Pamela, this was a very helpful and good article about how to prevent head concussions. It's good to know that not only sportspeople should be careful but also ordinary people and children may fall off bikes or at home, having head concussions. I am glad you warned about it through your important article, creating an awareness.

Thank you, Chitrangada for sharing Pamela's post.

Changes in pro sports have happened far too slowly, sad to say, but at least now the powers who make the rules are recognizing that their sports are dangerous and can cause brain injuries.  Money speaks, and lawsuits in recent years have forced changes.  Important article, Pamela, and as always, perfectly written.

Thank you for posting my article Chitrangada. I appreciates your comments also.

I could not agree with you more, Bill. It is a shame that it takes lawsuits to make a positive change that will certainly save a better quality of life for many people, I appreciate all of your thoughtful comments.

Rosina, I am sorry I am so slow to comment. I always appreciate your comments. I had a cervical fusion 2 weeks ago and this recovery has been very tough. I am spending too much time doing nothing. I had written most of this article before the surgery. Your comments are always very thoughtful and I am happy to receive them any time.

This is an excellent and informative article, Pamela. Concussion protocols are now being quite strictly policed in football (Rugby League) in this country now at least. It has been a long time coming but they finally realise how serious it can be, especially if anyone has suffered it more than once. Thank you for sharing, Chitrangada.

    Pamela
I'm glad to see you posting articles.   I hope this means you are on your way to a great recovery.

Head injuries in football have become quite common. Finally they are taking it seriously.

As for seatbelts...we didn't use to do those, but now we do.  Finally a requirement in vehicle's.

Thank you so much for your comments Brenda. I am recovering but slowly.

I am glad they are taking hed injuries seriously now in sports. I remember when we didn't have seat belts, but sure glad we have them now.

Pamela, I wish you a speedy recovery. What is a cervical fusion and what facilitates the procedure?

Pamela, an amazing, informative article (as we have all come to expect from you). TBI is also a problem for those in the military. One thing I seem to recall hearing years ago (and I wonder if you could look into this) is the possible connection between concussion and future dementia. I wish you a full and speedy recovery and pray you are soon free of your pain. My love to my, dear friend.
