Maybe in your area, but there are no statistics proving this is the case as a whole in the United States.

This seems to be a rather lengthy answer. Hope nobody "hates" me for this.

Islam is an approach to God. Why should anybody hate another's genuine approach to God? Nobody hates Islam; nobody would hate another's path as long as it remains a genuine path to God.

Hatred is directly born from misunderstanding and sincerity. Only a sincere person can hate someone. But indirect hatred can take birth as a defensive stance.

Hatred derives hatred and love derives love. If somebody hates me, either I did something hateful or the person hating me is insane. If the whole world hates me, there is no doubt I did something hateful because the whole world cannot be insane.

First, we need to introspect. Religion cannot be a path to God if it begets or relates to hatred. A true path to God can convert hatred into love by generating love as a defense against hatred. Christianity in practice and Islam in theory are examples.

The world will be a better place if we realize that God is within us, and God hates hatred and loves love. Let us follow our own God who remains within our own heart enabling every heart beat.

You call HIM by any name, HE's the one who rules. Everybody knows that there can't be two or more Ultimate powers. Name does not differentiate HIS identity. HE's one with more names. Any path traced would lead to HIM.

Really?Where I go,the reverse is true.In my home country,Kenya.Christianity has grown form 33% to 82% in less than 40 years while Islam has grown from 6% to 10% in the same period. Now both are declining. To Atheism.
Mormonism, not Islam,is the fastest growing religion in the United States.
And as far as I know, most muslims in California,do not follow their faith i.e they are cultural, not practising muslims so rather,if Islam is gaining converts here,it is also losing plenty of those who come here

it might sound silly but i think those people feel that because of how strong the beliefs are of islamic followers, that it must be the true religion. obviously christianity is flawed greatly and these people want to be "on the winning team".

Yes, there are a lot of "teams." We need to learn from every team but move alone. Why bother who joins which team?
Life is not a teams game; it has to be fought and won singly.

Some through choice and some through coercion and manipulation.

People hunger for spiritual answers, the more science and the secular world fall apart. Science cannot answer the big questions, for it is expert only in the temporary realm of physical reality.

Not everyone hates Islam. Such hate is the product of ego and American propaganda. The real culprits behind 9/11 wear pinstriped suits and ride in chauffeured limousines. They don't care who they hurt, because their god Mammon is more important than human lives (except their own). They follow ego, the master of this world, and blame their crimes on others, including Muslims.

But people are also converting to Christianity. One hate-filled Muslim said he'd kill a Christian TV reporter, but when he received only love in response, he lost his hatred and eventually accepted Christ as his personal savior.

So, conversion happens in all directions. Ultimately, it will be toward Christ, because he was the son of God returned to Earth. All other enlightened ones were new-borns of the spirit -- Gautama Siddartha, Mohammed, Lao Tsu and others. Yehoshua of Nazareth remains the greater teacher, reincarnated fully Enlightened.

Christianity has 2200 million followers. Islam has 1600 million. Christianity is still growing around the world faster than Islam.
