,"Okay...I'll call you tomorrow." Tomorrow comes, no call. You think, duh? So what's the deal? Then there's the ever-ending "I'll contact you as soon as I can get away...." Then NO CONTACTO. Especially when somebody does it...

When someone called me a dork today, I did a search on what the term means. I was surprised at the results here: derogatory. A dull, slow-witted, or socially inept person. vulgar. The pen*s.Someone who has odd interests, and is often silly at times. A dork is also someone who can be themselves and...

People don't hate christian, they hate the people that say they are christian. In other words you can not look upon christ and hate him, the true christian have christ in him, therefore they can not be hated. The true christian do not hate people, only the christion that say they are christian hate...
