   Sin was never cast out of the world with the flood.  Noah and his family were sinners before and after the flood.  Creation also was still fallen.  Only the shedding of innocent blood (Jesus) can take away sin.

      Beautiful, ER. The "wickedness" of Genesis 6 was that of a very specific problem -- the "daughters of men" (a species which went extinct at the Flood date -- 27,970 BC).

   As long as there is a man on earth there has been and will continue to be "sin" in one form or another.

      Yes "wickedness" would be considered a sin. It's definitely not an example "Love thy neighbor as thy self."

   Sin is a transgression against Cosmic Law. It is an impediment or obstacle standing in the way of Truth or Light. If you touch a high tension electrical wire, it will shock you, whether you are aware or not. Same with going against nature's natural laws, you will feel pain.
   
   God has made this as part of the plan and it was there from the beginning to remind us of our True Nature, which is made in the image of God.
   
   One of the Laws of Cosmic Forces is that of Diversity or Polarity. Here good and evil work side by side. Without the shadow there will be no perception of Light; without Winter there will be no Summer. We can only measure Love by the hate that exists; without the mountains, there will be no valley and for every positive, there is a negative pole. Need I continue?
   
   Adversity helps us as we struggle with ignorance (sin), and we learn gradually to remove the boulder (sin), standing in the way of Truth or Light. Sin is the result of a life lived in ugliness and without the broadness of a heart which lives in love, beauty, compassion, forgiveness and Light. Still, it is as necessary as the numerous falls of the baby before it finally learns how to walk.

      Yes Elect Lady. Wickedness is wrong-doing; sin is wrong doing. A man beating his wife with bad intent is wickedness. It is also sin. They both affect our conscience in such a way that in prayer we do not feel whole.

      Beautiful answer, as always. But the Wickedness of Genesis 6 was not ordinary sin. God's purpose was jeopardized by a species targeted by the Flood. The future of civilization was at stake.

   What an interesting question. As the consensus does say 'sin' is always and prevalent. Yet, I too wonder how sin was introduced after the flood with such a close knit family. I do not remember any story like Cain and Able or Adam and Eve for introducing 'sin.' I am interested.

      Well, Adam and Eve were before Noah time. As to my understanding thats where sin started. with her eating the forbidden fruit

      I agree. However, I am not familiar when sin is introduced after Noah. Or, Did it simply exist and transition with Noah's family therefore it is a given? What specific story or event like Adam & Eve and Cain & Able after Noah introduced sin,

      Indeed some create classifications. Big sin, small sin ...  Some say that there is no such thing as negligible disobedience. If we fail in the small things, we will eventually fail when it matters also. Better to avoid sin altogether

   According to the yin/yang we can't have good without having bad, & we can't have in unless we also have out (objects/space light/dark etc)....So i reckon that using that logic if we have the potential to be good, then we must also have the potential to be bad/evil....We have a potential good/bad scale inside us, & depending on our will power we can slide either way....So the potential to sin has always been inside us from the start, & also the potential not to sin has always been inside us from the start....So if we can go either way in life being good or bad, who what or how do we decide which way to go?....I reckon we can decide to be good using our will power, & taking our ego mind out of the equation....Or being bad by not using our will power, & listening to our ego mind....As we go through life our body & mind will "tempt" us, as well as our friends/family/society/media/celebs etc to get us to do something we shouldn't, but ultimately we're responsible for our actions no matter what we say....So it's all about will power to me, that invisible thing that doesn't even start to exist until we start to use it....Maybe planet earth is just a training ground, & if we become an all round good person from our heart maybe we get promoted to the real planet earth!lol....Then again it might all be for nothing, but still the same being good is a lot better feeling than being bad....However building enough will power to break free from our ego is hard, & most people are too lazy to bother.

   The reason for the Flood was God was stopping the Nephilim (B’nai Ha Elohim) from tainting the genetic bloodline of the whole human race. Satan knew that Jesus Christ had to be born from an untainted bloodline, not from a mixed hybrid race that could not be redeemed. The Nephilim were onve all over the ancient Middle East attacking God’s people and creating wicked spiritual practices to lure humanity in worshiping Satan and his angels.
   
   “But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. These [are] the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man [and] perfect in his generations, [and] Noah walked with God.” Gen 6:8-9
   
   And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; he shall break thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. - Genesis 3:15
   
   The Lord  told Satan in this verse that the seed of a woman will eventually crush him; therefore, his purpose was to destroy the lineage of that seed (Jesus Christ) that would be born of a woman.
   
   Satan was seeking to stop God's plan by having fallen angels take women for themselves and have children with them. This was a deviant plan to ruin the lineage of the coming Messiah.
   
   The Flood did not get rid of sin, but purged the wicked agenda of Satan to stop the purpose of the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ.

   This is such a beautiful question, because it shows that someone is paying attention to the details. Very nice!
   
   God was satisfied that the Flood had done its job. He promised never again to use the Flood. So, the Flood cured humanity of some type of wickedness and violence -- just not the garden variety wickedness and violence we've had ever since the Flood (and also before the Flood).
   
   We've long known that the literal, biblical timeline is wrong, because so many different sources of knowledge point to a far older universe and far older humanity. We know that a literal reading of the Bible is wrong, because 2 Corinthians 3:6 warns against the letter (literal), as it leads to death; only the spirit leads to everlasting life. Christ let us know that the path to salvation is narrow and difficult, not broad and easy (literal). And Christ's use of difficult parables helped us to see the value of using spirit to seek answers instead of only logic and the letter.
   
   The traditional date for the Flood is 2348 BC (Ussher). But there were too many other people in the world at that time. Egypt's sixth dynasty was about to start. Thirteen years after this date, Sargon the Great conquered Sumer and soon created an empire which stretched to the Mediterranean.
   
   So, when was the Flood? The clues in Genesis lead to 27,970 BC. When we compare this to events found in science, we see that one species went extinct at that date. They looked just like the "daughters of men" of Genesis 6. They could not think as clearly as humans and could not speak as we do. They could not forgive or negotiate. They could not create civilization.
   
   That one very special kind of wickedness and violence was completely removed from Earth and has never been seen again throughout history, because that species is extinct.
   
   Why target that species? Because God's plan requires humans to help rescue His immortal children. His plan requires civilization. That other species jeopardized God's way.
   
   So, sin has always been here, throughout human history (before and after the Flood). Noah's Flood was only for the purpose of protecting God's plan for us by removing the one threat.
