Is chance or a Creator the source of all things?
I believe on the basis of the Bible (Genesis 1:1 and other passages) that our Creator either directly or indirectly made all things and people. He is the 3 Persons in one God revealed in all of the Bible. He made you and me by wonderfully designing our bodies and gave us each day of life. How can we not be thankful? He also gave everyone who trusts in Jesus' perfect life, death on the cross, and resurrection as the God-Man Road to the Source or Creator and to lfe that lasts forever with him. Those are the truths that the Bible assumes to be true, and therefore I believe them..
I think everything as we know it, is too perfect. It would be like a grandfather clock, just falling together and keeping perfect time.
But, God, who gave us His word to live by, told us exactly what happened. That has never been proven wrong, and that is good enough for me.
Bruce, I agree with you.
I don't think you are really interested in opinions that differ from your own, or you would offer the real alternatives to dvine creation. "Chance" is not one of these.
Regarding Creator vs chance, I don't think we can decide beyond a shadow of a doubt merely by observing our surroundings (see this article http://thinkingaboutthebigquestions.blo … s-god.html ), instead each person's viewpoint will differ depending on whether they believe in Christianity or atheism. Of course, only 1 of these can be correct as they are mutually exclusive....
I believe there is a great creator of all things, and he goes my many names. But really think when you need help in your life whom do you turn to? Well I know I do, turn to GOD, the lord of lord and king of king, that’s my creator.
Both. On two or three occasions I could have been killed or seriously harmed. Once is sheer luck. Twice you've beaten the odds. After that, it has to be intervention from a divine force. So I believe in guardian angels and that everything that happens is for a reason.
So if there are guardian angels there has to be a creator. At least for the really big stuff like life and death. Other minor things like winning five bucks on a scratch ticket is by chance.
(It does bring up an interesting point of why do some live while others die. It's hard to say except that maybe those who live still have a mission to resolve. Those who die are in a better place.)
Anyway, it's the same with the universe. The creator that we call God intervenes in the important stuff like creating Earth and humans in His image. The rest of the universe is a field of rubble that was scattered by chance.
Did your house you live in come together by chance? Or did someone build it? What about your computer you're using to type this question? Someone built them. Why? Because design only comes from a designer. So look at the universe, trees, plants, animals, humans, oxygen, molecules, gravity, planets, seasons, etc. things that are infinitely more complex than a house or computer. Therefore, having an infinitely more complex Creator, or, God.

Can only Christians and those who accept Jesus Christ go to heaven?According to Christianity, only those who have openly accepted Jesus Christ and the Christian faith may go to heaven. If that is the case, what about the African tribe who has never heard of of Jesus? Even if they are good people,...

What is the best way to explain the existence of God to an atheist?I've heard people try to convince atheists that there is a God by quoting the Bible or some other holy book. But quoting from such materials won't work. You have to believe in them before you can accept them as plausible...

Where does someone like me, with psychic ability, fit into Christianity? Do you think I am evil?I believe in God & Jesus & God's Holy Spirit. But I was born psychic. I see dead people and I talk to dead people. It is a God-given ability. I help people. Yet I cannot label myself as...
