    Was God invented or revealed?

It is often said that we cannot prove the existence of God.  Then how did religions get started?  Was God (pick any version) invented?  When and by whom?  Or was God revealed (when and to whom)?

The God created your mind in order for you to know Him and ADAM & EVE were the first persons who revealed the fact about His existence.

It depends on the point of view. If you look in history books you will find out that Moses was called the son of the Pharao´s daughter and that he married the daughter of a high rank priest.

If you look in the bible for the family tree of Jesus human parents, then Joseph was not just carpenter, but the descendant of the royal family of Israel.

So there is an indication that the leading class used religion as additional instrument of control. And even if you look at Buddhism you will see that also Buddha (Siddhartha Gautama) was a member of a royal family.

Also with view to romans and greeks most deities and half gods represented royals. So power and religion to control.

But with view to the creation story in Germany occured the belief in the 1920´s that with angels Aliens from space were meant and with view to todays science we may assume that the creation involved bio technology and could be true.

If you look close in the bible, you will see that mankind at the end has to deliver gold, silver, copper and many other metals and ressources to God. So colonial tribute.

BTW Eve wasn´t the first woman. The hebrew texts teach that Adam and Lilith were created as equal, but Lilith did not wanted to serve Adam. When Adam was alone then God created from the rib (stemcells) of Adam then Eve.

maybe back then a physical person may/ not have exsisted. as of today, he is most def invented. people are looking for someone to watch over them, justify issues, and give reasons for things, and they think their god does that.

I believe the concept of religion goes all the way back to the beginning of the human species. When you're a primitive tribe watching seemingly magical events happening around you (rain, sunrise, earthquakes etc.) you find what ever explanation you can, especially if that explanation offers a solution. For example, if you believe there is an angry man in the sky, then you can make that angry man happy by sacrificing something to him. When he is happy he will make it rain and your plants will grow. It gives us a sense of control in a world where we have very little, and gives the Earth a sense of logic over chaos. If we believe we can predict what will happen, we aren't as frightened by it.

There are lots of great explanations previous cultures came up with to explain Earth's natural occurrences. Even today, despite how many scientific answers we have, there are still plenty of things we're trying to figure out, which is why I think religion is still popular. Until science can answer everything, religion will persist. Or, as long as science is complicated, religion will exist because it is easier. Religion as it is today, however, is a mishmash of all the religions that came before it, all the way back to the tribal beliefs of rain gods.
