   Who Owns God?
   
   Someone who answered a comment on someones questions said to everyone that  If you don't believe the Bible, you shouldn't quote it.  Do religions think that they own something that is above and beyond their intellect or that they can put this Omniprescence in a box and hide it from others?

   From a legal perspective, the bible is so old that it's contents would be regarded as public domain, which means anyone can reproduce it without a claim of ownership. So, in a very literal sense, no one owns god. If you're religious, that means god is for everyone. If you're an atheist, then that means god, as a fictional character, is just as available for use as Zeus or Thor.
   
   Since many theists say they have a 'personal' relationship with god, it's understandable why they might think they have ownership over that perceived god. However, they have no grounds to stand on when they try to assert that ownership.

   That comes with religion. People have their own experiences with truth, and then they develop the ego of superiority, "I am right, you are wrong" or " I know more than you". Then they battle the rest of their lives trying to convert others to their religion. They refuse to listen to other points of view. You will see that attitude in hubpages, and the world many times. Some even think they have the exclusive on the scriptures, and the only proper interpretation. It is a waste of time to try to open their minds to a different view.

   If anyone owns God then let me ask you this: Who owns you? Think about that. Perhaps it will answer the question.

   Nobody owns God, He owns Himself. We cannot condense God to be what we want because we cannot comprehend His nature, his very nature. We can only accept through nature and what is written in the Bible who God is.

   Communists always wanted to own what they  never owned and the way  their reasoning  goes about the "owning " God would give them chance to distribute someone else's property...
