    Why do men cheat?

There are a whole lot of cliche answers I can offer such as
    1.Men are dogs
2.Women are from Venus and Men are from Mars
    3. A man looks for every woman to fulfill his one want and need and a woman is looking for one man to fulfill her every want and need.
    4. Women advertise and we just can't help ourselves.

The truth is that all of these answers are true. And the truth is there is no one real answer. Men are dogs. If you think of a dog as a loyal companion then you are correct in assuming he will always come home. But a dog is a simple creature looking for attention and affection anywhere he can find it. The loyalty of your dog is securing of a warm home and good food to eat. Men are much the same way looking for attention and affection. They will feel that if you won't give it to them then they will find it elsewhere. What they fail to understand is that lack of attention is a two way street and at times women forget it as well.

Men aren't from Mars but men and women are built completely different and wired completely different. Men general like things to be clear cut to understand a simple yes or no answer. Is this a good thing or bad thing. If they can group things in that manner they are very content. Women on the other hand see things in a whole variation of goods and bads. There is no simple yes or no. "Yes if this and this and that aspect is true. But, if this and that is false then it negates the first...."  A man's mind would explode if he tried to think like that. It actually hurts and causes anger when things can't be simple. Don't get me wrong men are intelligent. I mean that same man can explain from being to end how an internal combustion engine works. After he has done this a woman will look at him in disgust for wasting her time.

Opposite sexes have different wants and needs. I have heard this goes back to when we were cave men and that we had to propagate the species. Its a bunch hog wash as far as im concerned. I was never a caveman. Honestly there is that tendency because of our personality to want to conquer all women.  If a relationship is built on alone sex only a man will completely lose interest soon after he has had sex a few times with a woman. Women on the other hand see things in a more permanent manner.  They want know if he can support her and other thing in that line.

Men a visual creatures and women know that and clothing makers know it. ((SORRY I RAN OUT OF SPACE))

Men cheat for the same reason women cheat. Maybe it's depression, weakness or spite, but they are human failings indicative of larger problems. Statistically, men might do it more than women, however the problem lies with the individual, and their unique experiences that led them to the act in question.

The definition of cheating is (breaking the rules).
Both men and women cheat for the same reasons! Anyone who has ever seen an episode of the TV shows "Cheaters" or "The Maury Povich Show" AKA (You are NOT the father!) can attest to that.
Even lesbians cheat on one another! Cheating is not gender specific.
The goal of any cheater is to hold onto all that is "good" in their primary relationship while addressing their other "needs" on the side.
The cheater has no interest in going through a breakup or messy divorce! She or he is not looking to replace one relationship with another one. They simply want to fill the void of whatever is missing from their primary relationship.
For example lets say a man is married and is sexually frustrated with his wife. Odds are if he is incline to cheat he will use the following logic. My wife is unwilling to have sex as much or in the way that I want it so my options are.
    1. File for divorce, move into a studio apartment, pay her alimony, child support, and become a weekend dad.
    2. Find someone on the side who is more sexually compatible.
    * In the event that he does get caught then he may be (forced) to go through option #1. However if he does not get caught he will have (everything) he feels he needs to be happy between what his wife offers and what the mistress offers him.
No cheater expects to get caught. Therefore it's worth the risk in his mind. Cheaters are gamblers and thrill seekers.

Men cheat because they do not understand about the true purpose of humanity.

I think if one is busy and using his intellect everyday to prosper, he can't do such animalistic behavior.

Most of the low mentality men do that.

Does this also explain why (women) cheat? I'm amazed at how often people only inquire about the motivations of men in this regard knowing women are cheating and having babies claiming they belong to husbands. Both genders cheat for the same reasons
