Which verse in the bible means the most to you?  Does it comfort you?

Mine is Psalms 100 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the lands. Serve the Lord with gladness, come into His presence with singing. Know that He is God. He has made us. We are His people.  Enter his gates with thanks, and his courts with praise, and bless His name.  For God is good, His mercy everlasting, and His truth will endure to all generations forever.

I learned this one as a child, and it always put peace and love in my heart.  I don't know why, it just did.

John 3:15-17  That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Very true, if only so many others believed this to be true.

"Be still and know that I am God." I believe when we are 'still' or at rest in Him, then love can pervade our lives. It's when we are so caught up in religion that we lose sight of what the message of the Bible is telling us... and that is to LOVE with everything in our being.

True.  Religion is one thing, but loving God is much more amazing!

Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thy heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding; In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path.
Matthew 21:22 And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive
Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

    Good question.

The verse that means the most to me is found in Matthew 6: 33 (NKJV) which says: 33 "But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." This verse comforts me the most and I hope many others also.

Psalm 23: 1-6 (I think most people know this one by heart)

II Timothy 2:15 -Study to shew thyself approved unto Gos, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Psalms 23- The Lord is my shepherd.... I've always pray this @ night.

We are often troubled, but not crushed; sometimes in doubt, but never in despair; There are many enemies, but we are never without friend, and though badly hurt at times , we are not destroyed.- 2 Corinthians 4: 8-9

Write down for the coming generation what the Lord has done, so that people not yet born will praise Him.- Psalm 102:18

To show that you are his children, God sent the spirit of his Son into our hearts, the spirit who cries out Father, my Father.“ Galatian 4:6

Oh, Psalm 100 is a beautiful rejoicing to the Lord no doubt, and I can see why you love it so.  There are so many scripture verses that comfort, but the one I am always claiming, it seems, as one of His many promises, is Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans for hope and a future."  This one really comforts me during difficult times, as I truly believe His promises and so I claim them for myself, family and friends.  So great, so great, is His faithfulness!

God bless.  In His Love Always, Faith Reaper

the one that says: ''do unto others as you would have them do unto you. ''
If everyone followed that rule, there would be no problems left to solve.

You have said it Michelle. I thought of 'Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name ...' and then I read your piece. Super excellent!!!

I always put God first, and David did this in your piece. He also added praise and adoration as well as compassion.
Praising is one way to God's palace. We also need interior and exterior prayer, love and service .... long list. In the world in which I live, nothing can exist without this crucial Source. So happy this inspires you. Higher blessings

"And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me."
Matt 11:6 (The words of Jesus)
This verse comforts me because it helps me to see how our arrogance is so foolish, especially in lieu of His sacrifice, suffering, wisdom and emotional strength.

We know that the law is good if one uses it properly.  We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.

Genesis 1:26 -- that God created us in His image and likeness. And God is not Homo sapiens.

The subtext: we are his spiritual children -- non-physical, immortal sources of creation. We got lost. We took a wrong turn and found ourselves clinging to the physical universe for our perception, rather than merely looking through spiritual eyes.

When Jesus said that the first shall be last, and the last shall be first, he was talking of this. Those who are separate (ego), will always fall behind because they cling to the master of this world. When you love with all your heart, mind and soul (true self), then there is no separation, and you can see with spiritual eyes -- no longer needing the faculties of your temporary, Homo sapiens body.
