   Since believers agree with Paul, "...absent from the body ..." why the references of the dead in...
   
   Christ being RAISED imperishable (1 Corin.15:52-55)?  Confusing in some ways...which is it...being RAISED or being PRESENT?

   To be absent from this world is to be present with the Lord as a Christian. This could mean immediately you go there and I would wish so but being dead is just like going to sleep so when the trumpet sounds all will not die but some changed that are still alive in the twinkling of an eye and brought up with the dead together in the clouds. The dead I think have just a pause they are gone from here and open their eyes gathered by Christ Jesus. Maybe they have been dead 100 years but to them it will be like a short nap.

   This question seems to based on a misunderstanding of a  difficult to interpret Bible verses.Here they are in ancient language:
   
   2 Corinthians 5:7-9 (King James Version)
   
   7For we walk by faith, not by sight.
   
   8We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
   
   9Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
   
   
   And here are the same verses in modern English:
   
   2 Corinthians 5:7-9 (Contemporary English Version)
   
   7But we live by faith, not by what we see. 8We should be cheerful, because we would rather leave these bodies and be at home with the Lord. 9But whether we are at home with the Lord or away from him, we still try our best to please him.

   We are present in spirit,after we die the spirit shall leave the body.
   No flesh shall enter into Heaven.

   We are a spirit, we have a soul and we live in a body...raising
   from the dead had everything to do with the physical body. At death, the spirit and soul separate from the body. It is the spirit and the soul that experience the presence.

   When the believer dies, his body remains on earth...subject to decay. But the believer has spiritual Life...he is a living spirit. (something akin to the body but it is spirit..able to live in heavenly places.) The believer himself is a living soul, a person, an individual who is unique.
   At death, this soul moves immediately into the heavenly realm within a spiritual form. He is then..present with the Lord...he is in heaven with all those who have gone before him.
   So, while the soul and spirit of the man are in heaven...the body is just a carcass...lifeless and decaying...returning back to the earth. But when Jesus returns to earth, at a time called the Resurrection...this dead body and all the others (believers and non-believers) all these bodies will be raised up (reconstituted if you will). And then...Jesus will separate the dead into two groups. The saved and the damned. (The sheep and the goats.)
   Then the damned will be judged according to their works. And the saved will be rewarded according to their works.
   Both will receive eternal bodies...of a design similar to the old but with new characteristics.
