Am I only Mom, wife and 39 year old fool that loves this silly show?

It's on right now, but, I'm not watching it. But I can hear it. I usually wait until they get down to the final 12. Last year was a huge let down, the only thing good about it was Crystal Bowersox. And, with Simon no longer being on the show, I'm not really that interested yet.

        Loved Crystal.

However, I have to disagree with you - I think the beginnings of this show with the audition are amazing.  Some people are too much!! tongue

Most watch for the train wrecks like William Hung (Even though he made millions off from it) That and people like Keith, who sang Like a virgin, and the girl who sang when I fall in love while babies yawned, and the seasons changed. Or the crying girl who about wet her pants every time she saw Sanjaya. Used to watch every minute of every season, just not that into it at the moment. I never watched the auditions last year either, just the top 12.

So funny because I didn't even watch the full top 12 last year... I'm the opposite now!

Kristen, last season was the first I did not bother watching. It was just to hard for me to get into.

@KristenGrace,,,,I like the beginnings, its hilarious. I normally like it up until America starts to vote. I get concerned that people keep them in, but not for talent @ Julie2, last season wasnt one of the best. Hopefully the new judges will help. I actually like Steven Tyler. He is funny!

Votes are what allowed people like Sanjaya and Jason Castro get into the top 12, even though they both sucked rocks! I think they should have an adult filter in the voting to keep the teenage panty crowd from keeping their poster boys at the top. If I had to listen to either of them any longer, I think my head would explode.

"teenage panty crowd" lol sooooo true. I could not have said it better myself. I could not stand to see Sanjaya anymore, my husband and I would just laugh and say "AGAIN?, oh man..."

I'm a mom, wife and am also 39 years old and am not ashamed to say I love American Idol!  Actually I fully expected the show to go downhill in popularity without Simon but I've been pleasantly pleased - Jennifer is great and Steven Tyler CRACKS ME UP!  He will make the show great, I feel.

Why is this thread under Gender & Relationships??

I'm another mom, wife and 39 year old (we're everywhere!!)

I stopped watching American Idol for a couple of seasons because it was getting old...but now with Jennifer L and Steven on, I think the show is soooo much better!  I'm really enjoying it again!

I just love the stories..and when those kids nail a song it brings tears to my eyes!  LOL...I'm a sap!

There is no way that some of those auditions are for real. I think that there is a little bit of dishonesty with actual auditions. So i dont watch.

I went on FB and checked to see if Jovany Barreto and Chris Medina had FB pages and they do.

I clicked like on Jovany's page and posted a comment. He actaully responded right away too. Very sweet guy. He is the cutie that sang in Spanish last week for the audition and made Jennifer melt. He was also the one that lifted his shirt and Randy and Steven did the same. If you want to check out his page here is his link http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/page … 638?v=wall

I also have Chris Medina's information as well. He was the one that was supposed to get married to his fiance and had to cancel when she had an accident. Such a beautiful man for staying with her. Here is his link

lol  I like the guy with Aspergers, the 5 kids with their mothers, and (unfortunately, I think) the 4 that kicked out the 5th kid.  Oh, and the entire group that took in the 5th kid that was kicked out.  Any one of these 15, as a winner, would be great!  Course, I only know of the guy with Aspergers, one of the group that kicked out the kid, and the kid, getting through tonight.  (I saw the last end when the judges were telling the groups if they made it or not)

I'm pretty much addicted.  I thought I wouldn't like the new judges, but I think they are crazy good.  I love how sweet Jen is, she comes across as more real than Paula?  I also love how Steven Tyler will totally just start singing with the contestants when he's really into it.  He totally cracks me up!!!

Yup. Agree.  Especially with your point about Paula and Jennifer... Jennifer gives off a great vibe.
