What do you think the word Jihad means?

We have all heard the word Jihad being mentioned in the media and films.  But do you really know what it means.

Jihad for self progress should be waged all the time.
Jihad on the battlefront cannot be initiated unless attacked.
Jihad of initialisation can only be done with the permission of the Imam of the age - Imam Mehdi Als.

It usually means a struggle for improvement either externally or internally.

It's often a spiritual struggle that is internal and personal. It is an effort on an individual level to become a better follower of Mohammad which is the duty of anyone practicing Islam.

The difficulty lies in the way improvements may be interpreted and carried out.

In Arabic, the word jihad translates as a noun meaning "struggle".

In other words, jihad is the struggle against, or resistance to, something for the sake of a goal.

Actually, jihad is an internal struggle to maintain the true faith in 'God',which is the opposite of all types of religious faiths in this world.
Koran is a Spiritual book, which is NOT written to start a new religion like Islam,
but to fight against many traditional superstitions rooted in all religions in this world.

The word jihad means struggle.  Everyone has jihad in their lives. If they are a good person they may struggle internally to stay that way, avoid corruption and temptation.

Jihad does NOT mean holy war or even war. Only persons that distort the meaning of the word feel that is what it means. And in that case those people have serious internal Jihad problems.

I've heard the translation several times means Struggle in Arabic.
Most believe it's personal struggles, terrorists believe in another kind of struggle.
