   Vampire is a word that has been used over the centuries to mean many things.
   
   The fictional vampires that most people today associate with the word obviously do not exist. There are no walking undead that live off of human blood.
   
   There is however a widespread vampire subculture that crosses continents where people create vampire alter-egos. Drink the blood of willing donors ceremoniosly and even have there teeth filed to a point.

   Yes, but only in certain locations.  Look through all the vampire books and review all the vampire movies.  Make a list of all the geographic locations mentioned, such as Transylvania.
   
   If you ever visit any of those areas, make sure you keep your windows closed at night.

   Metui Juila, you'll need to ascertain what "vampire" means to you. As ar.colton mentioned, it means a lot of thing.
   
   It is a subculture where the vampires try to emulate the mythological undead.
   
   Vampires does exist in mythology: whether it's European, Asian or African. Popular culture certainly adds more traits to vampires - including making them "glitter in the sunlight".
   
   But do genuine vampires exist? I'd have to say I haven't seen one.

   The only way to answer this question is if you had an infinite knowledge of the world and everything in it, or if you have actually seen a vampire (assuming that you are talking about the mythological creatures portrayed for thousands of years in countless writings and stories).
   All that I can say is that there are an awful lot of suggestions that say they do exist and an awful lot that say they don't. I consider myself rational, but I am open to the possibility that they could exist. I agree with Socrates that I know nothing about anything except that I know nothing.

   Real vampires are very rare and to most people are urban legends. One such vampire actually appeared in peoples sleep ans usually die the next day. They eventually went to the grave and saw the the dead person who her heart was still beating and looked as if alive. In the modern world the closest thing to a vampire is an energy vampire.

   Depends on your definition of the word. there are people in this world who go to great lengths to be like the name , and those who have addiction to drinking from others Its  like a high for them *creepy but true . its all about what type of meaning your looking for. Are these ppl really vampires. Doubt it . are their vampires in this world? 'Who am i do judge if there isn't or was at some point or  other.  if their is, well good for them .

    Yes. But not the one's in the myths. They are normal people like you and I. We all reincarnate again and again. Sometimes when a soul gets to eager and reincarnates before they are good and ready they come into the world feeling  like they don't belong. The soul feels trapped between this life and the last and is aware that it has a short time to live, leaving the person feeling lost and confused. so they feel that this need is satisfied through "life blood" but its not. its a short fix.

    Vampires have been mentioned the history for centuries in different parts of the world. There are many legends that describe them to be the undead with supernatural abilities.
    Although some of it makes sense, and can be explained scientifically, like why they burn in the sun and that they have superior senses and speed, others myths like they can change their form into bats, and that they don't have a reflection are made up.
