If a pretty lady or handsome guy walk up to you publicly in the midst of your friends and say:

"Hi, i was just looking at you from afar, and i can't control myself but to tell you how handsome you are"

How would you feel and what would you do?

I usually just tell them to "take a number and get in line"

I was at the supermarket when somebody told me that I am beautiful. I just smiled and I don't know how to react, whether to say thank you like that.

I normally give them the phone number to the local eye doctor!

As a female, it can be both flattering and embarrassing. If I'm with close friends then it's kinda flattering because my friends and I will joke about it afterwards. But if I'm with people I hardly know I might be a little embarrassed.

You might do something to show them you are a real person instead of an image, sounds like that person is centered on "looks" and not substance , Id feel better if they said  "hey , I like your personality".  Even if I was really  that good looking !

I would be much more weirded out if a stranger came up to me and said "I like your personality."

There's nothing wrong with people being spontaneous and honest.

Don't you mean being hormonal and shallow  and not spontanious and honest ?

"Hormonal" actions are a form of pure honesty, and if these human traits offend you, then I am not sure how to respond. Some people just prefer their interactions to be scripted and dull, i guess.

"Hormonal" and "shallow" are your words, not mine, and I'm sorry that you judge people that way.

I would much rather have a conversation with someone bold and confident enough to say something like that then someone so rigidly confined to the "rules" of life.

I've had that happen (yeah, hard to believe, I know).

My wife was a bit taken aback and I couldn't help a bit of a laugh.
