It's best to forgive others those of whom who have wronged us. It is for our good, physically and mentally. Thank you, Pamela, for writing such a magnificent article on forgiveness, which will help all readers.

Pamela, to forgive is taking a higher moral ground and thinking beyond petty squabbles. Yes, forgiving is hard, and the flush of anger, revenge and the anguish of betrayal that comes in the way makes forgiving truly difficult. But it is the only way to guarantee peace of mind and to move ahead.

However, a word of caution - forgive but never forget what had happened. It is a cruel world out there, and it is better to be on the guard always.

Thanks for sharing this insightful article Pamela. Thanks, Chitrangada for sharing Pamela's article.

Chitrangada, Thank you for posting my article. I agree most of us have faced betrayal, and for our own emotional health we should forgive. I appreciate your comments.

I think you stated it very well, Rosina. We should forgive, not for the sake of the who wronged us, but for our own sake. Thank you for commenting.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments, Ravi. I agree! We can't forget. I believe the hardest lessons we learn in life happen from something painful, and iris a cruel world. Thank you for adding that warning.

Great Article on how to forgive.

I honestly fall short on this one and really need to try forgiveness.

Like you say...it's so one can have peace himself.

    Very good points listed.

    Chitrangada,

I may forgive, but I don't have the ability to forget.

I think they are two different things.

I agree with your views, Readmikenow.
It’s difficult to forget, the wrongs done to you by others. It’s always at the back of your mind, even if you move on, by forgiving.
      Thank you for your comments.
